Would not recommend this chain, the food was very bland and not the cheapest of places to eat. Great to have an open kitchen but not so great to see your mains waiting before you've had your starters! There are plenty of better restaurants in Manchester

The Slug and Lettuce – Spinningfields

We went on a extremely busy Friday night, great service but the food was far from great. Tough calamari and a disappointing pasta choice, huge portions of sloppy tagliatelle with a awful creamy tomato sauce. My stomach was churning all night! On the positive side we sat near the kitchen and the pizzas looked really good!

A good, varied menu and exceptional service. Staff were more than willing to help us navigate our way through some unknown dishes. Happy to recommend.

On Monday 8th sep I had the great pleasure of eating in this what can only be described as the finest chinese restaurant I have ever eaten in. I ordered hot & sour soup which was delightful then for my main meal I had Fillet steak in red chilli which I have had recently in China town in London which compared to this was like eating tasteless rubber. The meal can only be described as being mind blowingly hot I have eaten phals but they were nothing on this every mouthful was bang instant heat as the sichan pepper kicked in. With this I also had egg fried rice which was as fluffy and light as cotton wool. I would give this 10/10 & recommend to anyone who is going to Manchester

We went to Akbar's on Sunday night - around 9.30 pm so quite late and we only had to wait about 5 minutes. We'd been to the one in Leeds before and loved the food, but I was slightly concerned whether the Manchester restaurant will have the same quality. We weren't disappointed. Gorgeous food that was miles ahead of other restaurants I'd been to (but for the same cost!). My partner had a lamb curry and really commended the quality of the meat. The service was great, our waiter was lovely and really helpful and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was good - though it was a bit noisy clearly everyone was having a great time which creates a good feeling in the place. The lighting was dim, which created a very relaxed atmosphere. Loved it and I will definitely continue to go back for all my curry needs!

My friend and I visited La Vina by chance. We were drawn in through the front door by the live band with Sax on a Friday night. The atmosphere, food and service was excellent and we have both returned since and recommended to our friends there. My favourite restaurant at the moment, I would highly recommend it.

The atmosphere (from the decor, to the friendly staff) & the food is great, nice portions, good value for money. Also, I'm Muslim so the Halal meat is a big PLUS!!

We were in Manchester on August bank holiday Monday and used sugarvine to print out a selection of offers for city centre restaurants. After much deliberation we opted for Ning for dinner, We loved it. We took up the offer of 3 coures for £10!!! Fab food, massive portions and great staff. Deserves to succeed

Went here a few months back and was severely disappointed. I ordered pizza and my then girlfriend ordered a pasta dish, gnocci I think. My pizza was no different to what you can get in the supermarket. My girlfriend also said the gnocchi wasn't great and so we left a little disappointed. I suppose a really noisy hen party group being there didn't help, nor the annoyingly wobbly table but, all the same, the food should have been much better. Walked out feeling slightly ripped off.

What a wonderful restaurant. the music, food, drinks, desserts, staff and management are all wonderful. i really enjoy eating here. i cannot thank you all enough for everything. Keep up the excellent work! Thank you! If you want a restaurant that delivers excellent food and service, look no further than here. in my personal opinion there is no better place that the little yang sing. i thoroughly enjoy myself when i come here, be it with friends or family. i always feel as though i'm not a customer but a friend. the reason being is because all the staff are so friendly and wonderful. thank you all very much. I’d heard many good reviews about San Carlo on King Street West, and so when celebrating my promotion at work, I thought we should try out the infamous San Carlo. It was full of gorgeous people - the guests, the waiters, and the management. The food was just divine too. We tried a couple of dishes off the sea food menu and was overly impressed by the quality, and quantity of the dishes that arrived. The fish seemed to be quite a popular choice with other diners too, as we only heard positive remarks throughout the evening. A highly enjoyable night, and a very suitable place to celebrate something special.

A Tokyo Season is a shame to the vibrant restaurant in Manchester. My friends and I, i.e. a group of 5, visited the restaurant on a Saturday night. When asked about what drinks to order upon arrival, we simply said we needed a little time to settle down first. The waitress seemed disgusted by our request to delay our drinks order. After a while, we made our order for food and drink. (Mind you, they charge green tea by the cup, so no free refill unlike other Japanese restaurants) It took over 30 minutes for the food to arrive. To our disappointment, the portions were small and the quality of the food was not good. The deep fried pork fillet I had was all soggy. The food my friends ordered were not up to standard as well. To make matters worse, the manager and the waitress started removing our chopsticks even though there was still a few pieces of sashimi left on the table (we were sharing among us). I told the manager that I wanted to keep my pair of chopsticks while he was taking them away, and he asked me in a rather rude tone why. I had to point out that there were still food left to be eaten before he unwillingly returned my cutlery. In all, we were rushed for no reason, as, including us, there were only 2 tables occupied that evening. Unless you want a frustrated night out, I would not recommend this restaurant to you.

Went for my birthday with my girlfriend and friends who came down from London.Have always enjoyed turkish cuisine especially after my holiday to Alanya.Very disappointing meal. Staff took a long time to sort a table out.To be honest the waitress ignored us for 20 minutes even though several tables were empty. Food was below average.Plates and cutlery were dirty and my friend had to ask for his cutlery to be replaced.Wont be going back.

myself,my partner, friend and my 3 year old boy dined here on a busy Saturday afternoon. the service was quick, very polite waiters as soon as we seated my boy was entertained by the colouring crayons already on the table (to which i thought this was excellent). We all ate of the lunch express menu which was6.95 for two items. I had the vietnamese? dishes and they were fantastic ,my boys meal was OK but he isn't really used to eating fried veg.
