Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreFantastic meal in Albert's, 2 for £10 is a very good value for money offer. Service was very friendly.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City Centregreat night out, steak was cooked to perfection and lemon sole was to die for. Highly recommend.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City CentreLoved our meal at Albert's in Castlefield last Saturday. Fantastic service from Kira and Christine. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Sam.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City CentreThis is an outstanding restaurants. I've been a couple of times and each time I'm not disappointed. Last time i went was yesterday (18/06/10) and the place was empty and i have no idea why!!!! Me and my friend both had the steak and chips. We had a chose of sauces, we chose pepper corn and after a VERY short wait the food arrived. IT WAS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL STEAK I'VE EVER HAD ANYWHERE! Even the chips cooked perfectly, lot of places can't do really good chips but they did. We got a huge mushroom and a whole tomato, not half a whole tomato. The meal was worth more than what i paid for it. Can i give it more than 5 stars?
English Lounge – Northern QuarterBooked one of three traditional Japanese rooms on a Wednesday evening providing privacy. Restaurant was empty at the time (Wednesday evening)but received good attention from owner and waitress. The food was very good. Ordered Sushi and Sashimi platters which my son and wife enjoyed thoroughly. I had the Appetizer platter which was great. Had the much recommended Japanese pancake which was good but not brilliant. Finished off with a couple of desserts which were very nice. Recommended.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreA group of us went to this restaurant to celebrate a friends birthday. I was anticipating an all singing, all dancing venue at the price of £25 per person. Instead I was very disappointed with the set up. Basically you choose your sides of salads, vegetables and stews from a small buffet counter, and as you are eating, a waiter will float round with a different type of meat each time, on a skewer and carve it in front of you. This way you get to try a piece of various meats including lamb, chicken, beef, pork and prawns.... All the meats are cooked over a barbecue type grill - similar to that of a rotisserie set up. The first couple of pieces of meat tasted delicious, and the outlook was promising.... however, by the time we got the 4th piece of meat and thereafter, everything tasted extremely salty, it was like the grill chef (or rather the skewer controller) decided that there was an overspill of salt and felt that it needed to be used! I left almost half of each piece of meat offered, and my plate ended up looking like I did not touch my food! I paid for my teenage daughter (which was not discounted) and myself, and it came to over £70!! The last time I paid these prices was at a Michelin restaurant for a THREE course meal! Needless to say that the experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. The frustrating thing is that I left feeling rather unsatisfied, extremely thirsty, and a very empty pocket! Unless you like salt, I would not recommend anyone to come here... If you are willing to pay the price of over £30 which I often am, then go to a decent restaurant, that serves good quality food and get a 3 course meal!! Drinks included!
Bem Brasil Northern Quarter – Northern QuarterIt was our second visit to Albert's Shed and we were not disappointed. The food was tasty and cooked fresh answer service from Rea was attentive but not intrusive.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City CentreGorgeous venue, lovely bar area with low lighting. Restaurant just as lovely, tables not too close together. Food fantastic, retro with a a modern twist. One of favourite places to eat in Manchester, will definitely be back.
Grand Pacific restaurant and bar – Manchester City CentreGreat night out in Castlefield. Albert's Shed got it wright with staff, level of service and quality of food. Thank you.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City Centrefab night, can not fault anything. Service was attentive and not over intrusive, food cooked to perfection. A warm welcome from blonde short hair manager (sorry didn't get her name). Def will be back.
Alberts Shed – Manchester City CentreExcellent restaurant where everything delivers. First class friendly service, gorgeous food, drinks, ambience. No matter what the occasion I have always had a fabulous time at Stocks and highly recommend a visit. The manager and staff really do go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable evening (or day!).
Stock Restaurant – Manchester City CentreWent with family of 8 to ZOUK and recommend to others unreservedly, great friendly attentive service, great food and good menu and very reasonable at 99 quid for the full hit with drinks too.Easily as good if not better than its Manchester posh Indian foody rivals.High regard .
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreThis place is fabulous!!! amazing sandwiches that fill even my 7ft husband! and a great salad bar. When in Manchester or Bury we wont go anywhere else for lunch..you know its going to be excellent, tasty and very well priced. A guilty secret of mine is to buy a take away lemon cheesecake and eat it in the bath at home...heaven! Also great to use as a deli the ciabatta and sun dried tomatoes are to die for! Top Marks!
Katsouris – Manchester City Centrewent to GBK last night and sat outside in the sun. Awesome burger as ever - had the greek lamb with hummus. Nice fat chips. Good beers to wash it down with. They've done away with the annoying order at the counter idea so that's another bonus.
Gourmet Burger Kitchen – SpinningfieldsI was visiting from California and craving Japanese food and happened to stumble upon this place whilst on a walk with my bf. He's a local and hadn't tried it either, so we thought we would give it a whirl. We went for the buffet, all you can eat style, I'm a very big eater, and frequent all you can eat sushi places all the time. My hunger is rarely satisfied =O. When I ate the buffet at Tokyo Season, not only was the food selection amazing, but I seriously was so satisfied I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day! I had to come back again just to eat there another time! After eating there i couldn't get enough of the place. THEIR GYOZA IS AMAZING! *sigh* I can't wait to go back to Manchester again so I can eat there. I miss it =[
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreI went to Don Marco for my 3 year anniversary and the experience left me disappointed. The food is average, lacking seasoning and didn't taste freshly prepared. The bruscetta was good but the pate tasted like is was made weeks ago, was far too rich and smelled like a wet dog. The calamari, prawn, whitebait, goujon starter included one prawn, far too much whitebait and brakes brother style calamari, a couple of slimy fish goujons and a salad swimming in olive oil. The main course of meatballs comprised of a plate of over cooked spaghetti, unseasoned meatballs and some pasata. It was really bad. We prebooked a table and were still asked to move after the starter to allow a table of six in with no apologies or compensation. I ran a bar / restaurant for a few years and certainly would've comp'ed the drinks (2 diet cokes (which I almost had to beg to get) and a spritzer). The staff were unattentive and left empty glasses on the table when putting fresh drinks down and avoided eye contact. We had to ask for parmesan and black pepper for the main. It didn't feel like the homely relaxed Italian you expect with good food and a warm atmosphere, it was just poor from start to finish. The manager fussed around and wouldn't leave you alone to the point where he could've done with being sedated. Go to Dimitris next door....
