Great proper pub, serving proper pub grub by a great team in a great location
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonFood OK ish...Had to sit in a cold tent adjoining the pub for a late evening meal..tent was not heated ( it is Autumn) and we paid just under £45 for 2 cod and chips, a glass of Chardonnay and a pint of lager.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonDelightful traditional pub. The food was great and reasonably priced. The service was exceptional, friendly, polite and attentive. Well worth a visit.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLovely warm welcome , food simple, well cooked , tasty pub classics . We enjoyed our lunch but the pub is really in need of refurbishment or at least redecoration.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonVisited again and not disappointed. Very busy bank holiday Sunday but we had booked ahead. Lovely sea food, generous portions and all served with a smile under great pressure!
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe visited the chequers for a mid week lunch, we sat in the restaurant area and was served by 2 very pleasant ladies, the prawn cocktail was a very good size and the ham egg and chips was lovely, the ham being decent thick cut home cooked ham, we would certainly return
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLovely pub, nice friendly staff within walking distance from campsite. Asked to exchange salad for garlic bread and was told they would do what they could depending who the chef was and if they could ask him.....we didnt get told so no garlic bread was served, lasagne wasn't great but roasts were good, although the mains were served before we'd finished our starters.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonOur first visit to the Chequers and we were all delighted with the Pub. Service was good, the menu had a very good range of options, all the meals were excellent, we all went away very happy. Would recommend.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWe revisited The Chequers having happy memories of previous visits, this time with our young family and what a great Sunday lunch it was. The sun shone as we were guided to the garden and the children were all happy with their choices of a roast dinner. Despite being busy the wait time was acceptable and before we knew it we were tucking into the best Sunday lunch we have had out in ages. The empty plates were a clear sign it was a winner! Staff were very welcoming and pleasant - well trained, organised, even though busy. Drinks choice was okay too. A hidden gem, we will return!
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonMy wife and I had whole sea bass which tasted lovely. We had whitebait and mussels for starters which were also fine. The children were also very satisfied with their food. All in all it was superb and we would go again.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonWhat a lovely find in the New Forest, a short drive away from busy Lymington! It felt like we had stumbled upon a beautiful gem of a pub - it has both a courtyard and pretty garden. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming, and the menu had plenty of options to tempt my foodie family. They were also very accommodating about allergies. I would definitely recommend visiting.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonFood was excellent and able to eat outside in the shade on an extremely hot day!
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonVisited this pub after reading a trip advisor review and wasn’t disappointed, the meal was one of the nicest we’ve had for a while and the steak in particular I couldn’t fault, service was excellent from friendly accommodating staff
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonLovely food great service friendly staff Great outdoor area
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonMy wife and I had an evening meal at The Chequers on 6 July 2022. We haven't visited the pub since we moved from Lymington more than thirty years ago. The range of drinks is superb as is the service. Food wise my wife had the lamb shank and I had the belly pork with black pudding. Both meals were exceptionally good. Both of us opted for new potatoes and fresh vegetables rather than chips and salad. Everything was extremely well cooked and presented. We would both recommend The Chequers without hesitation.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonNice location, good food and initially friendly and engaging staff until half way through our main course and elderly lady in an apron decided that she wanted to place a Reserved name tag and plaque on our table for the next guests. We found this rude and unnecessary and almost a signal for us to ensure we vacated by the time shown on the new name placing. Such a shame as I’m sure she had no idea on how rude we found her actions.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonAll four of us had a delicious meal yesterday, sitting in the sunshine in the lovely, relaxing garden. The helpings were very generous, nutritious and very nicely presented.
The Chequers Inn – LymingtonGreat place. Great Hospitable funny landlord upon arriving. Great staff. Had the mussels which were brilliant.100% going again when back down
