Circle Lounge – Halifaxi went there on a Friday night and to my surprise it was all jam packed.i was about to leave but got a table at last.food was very good, service was also nice and one thing which i liked about the place was the owner was always there to help us,which was good. i loved the food and missing it.....
Curry Lounge – Roundhayhighly recommended for the fab food & wide choice of dishes, restaurant is homely & stylish. Staff always friendly & welcoming & nothing is too much trouble. Nice wine too. We had our informal wedding reception here (july 2010) & it was perfect-the food, service, everything. Thanks to Johnny, Matt & the team for helping to make it a day to remember.
The Stump Cross Inn – HalifaxReally enjoyed our evening here late February: food and wine were excellent and we were really made to feel at home. Unpretentious and flexible, this is a place we will visit again as it compares well with some of the over-priced, loud places nearby.
L’Albero Delle Noci – Harrogatebrilliant Thai. Lovely food. Service excellent. Best restaurant in Wetherby
Yum Yum Thai – Wetherbyfantastic addition to the Harrogate dining scene. Lovely decor, seamless service and good value tasty food
Deano’s Graze and Grill – HarrogateWhat a excellent party we had at this place, excellent food, very good service, outstanding place, guys try this place then you know what i'm talking about,we will be back soon.
Balti House Restaurant – KeighleyBRILL!!! I want to thank Rik who posted his recommendation on 12 Dec 2010. You were spot on mate, spot on! Food was fantastic and the service brilliant, even got a FREE BOTTLE OF WINE!!!! Went in on Saturday night, 12 March 2011 it wasn't full, but not empty either. Took the mrs and my mate and his mrs. We all agreed the food tasted beautiful, really tasty. Can't believe they've never advertised the restaurant, but I can understand in this day and age. Word of mouth will defo spread - from me anyway! Food for 4 of us was about £10 per head, popadums, pickle tray, starters, mains and naans. Gr8!!! Go and try, you won't know until u do!!! You might even get a bottle of wine! FREE!!!
Leenas – HuddersfieldI don't think that you will publish this, but I think that you should, especially if you are fair and straight with you recommendations. Went on Friday night, with 9 of my friends - on the recommendation of two of your readers, Leo 18 Jan, and Tony 19 Aug 2010. Not very impressed, Food was average as was the deco, service ok. I did however ask about the awards, and was told that any restaurant can buy them in exchange for advertising with the advertisers - staff member was then told off by management for telling us this. Sorry, but won't be going back
Chilli Lounge – HuddersfieldWe had a meal on Sunday evening there for the first time. And it was a good experience. The restaurant look better than the food (the french menu, but adjusted for English), but still was OK. The good thing is you can have a set menu that is available all the time not like at most restaurants for specific course. Will go again in summer time.
Brasserie Blanc – Leeds City CentreI've been going to Little Tokyo for nearly ten years, but I think it has gone really downhill in recent years, in terms of both the quality of the food, hygiene, and the service. Seeing a rat-trap outside the kitchen is not a good sign, and while they make a big deal of their vegan and vegetarian options, after being served meat (something that has also happened to vegetarian friends of mine) I really don't trust them. My last visit to Little Tokyo (and I do mean 'last visit')was with a friend, who like myself is not only vegan, but a long standing Little Tokyo customer. The restaurant was very quiet, and in fact we were the only diners seated downstairs when our order was taken. My friend ordered a bento box set with tofu steak and I ordered a vegetarian ramen dish. While ordering asked the waiter if the noodle dish came with tofu and he said that it did. I also said that I was vegan. When the dish came the waiter said that he hoped there was enough tofu in it for me. In fact it had meat in it, and because it was dark in the restaurant I put some in my mouth. For someone who is a strict vegan of many years this was a disgusting experience and I had to go to the toilet to be sick. I wasn't even offered a glass of water, and when I asked to speak to the manager I was told there was no manager there. I then had to pay for this awful experience. A written complaint did not even receive an acknowledgement. I would never set foot in Little Tokyo again.
Little Tokyo – Leeds City CentreI visited Prashad for the second time on Saturday (12 March) and I was not dissapointed, the food 'sings' on your tongue. I just want to go again and again to try all the dishes. Kaushy came and had a chat with us and her love of food and feeding people is so blindingly obvious. I am not a vegetarian but this food is so good it does not depend on meat but relies on expertly mixing spices.
Prashad – Bradfordvisited the pub on sat evening for celebration meal with family party of 14,welcome was warm staff where friendly great menu for adults and kids, once ordered food arrived quickly and all together. piping hot, large portions, the steaks are fab, cooked how you want to perfection, sticky toffee pud (omg) outstanding food ,great service friendly warm atmosphere , great night out in traditional english village pub
The Duke of Wellington – NorthallertonFANTASTIC!!! What more can I say? Well , loads actually! The food is beautiful - its Punjabi food. When asked what this meant, I was told that they are not an "Indian", but are originally from the boarders of Pakistan and India, before the divide in the late 40's. The taste of the food is "harsh", its none of this sweet and oily tasting Bangladeshi food, which most other Indian restaurants in Huddersfield are. Believe me, I eat out with business clients and family - Indian food is my favourite. You can actually taste the flavours and the spices, WONDERFUL!!! The service, what can I say? OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! The staff bend over backwards for you, especially the lady called 'Leena'. She's really lovely and can't do enough for you. If you haven't tried a certain dish and you ask this lady about it, she will insist on getting the chef to make you a little bit to try - which other restaurant can you say does this? The food is HEALTHY, its cooked in olive oil or vegetable oil - I was really impressed and surprised that they don't use ghee - clarified butter, as does every other restaurant in Huddersfield. This is the only "Asian Punjabi Restaurant" I've been to, where you are ASKED if you would like your dishes mild, medium or hot. Well, actually I mean, they can even manage a mild/med and a med/hot, BRILLIANT! - Every other place bring out the currys "as they come". As for the cost, VALUE FOR MONEY, I truly believe this, the amount of food you get is unbelievable. I even mentioned this to the lady, Leena, that the dishes were to large and that they would benefit by making them smaller. "NO, we want our customers to feel full and happy, not to still feel hungry" she said. When you go to Leena's, don't worry if there's no one in, especially in the current economic times, try the food - you will definitely go back again and again!!! Why travel out of Huddersfield to get a curry, the best and most friendly restaurant is right on our doorstep!!!! You won't regret it, especially if you want a proper curry, not all this sweet, oily tasting stuff, thats out there!
Leenas – HuddersfieldFood amazing and very well presented. Good quantity and reasonably priced. Service extremely slow (Business or their light lunch takes up the whole afternoon) even though each visit we have been the only people in. We wonder if its so slow in order to make you buy more drinks in the interim as asked several times if further drinks required. Coke is served in short measures as well as the glass being stuffed full with ice. Also we hate the salt and pepper which is served in help yourself with your fingers bowls yuk!!.
La Rue Restaurant – ShipleyLovely place, nice friendly staff, good company and good food. Good choice and reasonable price. Will go again.
No 21 – HuddersfieldEnglish tapas, beautifully cooked and served with excellence. Was particularly impressed with the black forest mousse. Definitely going back.
Deano’s Graze and Grill – HarrogateI am so pleased that a good quality Indian restaurant can now be found again in Hull City Centre. Ever since Gainsborough closed down I have been travelling out of town for a good Indian meal, but no more - Cinnamon has everything I could possibly want. My partner and I were, at first, somewhat perplexed at what to choose from the extensive menu but the very helpful waiter (who, it turns out was actually the owner My Koyesh) gave us plenty of time and even suggested we order our starters and continue looking at the menu at our leisure until they arrived. The starters we chose were the Exotica (a typical but well flavoured tandoori mixed grill appetiser) and I decided on the Kolizi (spiced chicken livers). These were a revelation, perfectly cooked, highly spiced but still retaining the flavour of the main ingredient which, seeing as chicken livers are my favourite, was perfection for me. For mains we requested a Phall (not on the menu) and a Tarka Dall (obligingly spiced up for us with extra chillies at our request and consequently probably the best I have had in Hull), Pilau Rice and a Chappati. I still could not make up my mind about the other mains but took Mr Koyesh's recommendations for the Chicken Chilli Bom and Seafood Bhuna after he had discovered my preference for seafood and a spicy House Speciality. The food was wonderful. The Bhuna was packed full of squid, scallops and king prawns and the Chicken Chilli Bom was fragrant and mouthwateringly good with each individual spice recognisable and complementary to the others and the dish as a whole, The entire experience, high quality food; friendly, helpful, warm and yet non-intrusive service; calm, comfortable ambiance and a good price have made this restaurant deserve all the 5 stars I am giving it and I suggest you try it for yourselves. On Monday nights there is an amazing offer on for 9.95 per head for any Starter, Main, Side, Naan and Rice - the choice being from the entire menu rather than the shortened list of "favourites" most other offers provide. Please try this, you won't be disappointed.
