The food is outstanding here. A good old fashioned English country pub, serving home cooked food at great prices. Atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are great. They are so welcoming and friendly. We are a regular and take all our family and friends there for a meal when they come to stay with us. The Sunday roast dinners are the best and the Yorkie puds are just to die for!

Cat and Bagpipes – NorthallertonThis is a great, family run authentic Italian restaurant with a friendly welcoming atmosphere. The food is fresh, exceptional and brought to you with a great pride. The staff are very knowledgeable and happy to prepare food not on the menu. Do remember to ask for Wines not listed on the menu! A big improvement on their previous location in Dewsbury. It's a must for Italian sea and veg food lovers.
Roberto’s – BatleyI would highly recommend anyone to visit The Wilson. The fillet steak and rack of lamb that my wife and I ordered were cooked to perfection and to top it off they have the best selection of ice creams (coconut and rum and rum to name a few!) The staff were so friendly that I felt like I was a special customer. I am looking forward to dining there again, top Marks!
The Wilson Gastro Bar – HullHad one of the most enjoyable lunches out today as my wife and I visited the Sportsmans Inn.We travelled over from Bramley on a beautiful Springlike day. First time visitors we plumped for a Retro lunch and dessert.I had half a pint of Taylors Landlord which was excellent .I chose the Fishermans Pie which came with Roast Potatoes and a selection of spring Veg.The dish was fantastic with succulent pieces of fish in a creamy sauce topped with mash and a cheesy top.My wife had the Beer Braised Beef which also was delicious.Finding space for a dessert I opted for the Sticky Toffee Pudding served with vanilla Ice Cream.My wife had the Banoffee Crumble with Creme Anglaise.Both were fantastic.We immediately booked for Mothers Day. Can't wait to go back .Highly recommended!

The Wheelhouse – HullDO NOT GO ON A SATURDAY! We pre-booked a table for 7.30pm, and were still not seated past 8.40pm. After making a complaint about our wait, and seeing other customers be seated before us, without a prior booking, we left. Staff were very unhelpful and the place is poorly managed.

Matthew’s Coffee House – CleckheatonMy wife and I went to Mango following a recommendation from a friend. Neither of us is vegetarian but this did not matter in the slightest as the food is simply great - you know it’s been cooked to order, with the freshest of ingredients, by a chef who is very accomplished in their trade. For starters we had a mixed selection to share, this was very tasty with a nice balance of flavours; however, the Dhokra was fantastic, I've never had anything like it - it's a must! For my main course I opted for the Masala Dosa; this is a dryish curry of potatoes, cauliflower and onions all wrapped in a pancake – it was delicious. My wife, had the Aurro, which is a curry with aubergine as one of its main ingredients; now I don't like aubergine all that much, but I have to say it was lovely. For afters I went for the Kulfi, an Indian ice-cream; this one was flavoured with rose and strawberry and complimented my previous courses very well, but Catherine out did me with the Shirkhand. Who'd of thought that a humble yogurt could be so stunning! The restaurant is a family run business, which has only been going for 3 years but seems like it has been going for longer – as was the quality of the food and service. Thankfully the mother was persuaded that her cooking was good that she had to open a restaurant and share her food outside of the family. She knows her way around Indian spices and the flavours she cooks up are incredible. I can't wait for our next meal there.

Saims Restaurant – HuddersfieldIt was very cool and chili this morning when we went to the PictureVille Cinema to see the very entertaining senior screening of ‘True Grit’ with Jeff Brdiges, Matt Damon and Hlne Stanfield. Afterwards we went to Prashad for lunch. It was 1 pm by then and the restaurant was buzzing with satisfied diners and it looked as if all the tables were occupied! However, the smart, young waiter found us a table. We ordered papads, bhel supreme, utthapam and idli sambar. Well! A brilliant finishing touch to a great day out – great entertainment at the cinema to start with and this meal, fit for royalty to follow. Prashad is growing from strength to strength, excelling itself.
