Excellent food and value, and really friendly staff. Recommended!
Yums Oriental Buffet – Liverpool City CentreI visited this restaurant with my work colleagues one Monday lunchtime. There were ten of us, and I too though there had been a mistake with the price! This restaurant is well worth the money; the food is excellent and the service great. In a city where there is a huge choice of restaurants, Bistro Jacques comes top of my list!
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreMy recommendation for this restaurant would be not to to eat there. My partner and I went last night and ordered two simple main course fish and chips and a burger. The meals took 50 minutes to arrive at our table, and when they did, the burger was completely dried out and solid (could hardly cut through it) and the toasted bun had obviously been in the microwave. The waiter took the meals away, and whilst he offered a replacement free of charge, at no time did the manager have the courtesy (or perhaps courage) to come and apologise. The service and the food were of great disappointment, and as we were held up finding somewhere else to eat, we were unable to get to the cinema in time for the film we wanted to see.
OSQA – Liverpool City CentreThis venue spoils itself at the end of the night when the two bouncers come in and demand everyone leaves "now!". You are not asked to leave, you are TOLD to leave in a very unfriendly and threatening manner. Non of out party will return again.
Blundell Street Supper Club – Liverpool City CentreThe service at Pushka was relaxed to say the least; we waited an hour and a half following starters, it was nearly mid-night before we got our main The waiter was very abrupt and looked like he was under the influence of SOMETHING. The whole experience is one that I would like to forget as it spoilt our night completely-very disappointed.
Puschka – Liverpool City CentreWent on Saturday 26/1/8 in a party of 8, We could not find fault anywhere. It was excellent. Fantastic food and atmosphere. Not exactly cheap but why should it be, you get what you pay for and this was quality
Piccolino – Liverpool City CentreWhile visiting the Holocaust exhibition I decided to give the try out the Eatery. I was amazed to see ALL the Food on offer was Homemade!{ a rarity these days!} It was a very busy place and the Staff were VERY polite, friendly{without being intrusive} and attentive. Which was lovely and made the meal enjoyable! The place itself is a niche in the Anglican Cathedral and has huge glass windows so you can enjoy the views. The meal was Hot.The Food was ALL fresh ingredients {only the Peas were from a tin}The Sunday Lunch was lovely and you get decent portions.Very reasonably priced, in fact one of the cheapest Sunday Lunches Iv ever had in Liverpool or Wirral and one of the most enjoyable! Highly Recommend! If you haven't been there go now and see for yourself. 10/10
The Welsford – Liverpool City CentreThe Quarter was recommended by a number of people and so I was looking forward to a good night. On arrival the table booked was shoehorned next to the service counter but was just about bareable for a cosy restaurant. Starters were fine. The main arrived - the lasagne - it was slightly burnt. On pointing this out to the serving waitress, her response was, "that's how it's supposed to be" - I've never heard such nonsense! A chef should not allow burnt (and I mean black carbon) food to go out and the waitress should be able to make a more considered evaluation of the quality of the food in her hand and understand the customer's complaint!
The Quarter – Liverpool City CentreVisited Il Forno on Friday after a friend suggested we eat there. I wasn't disappointed with the food, £10.95 for starter of Scallops and Main Meal of Italian Sausages with Polenta (although to be honest if you didn't want pasta or pizza for a main course I though the starters selection was better!). I can't comment on the atmosphere as it was a very late lunch and the place was empty but we loved the pizza oven.
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreMei Mei is one of the best restaurant you will ever visit in your life, the food is beyond belief. The prices are a bit steep but the food is out of this World. Only go if you like chinese food as if you order English food you get the impression that you will be shot on the spot. As you walk in ask for the dim sum menu and don't be scared to experiment. Everything is perfect, sure the service is a bit slow but masterpieces take time.
Mei Mei – Liverpool City Centrei love kimo's. always fast, efficient and friendly service and the food is great. perfect place for lunch and i usually go twice a week. the Mediterranean breakfast is amazing. cannot recommend highly enough!
Kimos – Liverpool City CentreI went here for the lunch special which was fantastic and well worth it, the food was great and a lovely atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, I will be returning in the near future. Superb!!!
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreLove going to Tai Pan and seeing all the Chinese families sat eating and chatting over lunch. The food here is good and the dim sum menu is excellent. Its always busy which is a good sign but better still it always is full of chinese.. what more can you say! The supermarket is an ideal place to buy all your asian needs. Love popping in and having a wander down the aisles while i am home and seeing what is missing from my kitchen!
Tai Pan Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreI loved this restaurant but am sad that its been taken over? There is no Walter the happy chap who always made my daughter smile with Tales he could eat more peking duck than her? All the staff have changed and so has the food unfortunately? I may try it again but i think that i will be trying to find somewhere new for my dim sum and peking duck fix! (sigh)
Shangrila Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreOne of the best Chinese Restaurants outside China, i know this having lived in Liverpool most of my life but now living in Asia. With its red and white chequered Table cloths and the ducks and pork hanging in the window, its like downtown Hong Kong or Shanghai, and yes the food is as good. It doesn't need to be all dressed to the hilt as the Food screams at you that its wonderful and homely and has been cooked by someone who knows what their doing and has passion and is not doing it for the Money as most of the Chinese Restaurants do in the UK... Try this place if you want good food but if its a nice restaurant that you want a romantic dinner then go elsewhere but for food this place is amazing!
Ma Bo Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreSuch wonderful food is rather unfortunately undermined by the utter sense of arrogance and sheer incompetence of the poorly trained staff. With this venue having become so popular, I'm inclined to wonder if complacency has bred contempt?
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreWe went in our dinner hour and the service was well within the hour to get us back to work on time food was delicious we had Caesar salad, mushrooms in crispy bread with melted cheese, pasta with chicken and chicken peppercorn sauce with potatoes and veg for dessert we had chocolate rolls with cream we got back to work and told are workmates we are even coming this Thursday lunchtime for a friends birthday
Bistro Pierre – Liverpool City Centreme and my friend lydia went this restaurant on are dinner time, i thought the food was outstanding and the service was brilliant lydia was especially happy with the desert a he-he all in all 10 out of 10
