As always lunch and service were excellent. Our first choice for a local venue.

The Chequers is a little gem, slightly out of the way but well worth seeking out. Sells beer from a local brewery and a good selection of well cooked and well priced food. Excellent service, they even charged up our phone for us. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely return to when in the area again.

A very enjoyable meal and such good value with plenty of choice. I had a sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection. Despite being very busy we had great service .

Lovely pub with attractive garden. Great food. Cod loin was beautifully cooked & good value. Staff really friendly, helpful & excellent service. Used to come here years ago, so pleased to find it’s still just as good. Easy walking distance from campsite. Can highly recommend

Proper old fashioned pub. Great atmosphere, Excellent meal, (We had the special fish, which was fresh and beautifully cooked.) Lovely puddings, Nice wine. Great service. Fair price. Will definitely come again.

Lovely garden and very helpful staff but the food was the star attraction for us. We had tuna steaks, sea bass and lamb shank, all of which were delicious with perfectly cooked fresh vegetables. Atmosphere good but some of the language from the next table was a bit crude but not the pub’s fault and not a big deal for us.

Outstanding food , outstanding service and everyone is so friendly , will return again and again … Great quirky decor and lovely garden areas I can’t say enough about the food , it’s so obviously cooked with a flourish of someone who knows their flavours and their obvious flare with food shows in every bite

A really enjoyable lunch. Fish special was cooked well and we loved all the vegetables and the excellent, cheerful service. Lots of choice - both starters and mains - and all are good value. Always enjoy coming here, very relaxing atmosphere. Thank you!

Absolutely lovely roast dinner!

We all enjoyed our Sunday roasts although the potatoes weren’t as good as usual (a bit dry & could have done with a bit more roasting) & the red cabbage more vinegary than usual. However, I do love the the fact that we’re given a large dish of fresh veg & plenty of meat.

After a walk round the marshes, we enjoyed the great variety of menu items plus fish specials, and what we had for lunch was delicious. We appreciated the yachting photos and animal paintings. Service was prompt and efficient, with no obligatory surcharge, and we all felt that the bill was good value.

Our second visit here to celebrate Dad's 89th birthday and we were not disappointed. Delicious good, great service and lovely , cosy atmosphere made for a very enjoyable evening. Would definitely recommend a visit. Thankyou to all who looked after us

Excellent evening meal. Plenty of choice, reasonable prices, great service, lovely atmosphere. The pork medallions were lovely!

Came for a birthday lunch. Food was absolutely lovely and really good value. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be visiting again.
