Cafe No5 is an excellent evening eatery but it is also open during the day and serves an absolutely fabulous breakfast. This is a family run business and mum Jean may be as blind as a bat but she really makes the place!

Apart from being a member off staff at Cafe No5 i am also a regular customer there. For the past 4/5 years Ange and her staff have catered for my family parties and always made it a night to remember with great food and great service it is guaranteed to make your birthday a celebration to remember.

1331 is a fantastic little bistro/bar situated in the very nicest part of York in the Quarter within a couple of minutes of the Minster. There are 3 floors, with the downstairs and middle floors more for walk-in groups looking for a bite to eat to the top restaurant floor exclusively for eating. the quality of the food is outstanding and when comparing to other bistro's around York the cost is very reasonable. most mains are in the range of £8 to £13, with some real treats like red snapper on the menu. 1331 is very highly recommended.

Fantastic restaurant that caters for intimate dinners with an extremely friendly atmosphere and hosts. Due to the size of the restaurant the staff make you feel important and are always available for your every whim! Definitely a place to visit if you're planning a romantic dinner for 2.

The food is of the highest quality for the prices they charge. my only recommendation to this restaurant is that the service is a bit slow and yet they automatically charge you for the service. I have been here on quite a few occasions and would recommend it to family and friends

Really makes a change from the usual chain pubs, food is excellent - highly recommended.

WOW, that place shimla spice in shipley is something that would make people WOW.... me and my wife went there last night thinking that it was going to be very expensive but it was not..... if you want to go out for a meal at a beautiful restaurant and at a very good price I would highly recommend the shimla spice......the restaurant has its own large private function area for any special occasions and they even do a limousine pick up a magnificent price.......the place blows you away............ It is the best restaurant in the whole of Yorkshire. without a doubt

This pub offers you good food and wonderful people to meet and talk to. You get charming conversation and a good meal (that is to die for) for a relatively cheap price, good service and nice bar staff. What else would you want??

Ate in Bar area,very "country" and interesting.

The meal is carvery, with a side menu of salads only. Weekday meals upto 5.00 pm are very good value. They do go up after 5.00pm but still very reasonable. Sunday lunch is more expensive but the quality and quantity are the same as weekday so not as good value. There is usually a choice of 3 joints, together with yorkies, stuffing etc. and usually 5/6 veg incl. potatoes. You can choose all 3 meats if you wish!

My favourite place to eat. Easy, cheap & great tasting food.

Well, what can I say....When I walked in the door last Saturday my body began to yearn for food. Initially, the restaurant was recommended by a friend, so I was intrigued to find out if I shared their amazement. However, the only downfall was the service. We were served by a boy with a rather large nose, I can't specifically remember his name, but I think he was gay and had a strange laugh. Overall, the Bankhouse was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for me and my family and I would recommend it to anyone who shares with me a love of traditional yet classy pub food.

Good neighbourhood curry house round the corner from Shipley station. Eccentric menu with a few innovative dishes on it, good cooking (the mix tikka starter is a must, they've got a real way with grilled meat!) and a warm welcome. I've had a few very good curries here on the way home from work - what more can you want than a warm welcome and a well-judged cheap curry?

Back-to-basics curry house with a cheerful, studenty atmosphere, huge portions of balti-style curries, and as they say some quite gigantic naans. Not particularly sophisticated and their dishes tend to the mild/sweet end of the spectrum but they're very good at what they do. Beware the spiral staircase to the toilets if you've been indulging in a few pints before your visit.

Quality stuff. Some of the best service in Bradford and a "create your own Balti" option if none of the dishes on the main menu take your fancy. Really clear, strong flavours, quality ingredients and imaginative spicing in all the dishes. One of the best of the upmarket Indian restaurants in Bradford, and probably the best in the city centre.

Long may the Kash reign. It's not the most sophisticated food, service or ambience in the world but by 'eck they're fantastic at what they do. Somehow after a plate of their seekh kebabs, a Kashmir mix special, a few of the best chapatis in the world and half a jug of lassi the troubles of the world evaporate completely. It's been pretty much the same in the 20 years I've been visiting Bradford, and I hope it remains fundamentally unchanged for the next 20. There's always a place for utterly honest, unpretentious food served in huge quantities at bargain prices.
