Lovely Sunday lunch yesterday, table of four with one person Gluten Free which was catered for beautifully. Service was very good and all food was served piping hot. The only downside was it is set two or three courses and one of the people dining wasn’t very hungry and only wanted a starter and a dessert, but the starter was charged as a main meal, which was disappointing.

A beautiful Sunday lunch at The Bricklayers yesterday. The beef in parts was slightly more rarer than I like. I don’t know if you can request how you like it on ordering, probably just pot luck how it is calved, but it would not put me off returning as it was delicious. Starter and pudding fab too! Looking forward to returning again.

I would very much like to write a review, however I am unable to due to the following : I booked a table for 2:15 on Saturday the 7th of February to celebrate my sister in law's birthday. We arrived on time and stood at the "Wait here to be seated" sign. There was one server dealing with a table so we patiently waited. Then she began running food to another table, then she went back to the first table. (I will note that there were only 2 tables occupied). We had still not even been acknowledged. We stood there for at least 10 minutes, I then deiced that maybe we should go to the bar where there was another server and just make our presence known. That was a joke as that server had her back to us and was making coffee's, she was aware of us but did not even turn around an acknowledge our presence. She then took the coffee's to a table, came back and began making more coffee, still no acknowledgement. Eventually I was now getting a little fed up, I said excuse me and she turned and said "I'll be right with you", she then delivered the coffee's, came back and said "yes?" I explained that we had a table booked, her response was "Go and stand there!" Meaning the "Wait to be seated sign" where we had already stood for 10 minutes. So far we have been in the premises for 20 minutes. We go back and stand and wait to be seated, some time later the server comes over and say's "Sit where you like" we chose a table and sat, then NOTHING. We sat for a further 10 minutes and got up and left. Basically there were 2 members of staff on, clearly they cannot deal with 3 tables and a handful of people in the bar, so maybe more staff on a Saturday afternoon. But I can assure you, after having our birthday celebration ruined, we won't be back.

Cheikos is a family favourite - been going for years! Food and service is always fantastic, won’t be long until we’re back and sat in our ‘usual’ table!

Service and food was exceptional. A party of 19 and everyone received their meal together. Great atmosphere and waitress was excellent throughout

Lovely food, good service, nice friendly people. We enjoyed our meals and the time we spent in The Bricklayers.

I took my mum out for dinner last Friday and we both had the 8ounce sirloin steak and oh my days it was one of the best steaks I have ever tasted my mum said it was the best meal out she had ever had! Food/Staff/Price all 10/10 x will definitely be going back for more.

Great selection on the menu and a fab meal.

Once again a fantastic visit with family. All choices of food equally delicious as usual. Warm welcome and great service makes this our first choice to eat out, just wish it was closer. We love the atmosphere of this family run restaurant between father and son and hope to return as soon as possible. We send our thanks and love. Xx

Really enjoyed my meal here on the 28th Jan, myself and daughter had two meals from the lighter bites men, a pudding and an alcoholic drink each for £22, The food was lovely, service was great and would definitely go back

Excellent food and great service with a smile, decent price too!

We had a fantastic Sunday, yet again. Staff cheerful and attentive. Facilities were great and clean. Would we go again, oh yes we would.

We went to dove for Sunday lunch but found it disappointing. We ordered turkey as they had ran out of beef. The turkey wasn't fresh carved turkey, it was formed turkey slices which wasn't very nice. The pudding was lovely but won't go back for Sunday lunch im afraid.

Visited on 24/01/26, we have been on a number of occasions before. Unfortunately, on this occasion the food was not up to scratch. I had Meatfeast Pizza which came to the table overcooked and the ladies both had sea bass which was a tiny portion and the vegetables were undercooked. When the waitress cleared the table I told her I was disappointed with the pizza and she instantly offered me a free dessert, which I thought was very good service. Unfortunately, we did not make her aware that we were disappointed with the sea bass as it would have seemed we were angling for more free desserts. Service was good, the restaurant was very busy and the atmosphere was nice too. Just a shame on this occasion the food did not hit the mark!! This will not stop us visiting again but on this occasion it was disappointing.

What a great lunch with two friends! The food was fabulous, the welcome very warm, the service was first class and the environment very pleasant. I booked the Bricklayers off an internet search to be halfway for us and our friends and made a terrific choice. Big thank you to the staff!

Fantastic food and great value for the money.

Another fantastic evening at Cheikhos in Oadby. The food was absolutely excellent, full of flavour and beautifully cooked, and the service was amazing as always. Even though the restaurant was busy, we were so well looked after and never felt forgotten or rushed. We’ve eaten here many times and it’s consistently a lovely experience with great service and outstanding food. Highly recommended.
