Neither of their emails confirmed I had paid a £40 deposit. On arriving on time, the manager had received no notification that the booking existed. This was embarrassing for me in front of friends we had taken and other dinners. If I had not received an email I to not think the manager would have believed I had made the booking. I received no apology just some muttering that he would have to find another table for another booking he had. Whilst the food was excellent unfortunately the service was not very good. This appeared to be because there were only two people trying to take orders, deliver drinks and food, clear tables, answer requests etc, during a full Saturday night Service. They had no time to be pleasant to their customers. We were not asked if the food was ok or if we needed anything else, more drinks maybe, during the whole evening. We had to wait for considerable time for our desert order to be taken and then again for the deserts to arrive. We had to request the final bill four times. I think the other people who have left reviews went to a different restaurant! The staff should receive medals for doing their best to keep the restaurant running without support of the owner who could not be bothered to reply to my email.
