Highly recommend this pub! Good beers, great staff and the food is beyond comparison at thie price. The pound and a penny meals are lovely, and for 30p more than it would cost for a packet of crisps.

The Hightown – Formbyamazing. Total bliss. Food glorious. Ambiance, staff both amazing. Such value for money. Totally awesome
Bistro Jacques – Liverpool City CentreThis is the best South American restaurant in town. We spent a lovely evening here for my daughters birthday. We booked in advance and were seated in the restaurant upstairs which is cosy and vibrant (the ground floor is more of a bar/bistro affair and great for margaritas as we found out later!). All of our party of 8 found the food delicious, the service excellent and we will definitely be coming back again soon. 10 out of 10 to all at Que Pasa Cantina.
Que Pasa Cantina – AigburthService was not as good as expected. There had been an overbooking at the time that we were due to eat and staff left us waiting near the door for 10 minutes for our table. Although the food was very good, it seemed a little over-priced. With improved service and cheaper pricing, I would recommend.
Spice Lounge – Liverpool City CentreKarma is not only my favourite Indian restaurant, but my favourite place to eat bar none. Friendly & attentive staff, excellent food and good value combine to make a compelling package. The menu contains some of the old favourites as well as new and interesting dishes with the Karma twist. If you enjoy your food (& good artwork!) you must try Karma.
Karma – West KirbyThe Saffron stands apart from other Indian restaurants in Crosby. The food is fabulous (not just the usual stock dishes) and very well presented, with a modern feel. We have been a couple of times with children and they have made special meals with a milder flavour (a welcome change from chicken nuggets). Everything we have tried off the menu has been delicious and exceeds your expectations. Highly recommended.
Saffron – Waterloonando's serves the best tasting chicken I have ever been served..delicious & succulent
Nando’s – Liverpool City Centredefo go to uni best in town been 5 times now love it
Uni Restaurant – Liverpool City CentreI have been to Bistro Pierre many, many times. No matter what time of year the food, service and ambience never falters. BP is excellent value for money. I recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly.
Bistro Pierre – Liverpool City CentreYet another fantastic meal in bistrot verite southports hidden gem !!!
Bistrot Verite – SouthportWe had a really nice evening, friendly staff, good food and nice ambience. Highly recommended, Its great little place as you get to take your own alcohol and don’t get charged, don’t worry if you forget as there is wine shop right next door! Quality
Tiffin – ChildwallSuperb! We go back time and time again! Never a bad dish!
Siam Restaurant – GreasbyEat here several times in the last eight weeks. Food is always fresh and great value. No draught beer but a brilliant selection of bottled beers from around the world at very reasonable prices. Good wine menu for a new young business and friendly floor staff. House wine starts at just £6.95 a bottle and is very drinkable but the also sell a very nice Chateau Neuf Du Pape for about £28 as well as a variety of other wines in between. Can be very busy at weekends so would recommend booking in advance. Also very nice place to enjoy a bottle of wine or two with nibbles and watch the world go by if you can get a table by the window.
The Clove Hitch Bistro and Bar – Liverpool City Centreenjoyed a quiet Monday evening out for tea, really authentic Thai food best one in Liverpool to date and I've eaten in most of them. would recommend fish cakes and panang beef curry was excellent well done to the chef. very friendly staff.
Chaba Chaba Thai Restaurant – Mossley HillJust had a meal from the chabachaba. Soooo, disapointed. The spring rolls were cold ,obviously frozen supermarket stock and then microwaved before serving. The mixed vegetables in oyster sauce were also cold and tasteless. The chicken with chillie rice was stodgy and mediocre and felt like it had been warmed up and then served again. The king prawns with chillies and holy basil were cold and obviously frozen prawns. We informed the manager, when ordering, that we did not like coriander in any way with our food, all the food was covered in it.This was our first and last time we patronise this restaurant.Tonight was a test run for a booking for a birthday party for 20 people. What a pity the new restaurant on the block is so poor. Never mind, back to the Siam Garden down the road.
Chaba Chaba Thai Restaurant – Mossley HillMy wife and I called in this week when visiting Southport and had a very pleasant lunch. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her linguine with crayfish and I had a superb pizza. The base was the equal best in the U K beaten only by the ultimate from a Vancouver Micro Brewery where the Parmesan base was awesome. Coupled the food with an Aruuzzi beer and a Montepulchiano wine and two coffees and we were in lunch heaven. We will return when next over. Many thanks
Casa Italia – SouthportI'm somewhat hesitant to write this. it's not a bad review, quite the contrary; the problem is that at the moment I can get a table without booking. If too many people find out about them, I'll have to book which would be a pain. But these chaps are turning out such good food that they deserve praise.. The restaurant doesn't have the location factor, it's on the small road that goes through Maghull parallel to the A59, and even if you were passing it's small and you wouldn't notice it. So I hope this sends at least a few curryheads their way. I lived on brick lane in London for 5 years and visited Leicester and Southall for about 15 years. So I'm unashamedly a curry snob. I find most curry houses up here in the Grim Northwest a bit formulaic and undistinguished. it's also rare to find someone that specifically has proper Bangladeshi dishes on the menu, even though most Indian restaurants are in fact Bangladeshi. So I was really pleased when a mate told me that a new place had opened up near where I live that did 'Naga chicken'. In case you're not familiar, naga mirchi is the name bangladeshi's give to some fearsomely hot chillis from bangladesh (aka naga moric, naga jolokia). That was a good sign, as proper Bangladeshi food is very good. The Bring Your Own beer is good too, they charge £1/head for corkage but when you consider a bottle of Cobra that costs £1.60 in Asda or somewhere gets sold at rip-off prices for £3+ in most Indians, So £1/head is a bargain. Add a few more beers and you're not being ripped off by a long way. The food is excellent. the only Indian I would compare it to is Shimla pinks in manchester before that went downhill, I'd say the unpretentious little Bay of Bengal now does some of the best food in the North West. Things to try: the Dil Joka is the naga chicken dish. I tried it with lamb, and it packs a punch. by the end, my stomach went into shock briefly (suitably calmed down with a chilled pear cider). I recognised immediately that they use Mr Naga chilli paste, not chilli powder. Mr. Naga has a unique flavour. the food wasn't oily at all, just tasty, and what was strange was that despite the heat from the Mr. Naga, I could taste the lamb. Note I said lamb, most restaurants serve mutton. And despite the volcanic heat, as they didn't use just chilli powder for heat but Mr Naga, I didn't have a ringburner then next day. My wife had a spinach chicken dish, which was also excellent. She's normally a chicken korma only girl, so for her to praise this so highly is unheard of. Next time we went, I had the lamb tikka balti pepped up with a dollop of Mr Naga at my request; fantastic, really delicious. My wife tried the chicken masala which was also very good if a little sweet for my savoury tastes. We've since had takeaways, Our niece who doesn't usually like pilao rioce scoffed the pilao rice they'd mistakenly included and asked for a second helping. I am trying different dishes out as we go along, they're all damn good and that Mr Naga is a real winner. that's the sign of a good indian, where you don't just choose your regular favourite, but try and eat your way around the menu as it's all just so tasty. One thing I wold recommend every time - a mixed vegetable bhajia sidedish. It's spiced but very subtly, it's fantastic, one of the best side dishes I've ever had. The spinach bhajia is also very good but not as good as the mixed veg one. if you like good curry that's not the usual patak's flavoured slop swimming in oil, but that tastes of the spices and ingredients, give this place a try.
Bay Of Bengal – BootleRe Gt Charlotte St. branch Liverpool: Went (2 of us), on a Tuesday lunch time, beginning of October. Never been to this branch, but have been several times to one in Hoylake. Just wanted a simple reasonable meal - & (thought) knew what to expect. Decor etc: Dark, dingy, grubby feel- (should have taken as a hint) . Ploughmans was not available- so my friend chose all day breakfast- not great I had vegetable & noodle dish, with added chicken- hot chilli- but cold temperature. Friend had to plump for 3rd choice of lager as again, choice not available. Went to toilet- The 'check list' said checked regularly- but I dont know what they check, not state of toilets obviously: Ist - lock broken, 2nd, no paper, 3rd baby nappy on floor, 4th had to do although still no lock. Generally poor state of affairs
