I ate at the Monro last week and was amazed at the quality of the food and the incredibly attentive staff. I can thoroughly recommend it as what you pay at some higher end places just does not compare. Am going again for the roast on Mothers Day and I can't wait as I'm intolerant to additives and the chefs don't put anything in their food that shouldn't be there. So I will be able to enjoy a totally chilled afternoon with my family. I'm hoping its warm enough for the beer garden, it truly is a little gem.
The Monro – Liverpool City CentreMy family and i have eaten in your restaurants twice in the past two weeks, the meals are amazing and the service is excellent.
Pietra Bar and Restaurant – WaterlooBeen several times with family, good varied menu but the steaks are definitely outstanding, happy atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable waiters who reel off the specials with ease, reasonable priced for very good food, will be going back at first opportunity.
Sorrento – Formbygood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mayflower – Liverpool City CentreA fantastic Italian restaurant, I started going to the Casa as a student in 1982, and still love it. Great food, excellent service and good prices. Italian is my favourite food, and this is my favourite restaurant.
Casa Italia – Liverpool City CentreAnother visit, another outstanding meal. The wonderful thing about this place is that the service is just as outstanding as the food. You can linger all you like over your meal - the staff don't hurry you, and you can be sure that as a result you'll be back again & again - just like me!
Elif – AigburthFood just ok, but object to being charged £7.60 for 2 pints of lemonade for my teetotal son. I don't mind paying more than I would in a pub but I do feel this was rather excessive. However when I queried it as I was paying the bill, I was told "I don't set the tariff", hardly what I would call good customer service. Needless to say, we won't be back. Go to the Riverhill or the Grove House for a fantastic meal and a bar bill that you won't need to take out a mortgage for!
The Manor – GreasbyIts not often that I have such a poor experience n a restaurant that I feel the need to write about it.. however after visiting the Spice Lounge recently I do feel a complaint is justified. My wife and I ate here recently and found all aspects of this place rubbish. The curries are appalling, the service is indifferent and the cost is extortionate. For 2 starters 2 curries with rice and 3 cokes? £53. You can eat in the Malmaison for less. On top of that they slapped on a 10% service charge. It wouldn't be so bad if the food was good but it wasn't. My kebab starter was bland and dry and came with a brown (should have been green) salad. The curries were dreadful and tasted very synthetic. Avoid.
Spice Lounge – Liverpool City CentreThis place looks like a take away from the outside but when you get in you see there are a few tables laid. The service is excellent and the food is the nicest and freshest I have every tasted. It only charges take away prices too! I will definitely be returned. A hidden jem of an Indian in Old Swan.
Spice Garden – West Derbyi visited the bakers dozen on 20/3/11 with my partner ,the food was brilliant and excellent value, we have relatives visiting from both Spain and the isle-of man on 27/03/11 and we intend eating again at the bakers dozen aintree brilliant what more can i say highly recommended
Bakers Dozen – BootleWithout doubt, the Tai Pan is the most consistent Chinese restaurant in Liverpool for quality of food and its pricing is second to none. In every respect, it is the most outstanding Chinese restaurant within Merseyside. At one time in the past, Tai Pan had the most beautiful female receptionist (Mei). WOW!
Tai Pan Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreWe ate from the a la carte dinner menu and can honestly say this was the worst meal we have had for many years. The Chef - if there was an actual Chef - had no knowledge of food whatsoever. All 4 diners had both starters and mains which were flavourless, not as described in the menu and virtually inedible. After complaining to the waiter - who was eventually helpful - he consulted the manager who did not even bother to come and speak to us although she agreed that we shouldn't pay for any main courses.in a bid to salvage the evening we ordered a cheeseboard and were served up a few dog ends of cheese - not the selection described on the menu. After further complaints the skater served us a decent cheeseboard - we believe independently of the 'Chef' Needless to say we will not be returning. Very disappointing. Given the great location it is a Shem that there is not a good restaurant there serving good food competently.
Sheldrakes – HeswallLovely food and lovely service at a very good price. Nice to have a very good restaurant like this in our area. RECOMMEND.
Nova – HeswallThe food was second. To none, the service was quick, And the price was very good,we will be going back
Zen – West DerbyHad a great meal recently, the service and food is excellent, and as other reviews have said it is quite different from most of the Indian restaurants around. The starters are really substantial and the naan bread to die for. All in all a very good night the food and service very good, will be going back again soon
Saffron – Waterloobeautiful ! high quality fresh ingredients with too many tasty sounding options.portions are big especially the starters.try the reshmi chicken ,it melts in the mouth.service really good ,maybe a little stuffy at times but overall fab.i could eat their 5 times a week !
Red Fort – AigburthOff to Owens again tonight with friends, you would think there was nowhere else to eat but we know we can't go wrong. We have taken friends from America and Scotland and all agree it is an enjoyable dining experience and its right on our doorstep! The food is most enjoyable, especially the scallops and sea bass.I was there recently with a friend and she was served white bread with her soup which she cannot eat so we asked if there was any brown bread. Unfortunately they had run out but our waiter disappeared into the kitchen and came out with some delicious, hot, brown bread which the chef very kindly gave us-it was his own bread that he had shopped for to take home- how about that for service!
