La Vina – Liverpool City CentreA real treat for Liverpool, quite different from anything else and the deli is a much needed addition to the city. Its easy to miss, even though in the centre of town, and doesn't seem to be that well known when talking to locals, but that’s adds to the feeling of delight when you do find it and realise you’ve discovered a gem. Then brag about it to your friends! Belly pork was excellent on my last trip, but neither myself nor my friends have ever complained about any of the food or drink here, its all good. Particularly love the banquettes, which give a feeling of intimacy and privacy lost in many modern restaurants where you're made to sit cheek by jowl to everyone else. Good service too.
Delifonseca – Liverpool City CentreWe went to Mayur in its opening week and the first thing that struck me was its opulent decor. It has a chic but relaxed atmosphere and my friends and I had a really enjoyable night. This is a really well designed restaurant with attentive staff, excellent service and exceptional food. I'm not usually a big fan of Indian cuisine but this is not your average Indian restaurant! My husband (a self proclaimed Indian cuisine connoisseur) thought the restaurant was great and I thought the food was well presented and very tasty. I would definitely recommend a visit to see for yourselves!
Mayur – Liverpool City CentreMe and the wife dont get out that often with the kids still being young, so it when we do we want make sure we enjoy our evening. The Maharaja definitely doesn't disappoint, from the moment you arrive to when you leave you will experience a culinary delight. For those you expecting the usual suspects on an Indian menu think again as virtually all the menu is unrecognisable. But what does appear is delicately cooked and tastes magnificent. To top it all they also do takeaway now so we can now get our fix of the Maharaja more often. 5 out of 5.
Maharaja South Indian Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreWent to Kimos last night 09/07/07 and was blown away by the food - the best patatas bravas I've ever had and that includes from Spanish restaurants. The atmosphere is great as is the decor. If this place had a license I would never leave! This usually puts me off but wont let it in the future.
Kimos – Liverpool City CentreSapporo is the number 1 place to eat in Liverpool. The time you spend there is enjoyable from start to finish, whether you are in a group or just a couple you will have a fun night. The food is amazing and the staff are very polite. If you have not yet tried it you are missing out!!
Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool – Liverpool City CentreI was very surprised to find out that this is part of a chain - because the food was very very good. The menu has a great choice, from small snacks to more substantial dishes. I had a pancake filled with smoked haddock and baked in a white sauce and cheese, which was very tasty, my boyfriend went for a chicken salad - sounds boring but it wasn't. It had a nice selection of really green leaves, meaty chunks of chicken and loads of good blue cheese. The prices can seem a bit dear, but after tasting the food I think it was worth every penny. We had decent wine, and the service was good, helpful but not in your face. The restaurant itself is decked out like a Parisian cafe - and a very convincing effort it is. I definitely recommend this place.
Cafe Rouge – Liverpool City CentreFantastic place, great food, superb service really friendly nice loos.
The Egg Vegetarian Restaurant and Cafe – Liverpool City CentreI have visited this restaurant regularly over the last few years and have always found the food, service and pricing to be of an excellent standard. This is a restaurant that I would certainly recommend to visitors to the city - it is a place where they can enjoy delicious Chinese food in the heart of Liverpool's China Town.
China City – Liverpool City CentreHave been here four or five times now and the food is always tasty, fresh and packed with flavour. The menu has a good choice with sandwiches and soups to hearty hot main meals. Have recommended to all my friends, and the deli is great also, Liverpool was in dire need of somewhere like this.
Delifonseca – Liverpool City CentreLa Tasca is a lovely restaurant, the outside area is great to enjoy the sun. The waiter are friendly, attentive and as far as I can tell all from Latin country. The atmosphere inside is great. The food is good value, but nothing like a Spanish tapas. The patatas bravas were extremely disappointing. I wouldn't go back for food, I think there are much better places in Liverpool. But I would go there for a drink.
La Tasca – Liverpool City CentreFrosty reception from the maitre d' who wouldn't seat us until the last man in a group of 12 had arrived, and when finally seated, it was on a creaky bench almost about to break. We ordered almost 30 tapas and 6 paellas to share which was far too much food. By this time the staff had become less frosty and quite helpful. They got a few of the tapas orders mixed up and we had to chase a few missing ones, but it all got sorted in the end. It certainly helps to remember what you ordered. The wine was lovely. Really convenient online booking service, no deposit, and we were not rushed to leave while we had our hot drinks and desserts (a weekday evening). Overall, we had a really good night despite the few criticisms.
La Vina – Liverpool City CentreAlong with 19 others I visited the Bistro on a Tuesday evening and was really impressed by everything about the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the service outstanding. We were going to the theatre and they managed to feed and water 20 of us within 2 hours! We will certainly be going back!
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreThis is an attractive restaurant but on the Friday night we eat there it was quiet and lacked atmosphere. The food was variable with some very good dishes and one (the gnocchi) with slightly off flavours. The service was good but a little uncoordinated. The meal was not expensive (around £100 including drinks) for three and I will go again.
Ziba Restaurant and Bar – Liverpool City CentreI went to this retaurant with one of my friends who is Italian himself. I had never been there before but thinking if he recommended it, it had to be good. We were seated quickly and we were looked after throughout the night. We sat in front of the large pizza oven and salivated whilst we waited for our food to be prepared. I was absolutely stuffed by the end of it. Food was Excellent. I'm going there again this weekend for my Dads birthday!! Highly recommended!
Il Forno – Liverpool City CentreHello, visited Savina this weekend, we were recommended to visit by our friends, and since we were in Liverpool we thought we would give it a try. However when we arrived on Saturday evening it was fully booked. So, instead we went back on the Sunday before heading home. This restaurant was everything that was recommended to us. The atmosphere was fantastic we really enjoyed our evening. The staff are very friendly, and most importantly the food was fantastic to, my wife tried the Red Savina Salsa (which was extremely hot) the waiter had told us that if we eat all the Salsa he will give us a bottle of wine, the thought of having a bottle of wine on the house was very tempting but the salsa was way to hot. I would urge anyone to give Savina a whirl. A+++
Savina – Liverpool City CentreThe best food I have eaten in Liverpool, fantastic starter of sardines in a spicey tomato sauce, perfect meal.
Alma De Cuba – Liverpool City CentreWe love it here - perfect for special occasions TLCW is Liverpool's best dining experience.
