Anyone who does not live close to University of Leeds should feel envious that they do not have La Besi as their local eatery. The restaurant is run by a really nice Italian guy, the staff are friendly and the chef is also Italian to add to the authenticity. My partner and I have eaten at La Besi several times and have always loved the food, ambience and the service. Not only is the menu very affordable with the average main course around £7.50 but the food is also delicious. I recommend the steak with Roquefort sauce if you enjoy strong flavours, or for something more delicate try the salmon Tagliatelle. La Besi does not have an alcohol licence so you can bring your own alcoholic drinks. We always take wine but anything goes it seems. There is even an off licence two minutes down the road if you decide you need another bottle of Sicilian Red. Enjoy.
