Food was fantastic , perhaps more vegetables for the meals would be better we struggled between 6 of us and for the price would expect a little more on the plate, Dessert was fantastic, lovely atmosphere. Only negative , service was poor staff seen to be standing chatting behind the bar when we had all finished our meals empty plates left for around 20 minutes , our drinks were empty and no one came to check if we wanted more drinks , we waited a while to pay the bill and had to ask staff to come over, there appears to not be much staff visibility on the floor instead they were chatting behind the bar. Sunday Lunch today was not bad. We all thought the meal was overpriced for what is served. It would have been nice to have more vegetables between 4 of us - and that they would have been fresh, local produce . A few minor improvements would have made us want to book again - the food cooled very quickly because it was all served on cold plates and bowls. It was very quiet, peaceful and relaxing , staff were prompt and polite, but we will be reluctant to book again.

First visit for my friends and they loved it. Had the Christmas menu. The mushroom and butternut squash vegetarian was absolutely delicious and the friends who had the Christmas turkey said it was delicious. Followed by the best cheesecake in town, a lovely meal in all.

My wife and I visit The Kitchen on a regular basis. The quality and quantity of the food is always good and I believe it is very reasonable in terms of value for money. The service really does depend on how busy they are at the time. Normally it is good but when it is busy, it is very easy to get overlooked as the powers of observation by some of the younger staff leaves a lot to be desired! The majority of the staff are extremely pleasant and polite with only one exception! They try very hard in terms of atmosphere and brightening up the place, but as someone else stated, it can by quite cold at times, especially when seated near a window. Apart from that, I would still recommend The Kitchen as a decent place to eat with mostly pleasant staff and good quality food available and we will be back again very soon.

A group of us went for lunch on Thursday. We are not easy to please and are often disappointed in some aspect or other of meals out, even in so called 'top' restaurants. However, this was not one of those occasions. The food was exceptional, even the vegetables which were perfectly cooked. Service was superb also. Only very slight negative was the coffee. I just feel sorry for people that may pop in for a coffee and then judge the whole restaurant on that experience and never return. But we will be returning for sure.

IT WAS A COLD DAY AND WE ARRIVED AT 6PM FOR OUR MEAL. AFTER 30 MINS WE REALISED WE WERE GETTING COLDER AND THAT PRESUMABLY THERE WAS LITTLE OR NO HEATING IN THE BUILDING. IT DIDN'T HELP THAT WE WERE GIVEN A SEAT BY A COLD WINDOW.

The food and staff are lovely. We can always get a table there. The food is very reasonably priced.

Brilliant atmosphere, nice and clean, and modern. Food choice was basic for lunch with only a few options, a good burger or similar would of been better than pie or fish and chips, however it was good and presented amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful and knowledgeable on the local team. Credit to Rachel and Lisa W for making us feel welcome.

Sunday lunch very good as usual, except roast potatoes which were a little chewy!

Food was lovely. Only one complaint the starter came out with the main meal, so garlic bread with pie and chips was novel.

I booked a table for 6.30pm on the 2nd Nov, I received a call on the day at around 4pm by a member of staff of The Kitchen. I was asked whether I could come earlier as they wanted to close the Restaurant as it was quiet. The website states the pub/restaurant is open until 11pm?!? I advised the person on the phone that I can only come in at 6.30pm. We arrived at 6.30pm and was shown to our table. However, we were made to feel quite uncomfortable as it was clear the staff wanted to close the Restaurant and go home. We left at around 7.30pm and found another pub nearby that was open until 11pm!

Booked a table for 6.30pm Tuesday 2.11.21 got a call and voicemail at 4pm asking if we could go earlier as it was quiet and they wanted to shut early !! Why take a late booking in fact why take bookings after lunchtime if it’s a regular occurrence cancelled the table and found an alternative venue.It’s fair to say I will avoid this place in future poor way to run a business

Visited on the 27th a table of 10, the food was excellent lovely place to meet up and the staff could not be helpful enough. will visit again

3 of us went for a meal Wednesday evening. The comment we asked be passed on was that it was one of the nicest meals we had eaten for a long time. Staff were friendly and attentative. No long waits for food and drink Lovely atmosphere. Overall fab experience
