best curry i have ever had
East z East – Manchester City CentreGreat to see Robert Owen Brown back in town and doing what he does best. The Lancashire hot pot was comfort food with a capital C while the fish and chips were crisp, tasty and generously portioned. For dessert I was drawn to the eccles cake with butterscotch sauce and was not disappointed. The Angel was quiet on our weekday early afternoon visit but I can see it getting very busy most of the time.
Angel Pub – Manchester City CentreWe went out this weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday. The best surprise was when they gave a beautiful birthday cake to my friend. We ordered the banquet and it was delicious and tasty. I was so full after the meal. The service was top notch and also very friendly. Loved the restaurant it's got such a good atmosphere. I'll be back. Thank you
Sweet Mandarin – Northern QuarterBeen many times....always excellent freshly cooked food and good service, reasonably priced and gets our vote as consistently the best restaurant in the city.... spicy salsa the best anywhere
Cafe Istanbul – Manchester City CentreWe went here for my birthday the other day - a group of 24 people. They were happy to let us have the table all evening, the service was great and friendly, we had the a la carte menu so we could cater for various diets/food allergies, but the kitchen coped magnificently despite the restaurant being very busy. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was, how good the service was, how good the atmosphere was. We all had a great time. And I found the chairs comfortable (nice as I have a bad back and some Italian restaurants go for those uncomfortable wooden ones). 5*.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreWent in the summer, Friday night @ 5pm. Good job we booked beforehand, the place was packed to the rafters with several people waiting for a table. Food was very good, but not exceptional, service was very good with friendly and attentive staff(even though they were rushed off their feet). Would definitely go again. People who don't like very busy restaurants would probably be better off avoiding TBH.
La Tasca – Manchester City CentreWe dined there last weekend and having not heard of the restaurant I was a little dubious - however the restaurant more than satisfied our needs. The food was excellent, the sushi inparticular which was so fresh, compliments to the chef who is doing an amazing job. Also the service is exceptional, the staff were very attentive and helpful. If you enjoy Japanese food this is a little gem of a restaurant - the next best thing to eating in Japan.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City CentreWould not recommend this chain, the food was very bland and not the cheapest of places to eat. Great to have an open kitchen but not so great to see your mains waiting before you've had your starters! There are plenty of better restaurants in Manchester
The Slug and Lettuce – SpinningfieldsWe went on a extremely busy Friday night, great service but the food was far from great. Tough calamari and a disappointing pasta choice, huge portions of sloppy tagliatelle with a awful creamy tomato sauce. My stomach was churning all night! On the positive side we sat near the kitchen and the pizzas looked really good!
Giovannis – Manchester City CentreA good, varied menu and exceptional service. Staff were more than willing to help us navigate our way through some unknown dishes. Happy to recommend.
Tokyo Season – Manchester City Centrevisited this place last week had the scallops and pig cheeks fantastic service was the best I've had in Manchester taking my wife next week for her birthday
Harvey Nichols Second Floor Restaurant – Manchester City CentreOn Monday 8th sep I had the great pleasure of eating in this what can only be described as the finest chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in. I ordered hot & sour soup which was delightful then for my main meal I had Fillet steak in red chilli which I have had recently in China town in London which compared to this was like eating tasteless rubber. The meal can only be described as being mind blowingly hot I have eaten phals but they were nothing on this every mouthful was bang instant heat as the sichan pepper kicked in. With this I also had egg fried rice which was as fluffy and light as cotton wool. I would give this 10/10 & recommend to anyone who is going to Manchester
Red Chilli – Manchester City CentreWe went to Akbar's on Sunday night - around 9.30 pm so quite late and we only had to wait about 5 minutes. We'd been to the one in Leeds before and loved the food, but I was slightly concerned whether the Manchester restaurant will have the same quality. We weren't disappointed. Gorgeous food that was miles ahead of other restaurants I'd been to (but for the same cost!). My partner had a lamb curry and really commended the quality of the meat. The service was great, our waiter was lovely and really helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was good - though it was a bit noisy clearly everyone was having a great time which creates a good feeling in the place. The lighting was dim, which created a very relaxed atmosphere. Loved it and I will definitely continue to go back for all my curry needs!
Akbars – Manchester City Centrerestaurant was a joke not even busy and the service was terrible is it normal to wait 35 mins for a veggie burger?? i thought not but according to the manager it is normal in this place , very poor customer service
Old Orleans – The PrintworksMy friend and I visited La Vina by chance. We were drawn in through the front door by the live band with Sax on a Friday night. The atmosphere, food and service was excellent and we have both returned since and recommended to our friends there. My favourite restaurant at the moment, I would highly recommend it.
La Vina – Manchester City CentreThe atmosphere (from the decor, to the friendly staff) & the food is great, nice portions, good value for money. Also, I'm Muslim so the Halal meat is a big PLUS!!
Ning – Northern QuarterWe were in Manchester on August bank holiday Monday and used sugarvine to print out a selection of offers for city centre restaurants. After much deliberation we opted for Ning for dinner, We loved it. We took up the offer of 3 coures for £10!!! Fab food, massive portions and great staff. Deserves to succeed
Ning – Northern QuarterLove this place , been around for ages and is still amazing , CHEESECAKE is AWESOME yum yum
Simple Bar and Kitchen – Northern QuarterMeat or Vegetarian Lunch Tiffin, £12.95. Available 12pm-4pm, Monday to Friday.
