New Orchid Garden – West DerbyWent last Friday (12/9/08), had a really lovely meal, the staff were excellent, the food was hot plentiful and nicely served, and the cost was very reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice Chinese meal out.
New Orchid Garden – West DerbyWe visited the Monro on Sunday 7th September and we were very disappointed, we had been several times and always found the service and food very good....however whilst we received our starter and waiting an extra 50 minutes for the main meal - other diners had received all of their courses including coffees and bills....when we asked where our starter was we were told- chef said 5 mins! after 15 mins(in total 50 mins) we received our main....the chicken dishes were just about cooked and I left mine because I was concerned about the colour of the chicken....when I paid the bill I raised my concerns about waiting so long and was told that the chef wouldn't have forgotten us and not given any other explanation....we paid £60 for a very poor meal and service...we were going to book the monro for my son's birthday but not now....we won't be going back
The Monro – Liverpool City Centrethis really isn't a recommendation I'm afraid. we went to this restaurant with high expectations, the place was great, the location very nice, the people and service excellent and the menu looked brilliant, then the food actually came out!! the steak fillet was burnt and that was the only thing on the plate and this did not come with anything else, so please order sides with your dish's and for just under £20.00 for a plate with a burnt small piece of meat in the middle and no other taste apart from charcoal so order drinks. my partner had the 'half of lobster' and being realistic i just thought this was a oversized shrimp on her plate, but to be fair this was very very tasty indeed. far to pricey for the food produced. in the end we left and went to go and find another restaurant to make us full (we are average sized people, bordering on skinny.) all in all i have had better meals at a brewsters for nearly %70 of the cost. i just think this place is here to rip off the tourist.

Sapporo Teppanyaki Liverpool – Liverpool City CentreHurray....a bar with warm friendly staff and customers. Stylish and comfortable, definitely has the edge. Love the food, upstairs is very boutique feeling. And the music is excellent. Thank you a venue to feel 100% easy, and great value too.
Schmooze Wine Bar and Eatery – Mossley HillSince our last visit the prices of some dishes have increased dramatically.£22.95 surf & turf? As a family we eat out a lot and I don't think the prices here are competitive, especially in view of the current economic climate. Food was ok, and served quickly by our very friendly and attentive waitress. However, the owner glared at us after we had mentioned the price increases and shortly after finishing our first drinks, asked us rather frostily "Do you WANT another drink?". We used to eat here quite regularly before the current ownership. We won't be going again.
Astoria – West Kirbywe have had lunch here quite a few times. The service is good, the food fast arriving and really tasty. They really seem to cater well for those of us that are taking lunch in a rush. I have tried many things on the menu and never been disappointed i don't know how they do it for the price.
Jasmine Tree Restaurant – SouthportWe went in for lunch. We arrived early within 20 minutes the place was packed always the sign of a good restaurant! The food was fine I had the obligatory spaghetti bolognese (something i always do to gauge an Italian restaurant before returning for something more adventurous.) The atmosphere good I would definitely return if only because the place felt special. The only draw back was the hike to the loo upstairs!
