Bankhouse Inn – PudseyMy first visit to prashad was like being transported back to my 8 years working in INDIA I was like a kid in sweet shop with a £10 note, where to start.. The the starters we superb the mains all looked marvelous and the sweets well very sweet yum For something a bit different try the masala dosa or the idli Samba then the sweet gulab jaman to take away the hot spice of previous dishes all typical south indian
Prashad – BradfordHaving recently visited The Peppered Pig following a friends recommendation, I have to say that I was not disappointed. The food was fantastic, the wine choice extensive, the staff were delightful and for certain we will be back!
The Peppered Pig – GooleVery stylish restaurant, very clean. We received a very friendly welcome, the staff are really friendly and attentive. The service is first class and the food is lovely. We had the mixed kebabs, which we couldn't finish however hard we tried! You will not be disappointed, can't wait to go back.
Meze Restaurant – BrighouseMy friends and I have travelled from Hull to Leeds on many many occasions only to eat at this Restaurant. The food is fantastic. The portion sizes are enormous and the service excellent. We have always got chatting to the customers in there as well. Very friendly place. A real gem of a place!
Maureens Caribbean Eat In Or Takeaway – RoundhayCame here for dinner last night and, as usual, was impressed by the food, although the bruschetta was a little heavy on the balsamic vinegar. The kitchen was obviously backed up as our main courses took ages to arrive, but they were perfectly cooked - I always appreciate a restaurant that can serve good mashed potato with its lamb shank. Still a favourite for an inexpensive evening.
Frankie and Bennys – Leeds City CentreA long awaited fine dining experience on our doorstop. The restaurant is modern yet relaxing and the staff were wonderfully friendly from the initial booking to arrival through to leaving. We were shown to our table and offered menus, the food choice is not massive but so tempting it still takes time to decide! Once decided, the food did not disappoint, presented beautifully it tasted as good as it looked. Fresh quality ingredients cooked to perfection. The wine list is not over priced and we opted for the house red which was smooth, easy drinking and good value for money considering the mark up some restaurants add. Overall a very good dining experience and made all the better by the little extra touches - the individual prawn cocktails and shot glasses of homemade soup served as you browse the menu together with the morish homemade selection of breads - well worth further visits and very highly recommended.
The Peppered Pig – GooleThe peppered pig serves fantastic food if a little too much. The peppered steak is lovely and the chicken kiev to die for along with the liquorice ice cream. Will certainly return for more.
The Peppered Pig – GooleThis restaurant was recommended to the DLCC whilst dining at a different establishment. We found the staff to be extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. The restaurant itself was clean and inviting. The poppadoms tasted a little stale and we were concerned for what may follow. We need not have worried. the curries that came were of a high standard and the menu offered a great variety and specials that we had not come across before. It is a venue that we will visit again and would recommend it. It received a DLCC rating of 7/10
Royal Bengal – Barnsleyhave been going here for about 25 years and there all ways polite and the place is all ways spotless clean and there service is very good and there food to deliver it only takes a few minutes and have not got any complains about the food only odd times it could do with being warmed up a lot hotter some times that's only one complain sorry to say but will still keep coming as i travel about 70 miles to the restaurant thank you for reading this comment Stephen
Sweet Centre Restaurant – BradfordWent with a party of 6 family members, and we were a bit cautious about trying somewhere new. There are so few independently owned restaurants doing Italian food these days, as many of those opening in recent years are part of large national chains. We are so glad we tried it. The food was very good quality both in taste and presentation, there are lots of interesting choices and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We were not rushed in any way and it was a totally relaxing and enjoyable experience. We look forward to going again.
This restaurant is a little gem - absolutely loved the place! So relaxing, good choice of Italian wines and the food is very very tasty! I had a pizza and a bresoala starter - Have taken my girlfriend at least once a week! lol Would recommend to all - well done Giorgios!
We went to the Black Horse for Mothers Day Lunch. The cost was almost identical to a visit a week previously to a Michelin starred restaurant in North Yorkshire. The food and service however would not have disgraced a Fawlty Towers episode. We were brought bread rolls after 20 mins with the exclamation "brown or white - oh! the white ones are in the kitchen so it's brown. Gosh these are small today, who wants one!". We had to ask for the wine list. When the meals arrived it was evident that the gravy was out of a packet and the vegetables were tasteless. I had Lamb which could just as easily have been Beef. Those eating Beef were not given a choice of how they wished it cooked and it came very well done. To top it all my son was quite sick after the meal - thanks to the spicy prawn he had as a starter. When we mentioned to the owner that we were not happy with the meal his only response was "I haven't had any other complaints". If you are looking for 70's roadside food, served indifferently at top prices then this restaurant is for you. Otherwise steer clear
The Black Horse Restaurant – BroughThe Gnu Inn, The Green, North Newbald, East Yorkshire YO43 4SA Tel : 01430 827473 As it was St Patrick's Day we decided to visit a local Inn and hopefully order some food. We took a gamble and drove to the Gnu Inn in North Newbald. It has been 3 years since our last "not so memorable" visit. The St Pat's day gamble paid off, the pub has new landlords ; Sonia and Steve! Environment: We were very pleasantly surprised, the pub has had a makeover, nothing pretentious, clean, a tastefully decorated environment, subtle colours, even the long pub seats have new back rests! The toilets are spotless, cheerful with a choice of hand washes. Food: Big choice from the menu or the Daily Board, The food was well presented on white crockery, hot and tasty! Our compliments to the chef! Value for money: Drinks: a pint, 2 halves, 2 lemonades, 2 adult main courses and I child's main course with 2 desserts came to £42. This is excellent value! The Gnu Inn – YorkFirst visit since this extended restaurant opened on the former site of Pietro's - which we loved and visited on many occasions. However, needn't have worried - very modern, staff very friendly, good atmosphere, tables not too squashed (unlike some other local Italians), decent food and decent service. Highly recommend.
