Little Yang Sing – Manchester City CentreWe went to the River Restaurant as my leaving meal - group of 7 people on a Saturday evening. We were lucky to have had the opportunity to have the 777 menu (all courses £7, fantastic bargain!) The restaurant looks great - bright, clean, welcoming, luxurious. We had a table by the window overlooking the river terrace. The attention we received from the staff was excellent & our meal was out of this world. We all had wonderful dishes & very impressed with the quality of the food, dish composition & taste. It was the most amazing offer & I have seen it has been extended until later this year. I would recommend the River Restaurant & would go again without a doubt. It would also be nice to just have a coffee or drinks on the terrace overlooking the river, weather permitting. Just go!
The River Restaurant at The Lowry Hotel – Manchester City CentreThis bar is proper, great food , great place - it rocks !
Revolution Bar – Manchester City CentreAVOID! The Ox has been taken over & is now not what it once was. By a very long mark. If you are after decent food or a gastropub experience, then The Ox is not the place to go. It is now more of a bustling pub - lively & boozy - which is fine if that is what you are after. I had to send my food back twice & the problem not rectified. The problem? The sauce for my sizzling platter, straight out of a packet, not only tasted disgusting but also had not even been mixed properly so I ended up with a mouthful of powder mix - unpleasant to say the least. Despite me sending it back twice & not eating the dish, a refund was not forthcoming - all in all a disappointing experience & really quite extraordinary. Mind you, if you go to a boozy pub on a Friday night expecting exceptional gastro-pub cuisine what can you expect!
The Oxnoble – Manchester City CentreWe were recommended the restaurant by my work colleagues. We tried the banquet B and loved the platter (the best salt and pepper ribs i've ever tasted). There was so much food for 2 people we couldn't eat it all. The waiter was kind enough to encourage us to doggy bag. The food was very tasty, fresh and plenty of it. I loved the decor of the restaurant - so trendy and modern. I will be coming back for their Taste of China evenings. Also their wine was really good too. Thanks for a brilliant night.
Sweet Mandarin – Northern QuarterPleasant enough ambiance and good service. Its not really authentic latin american food though, more tex mex/toned down interpretations for the timid (or those who haven't experienced the genuine article). Generous portions in pleasant surroundings but if you're expecting something genuine and really different you may be disappointed.
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreThat photo of the surroundings doesn't do it justice it's very comfortable. I went last Sunday night with my partner. Tables centre around the chef who prepares your food in front of you. If your group is small you are seated with other couples, very comfortably loads of elbow room nothing too intrusive. As for the chefs Wow, real showmanship, knife skills, comedy, fire, and beautiful food, the only thing they didnt do was stand on their heads. You have to see this for yourself.
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City Centrevisited Manchester for the second time this weekend and after being impressed by Croma the first time we decided to go again. Once again we loved it, loved you don't have to book and although we were told a half hour wait we only waited 10 mins, the bar is nice too! The pizzas are amazing, i tried the full English breakfast one which was delicious! Great service, good atmosphere, highly recommend!!!
Croma – Manchester City CentreHad an absolutely cracking meal with my wife recently, The food was outstanding and amazing value. We ate off the set menu which is outstanding value and better than the ala carte menus in any other restaurant I've eaten at in town. the wine waiter was also fantastic matching the wines to perfectly compliment the wonderful food. All in all a wonderful night, we shall return.
Mint – Manchester City CentreI ate at room with friends on Thursday night. I have to say it was truly a memorable experience. The attentiveness and knowledge of the staff was fantastic. The food was second to none. Try the Beef Bourguignonne, meltingly tender packed with the rich flavours you'd expect. My pals went for the risotto and the sirloin steak. They were blown away also. While we were waiting they even brought us a taster of roasted carrott soup. Believe me i make good soups but this was off the radar. Great job Room. I'll definitely be going back.
Grand Pacific restaurant and bar – Manchester City CentreHaving just had a lunch time meal at the Pacific (9 June) I can only describe it as very poor. There was little choice and the food was not replenished as it ran out. The staff attitude was take it or leave it. I shall certainly not be visiting this establishment again
Pacific – Manchester City Centrewe went to eastzeast on a saturday night and am pleased to say that we had booked and therefore were not having to queue up for a table. Although the food was excellent we felt like we were on a conveyor belt and were rushed to order both food and drinks. The service was average to say the least especially at the end of the meal when we were asked if we could leave the table as they had a big queue. i think i would prefer to stick to the more traditional Indian restaurant in the future.
East z East – Manchester City CentreLocal, nice atmosphere, good spacing of tables, excellent service
Ning – Northern QuarterI went there recently with my family. Within 3 hours we were all suffering symptoms of food poisoning. We were all violently sick and had crippling diarrhea. Standards are disgusting, look for yourself, look at the carpets. No Chinese people go there anymore. We all know how bad the food is!
Glamorous – Northern QuarterMy god what a fantastic place to dine! This is one of the best restaurants that I've ever been to!!! Me & my partner went on Friday night, turned up fashionably late (wasn't my fault-The Mrs!) but they still catered for us with no hassle, even though it was packed! no waiting. The service was fantastic, the chefs are unbelievable with their knife skills & entertainment for the guests... I would recommend this restaurant to anybody as they can cater for anybody, don't be thinking its all about fish/sushi, there's plenty of choice for anyone, any age. FANTASTIC!
Sapporo Teppanyaki Manchester – Manchester City CentreWhat can I say.....sensational! We ate there last night (saturday)This place got recommended to us by an Indian mate of mine. The food was delicious, the surroundings very trendy and the service was excellent. All in all a great night and very well priced. The Best Indian restaurant in Manchester if not the North-West.
Akbars – Manchester City CentreTook my girlfriend there for her birthday on the recommendations given by this website, and was completely impressed from start to finish. From the friendly and helpful staff, to the excellent food. I couldn't fault any part of it. Starters (sea food platter) was superb, steak was amazing and chocolate truffle cake was the best I've ever had. I'd give this place 10/10 and definitely go back.
Gaucho – Manchester City CentreWent to Wings as we were going to the Ricky Hatton fight at the City of Manchester stadium. Restaurant was pretty full to say it was 5pm. Food was outstanding. I loved all the little touches like putting the dim sum on your plate for you. They even made our duck pancakes at the side of our table for us. Food was amazing and service was even better. Will definitely be going back. The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.
