Fantastic fresh fish, fabulous friendly facility for feasting OMG - I love food - but this brought my love to another dimension - wow wow wow - I gasped as I was served one of the restaurants spectacular sashimi boats! There are so many different types of fresh fish available in the restaurant including Clam, squid, octopus, Salmon, Sea Bass, Tuna, Prawns and Sea Urchine. The fish is served on a bed of ice cold stripped veg - perfect - I think this represents the flow from ocean to plate (not sure just what i imagined as I slowly enjoyed each mouthful) Infact I enjoyed the service and the food so much I visited twice on the same day as I couldn't resist indulging in a second sashimi boat and the fantastic hospitality For dessert it was a splendid ice cream dish which was served with a glamorous array of chocolate sprinklings, sauce and a crispy chocolate coated waffle I live in Aberdeen Scotland yet wouldn't hesitate on returning to this restaurant again! Believe it or not would actually make the journey South just to appreciate this experience once more Big Thumbs Up!!!! David

Fantastic meal, great service from the minute our car was parked for us to when it was returned at the end of the night. Staff very knowledgeable regarding food and preferences, managing to cater for two pregnant diners and two hungry men. Food very tasty, reasonably priced and attention to detail was great. Hope to see one in my local town very soon. This will be a great venue in summer months but even now with rain battering the windows it was second to none. Loved the decor, loved the atmosphere and loved the food.

We've just been to this fabulous restaurant in Manchester and it's fantastic - a great night out, fab atmosphere, nice staff and great food - we're vegans and there was so much choice we couldn't choose what to have. We'd highly recommend this place to anyone living or visiting Manchester - we'll certainly be returning - time and time again.

We went for a pre-concert meal on Saturday at Sweet Mandarin. It was a buzzy atmosphere, service was really efficient and friendly and the food came out quick and was amazing. I ordered the salt and pepper wings which were so fresh and delicious. My partner ordered the hot and sour soup which had the right balance to it. Then we tried the Shanghai Beef and Mandarin Chicken - both were excellent. I will definitely be recommending Sweet Mandarin to my friends and be returning for more. Thanks for a wonderful meal.

Went to sweet manderin last night and at best I can say is very average. We had the starters combo for 2 which consisted of 2 s&p ribs, very dry and tasteless, prawn toast, quite good, spring rolls, ok, and seaweed, again just ok. Mains I had the claypot chicken which again was alright and my wife had firecracker chicken which was sweet and sour with a bit, and I mean a bit, of chilli. We finished with 2 coffees which were instant! £3.50 for 2 instant coffees! The waiter was cheery, but a friend who knows the family reckon they are all well educated to degree level, well this guys maths was not his major as his adding up was shocking and I had to correct him twice on the bill. Funny though he knew what 10% of everything was.

DO NOT eat here!! I had a hair in my food and the waiter tried to convince me it was mine, despite it being a different colour! He even turned the light on to show me when my friend was still eating her meal... Portions very small and not worth the money at all, even for the early dinner menu!!

PLEASE FORWARD TO THE RESTAURANT - My friend and I dined here on Friday and had the set menu 2 courses for £12 - the portion sizes were tiny and the food was not worth this expensive price. Being vegetarian I had no choice but the mushroom starter and vegetable main course - the starter was certainly not 'salt and pepper' as described, as had no flavour or heat to it and we had to order prawn crackers to fill ourselves up. My friend had the chicken dumplings, which were tiny and served with a few shreds of lettuce. My friend's main course was the worst part, as she found a human hair in her beef shanghai noodles! The waiter then returned to our table holding the hair explaining that it was not the chef's hair as it was the wrong colour and insinuating that it was my friend's hair - even though it was not her hair colour. My main course was far from substantial and was a plate of vegetables consisting of only water chestnuts and chinese leaf in a sauce. There was no vegetarian substitute, e.g. tofu, hence no protein balance as the rice was just plain rice. For £12 a head you are completely ripped off and leave the restaurant still hungry. The waiter was over friendly and this became irritating. I would not return here to eat again and was highly disappointed. The various other chinese restaurants in the city centre offer far better value for money with more extensive choices of food on their set menus, larger adequate portions, 3 courses and all at a cost of between £8 - £10. I think you should research the competition and adapt your menus and service significantly.

Zouk really is the place to be!! Great food, great service, great atmosphere and ambience, 10/10 !!!!! we love it!!! the best burgers, scwharmas, curries in the world...not to forget the deserts simply divine!!! zouk is the best would recommend to everyone for a great night out

I really wanted to try Zouk had heard so many great things and read so many fantastic reviews. So me and my friends booked a table and what a great night we had! from the handis to the biryani everything was perfect, we received excellent service from the friendly staff. we had heard so much about the deserts i tried the mango cheesecake and the profiteroles, seriously they were just too good. Zouk definitely deserves all the great reviews its getting and i'd give them 10/10 without a doubt!!! way better than Akbars and eastzeast!!

Went on a Sunday afternoon and had a great meal, everything well cooked, presented and good value - £9.95 for 2 courses. Staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome. Would definitely go back. Excellent.

I sent this email recently, I feel it speaks for itself - Dear Sir or Madam, I recently attended a hen night that had been booked in your restaurant and was very disappointed by the service we received. Firstly the booking was split across 2 tables and we were told this was policy but we had not been told this on booking. When we queried this we were told we could be on the same table when the people at the next table left. We were also told there was no point as the people put on the table would be as far away as if they were on the separate table. We insisted and we were put together. The orders were taken and the starters were then brought and some were incorrect. The waiter then tried to bully members of the group into eating the wrong order by saying “you ordered this” and “you will eat this”. Some people did cave in to the bullying. Some members of the group wanted to pay for their wine separately and had to ask 4 times for the bill to be brought. This was obviously such a problem because if the wine was not on the bill the service charge would be lower. The mains were brought and they were correct but the sides were not or were brought after the food had been half eaten. The service was so poor that we did not even stay for desserts or coffees. To then put a service charge of 10% (£36.20) on the bill is disgusting. Obviously, the renowned restaurant we had understood we were booking is only if you are famous, or in a party of less than 4. I had been hoping that the experience would have been enjoyable as I will be booking a hen night for next year and this restaurant was mentioned in the planning. I certainly shall not be doing now as the hen was disappointed and upset and still upset the next morning. Kind regards, Lucy McDonald.

The food was great. I had a great time there. Like most people have already mentioned, the sashimi was very fresh. I think the sushi here are one of the best in Manchester so far. Appetisers such as the chawanmushi and the chicken karaage were delicious. The bento box was awesome, especially the japanese potato salad in it.

Panama Hatties, Manchester - 30th Birthday Celebration. Fantastic service. Couldn't do enough for us but not in an intrusive sort of way. The owner / manager was relaxed and efficient which made us feel at ease. There were 17 in our party and all the food was tasty, well cooked and served at the same time. Thanks for a fabulous night!

I dined in grill on the alley for my birthday last week and had an amazing time! the service was friendly but unintrusive, and the food was delicious! the experience surpassed my expectation and I will definitely be returning!

I first went to Ning for the first time on 19th February and were very impressed with both the food and service, excellent on both counts. One of my friends who came along has since contacted me requesting another visit - it obviously made an impression on her!

My girlfriend and I tried Try Thai for the first time for an anniversary celebration. It's a really lovely atmosphere, staff are really friendly and the food is amazing - the best I have had outside of Thailand (maybe even as good as in Thailand). By far best Thai restaurant in the city centre.

the food here is delicious :) the service is great and the manager is extra kind.I had the sashimi boat and it was the freshest fish i ever tasted in my life.
