I really wanted to try Zouk had heard so many great things and read so many fantastic reviews. So me and my friends booked a table and what a great night we had! from the handis to the biryani everything was perfect, we received excellent service from the friendly staff. we had heard so much about the deserts i tried the mango cheesecake and the profiteroles, seriously they were just too good. Zouk definitely deserves all the great reviews its getting and i'd give them 10/10 without a doubt!!! way better than Akbars and eastzeast!!

Went on a Sunday afternoon and had a great meal, everything well cooked, presented and good value - £9.95 for 2 courses. Staff were very attentive and made us feel welcome. Would definitely go back. Excellent.

I sent this email recently, I feel it speaks for itself - Dear Sir or Madam, I recently attended a hen night that had been booked in your restaurant and was very disappointed by the service we received. Firstly the booking was split across 2 tables and we were told this was policy but we had not been told this on booking. When we queried this we were told we could be on the same table when the people at the next table left. We were also told there was no point as the people put on the table would be as far away as if they were on the separate table. We insisted and we were put together. The orders were taken and the starters were then brought and some were incorrect. The waiter then tried to bully members of the group into eating the wrong order by saying “you ordered this” and “you will eat this”. Some people did cave in to the bullying. Some members of the group wanted to pay for their wine separately and had to ask 4 times for the bill to be brought. This was obviously such a problem because if the wine was not on the bill the service charge would be lower. The mains were brought and they were correct but the sides were not or were brought after the food had been half eaten. The service was so poor that we did not even stay for desserts or coffees. To then put a service charge of 10% (£36.20) on the bill is disgusting. Obviously, the renowned restaurant we had understood we were booking is only if you are famous, or in a party of less than 4. I had been hoping that the experience would have been enjoyable as I will be booking a hen night for next year and this restaurant was mentioned in the planning. I certainly shall not be doing now as the hen was disappointed and upset and still upset the next morning. Kind regards, Lucy McDonald.

The food was great. I had a great time there. Like most people have already mentioned, the sashimi was very fresh. I think the sushi here are one of the best in Manchester so far. Appetisers such as the chawanmushi and the chicken karaage were delicious. The bento box was awesome, especially the japanese potato salad in it.

Panama Hatties, Manchester - 30th Birthday Celebration. Fantastic service. Couldn't do enough for us but not in an intrusive sort of way. The owner / manager was relaxed and efficient which made us feel at ease. There were 17 in our party and all the food was tasty, well cooked and served at the same time. Thanks for a fabulous night!

I first went to Ning for the first time on 19th February and were very impressed with both the food and service, excellent on both counts. One of my friends who came along has since contacted me requesting another visit - it obviously made an impression on her!

I dined in grill on the alley for my birthday last week and had an amazing time! the service was friendly but unintrusive, and the food was delicious! the experience surpassed my expectation and I will definitely be returning!

My girlfriend and I tried Try Thai for the first time for an anniversary celebration. It's a really lovely atmosphere, staff are really friendly and the food is amazing - the best I have had outside of Thailand (maybe even as good as in Thailand). By far best Thai restaurant in the city centre.

the food here is delicious :) the service is great and the manager is extra kind.I had the sashimi boat and it was the freshest fish i ever tasted in my life.

Attentive staff, great atmosphere, lovely food... cannot really fault it. There are aspects which I suppose could put people off, for example (as explained on the menu), "as we want to ensure the freshness of your food, some dishes may arrive before others... the aim is, don't wait, just tuck in and share... enjoy the Wagamama experience." That said, however... this really is part of the experience, and in no way is it a case of being rushed in and rushed out, as I've read elsewhere online. Plus, you rarely have to wait more than a few seconds to be seated, and ordering is dead easy as everything is numbered on the menu. The drinks menu is a little limited, I found, but overall there really isn't a bad thing which can be said about the place. The prices may seem a little steep on first glances, but the portions are huge and the food really is delicious. Last time we visited, our server had trouble totting up our bill as a few things had been jotted down wrong, which they acknowledged and knocked a few quid off... plus we spotted a couple of famous faces amongst the diners. Oh, and one last thing... if you struggle with the chopsticks, do not be afraid to ask for a fork!

We wanted to try something different and after reading about it's 3 course meal for a tenner we thought we'd give it a go. We were very pleasantly surprised, the food choices would suit any tastes and the actually food was fantastic, the portions were a good size and everything tasted fresh, this is a definite must if you want a really nice italian meal. I had the Stroganoff and the beef was really tender, my sister has the lemon salmon and loved it and my mum had the chicken which was huge!! We were so full afterwards we could hardly move. We were also being greedy and had a garlic bread to share and coffees afterwards and it was still only £15 each, bargain!!

EastZEast's Ibis restaurant has won the Manchester Food & Drink Festival's Restaurant of the Year two years running. Based on the quality of the food, that's understandable. If you want a meal on a Saturday night where your welcome is warm, your service isn't rushed and you aren't asked to leave before you've had chance to finish your drinks, even though you've just spent almost £100 on a meal, I'd give it a miss. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were made to feel as though we were an inconvenience. Two of our party had been slightly delayed, and the woman managing the tables gave the impression that we would lose our booking if they didn't turn up within five minutes. Once we were seated, the waiters were very attentive and keen to take our orders. At first we thought that this was because they wanted to make sure we weren't left waiting. We later realised, though, that it was because they needed to turn tables around as quickly as possible. The food was outstanding, and for this reason the restaurant deserves its recent awards. The portions were well sized, being just the right side of too much, and perfectly seasoned. The variety on the menu was also good. There were three vegetarians in our party, and we had an embarrassment of choice. After we had paid, however, the manager of the tables came over to us and said, "You can see that we are very busy, so as a favour to my staff, you can either drink up now or you can take your drinks to the sofas and finish them there." She then paused before finishing with, "I'm asking you nicely to leave." Not only is this exceptionally rude, it almost completely negated the pleasure we had had from eating the food. I would certainly think twice about eating there again. No matter how good the food is, I don't expect to be treated so rudely by the staff in a restaurant.

what a restaurant this has to be the best in manchester. the food, service and place are all amazing. zouk is the best Indian restaurant by a long way.

One word, Fantastic!! great food, service and atmosphere, just shows how great this place is that it was absolutely packed on a Saturday lunchtime when the rest of Kings Street is very quiet in these financially unsure times. I could eat here every week and not get fed up.

Wagamama at Spinningfields is just so good!! Always great value for a brilliant meal that is tasty and satisfying. Must visit at least once a week, don't like going anywhere else.

Hi there everyone, I've gone to all this trouble to set up Zouk Restaurant on Sugarvine.com because it just could not be missed. The second restaurant after Bradford site just opened a couple of weeks ago and it's taken Manchester with a great big BANG! it's Fantastic! Big and beautiful together with the most divine food I've ever tasted. The staff---Very helpful and friendly, although the place looks like only superstar should go in, you are made very special and it's not over the top with the pricing. If your looking for great atmosphere and something new Then Zouk is differently the place to visit. We'II see you there!!

After reading all the recommendations, we went to Red Chili to sample their menu. Arrived at about 6pm, a very encouraging sign is that it is already half full. We didn't have to wait long for our table, but the seating was very cramp to say the least. First impression is that the place is too dark; the seating too cramp; like every other person is sitting on the other's lap. With the new trend swinging towards the light and airy feel; this is a step backward. Personally, we did feel claustrophobic. Because there are a lot of people cramming in a very small space; and with A/C off during the first 30 min, it was very very stuffy indeed. We had to wait at least 20 min for our order to taken. And another 30 min for the food to arrive. After all the waiting, the food finally arrived. But there was one dish missing; as before we have to attract their attention to let them know what had happen. which is about another 10 mins. It was a missed order and we have to wait another 10 mins for it. Generally, the food was on the greasy side, but it was ok. Considering there are 7 to 8 service staff, you must think the service would be great. Not so, absolutely no service to speak of; no one even bother to ask whether our food was all right. All the Staff is moving around very slowly as if they were half asleep. No smile what so ever. But they were laughing and joking in the Bar area !? The place is only half full. Imagine what would it be like if it were full. The Manager seen to be doing all the odd jobs except looking after the customers, which is what he is paid for. Let other staff do these miscellaneous jobs. It is not as though they have not got enough staff. After asking for the bill, we have to wait almost 15 mins for the change after they collect it back. Did they think it was their tips? The food is ok, but the seating is cramp; the whole place claustrophobic; the service unprofessional and unfriendly. All in all, not a very good experience. We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone on this occasion !!
