I love this restaurant, so many choices for mains on the menu, pizza, pasta and secondi are all wonderful. Great wine and puddings are delicious...try the chocolate fudge cake...it's massive! Gets very busy at weekends, but have always had good service, try it!

First time visit after reading the earlier reports on here and we were quite impressed. Parked directly outside and found it a stunning building with some excellent interior architecture. After a couple of drinks at the bar we were shown to our table which was in a sort of booth. We had a seafood platter to start which was excellently presented with lobster, king prawns, scallops etc. The quality was excellent but slightly expensive at £48. Again we had fish for main course which was delicious. The place and quality of food is excellent and well worth a visit but at over £100 for 2 of us was slightly on the expensive side as a substitute for the wife cooking but its a beautiful place for any special occasion and we will definitely return.

Good set menu deal. Ala Carte more expensive but still reasonable. I hope this place gets busier as it deserves to be a success. Fresh food, well prepared..

Wine was fantastic; food was a let down, felt under seasoned and watered down for an English palette. Would love to see it as more of a traditional tapas place - where you can get just a drink or food - they would still make the money as the wine is great. Wine waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and cute.

I had my birthday here and had a wonderful evening. My party of about 11 people were all served very quickly and efficiently. The food was lovely and so cheap for the quality. The atmosphere is just right for a celebratory occasion. Thanks for making the evening so special.

An excellent restaurant which is notably emptier than the bar at lunchtime. The food is first class but don't expect to be out of here in less than 90 mins. Slow food is great but this is very slow indeed! However the wine list is excellent, friendly service and superb food which may be a few pounds more than your standard Manchester Conran inspired bar but well worth the extra.

We went here the first week it opened and though it was great. The food is brill including the way the naan are served - only have the hot curries if you are brave. The service is great as well. Would recommend it to fellow veggies.

We went on a Sunday; the restaurant was packed giving a lively atmosphere. There was a large selection of dim sum on trolleys; all were delicious and the waiters very helpful. I would highly recommend this place!!

Always receive a warm welcome here, great no fuss decor simple yet stylish. Always good atmosphere. Really nice staff, and the food is unbelievable for the price. especially considering its excellent location right next to Bluu.

The Sweet Mandarin is fast becoming one of our favourite places to eat out. The prices are extremely reasonable and the vegetarian options such as the Buddha's Golden Picnic Basket and Mabel's Claypot are amazing quality - always fresh and full of flavour. We would recommend this place to your viewers.

went for a birthday at the weekend in a large group. Food was excellent but was let down by service and organisation. Had to wait an hour and a half to be seated by which time my heavily pregnant friend was ready to eat the waiter! Bit annoying as we had been booked in for 5 weeks. Food was good quality and reasonably priced. Was just a bit disappointing.

I have been to Sweet Mandarin a few times and the food and service are absolutely excellent. I've been as a couple and for my birthday and each time the staff have been attentive and the food lovely. I look forward to my next visit.

I have visited on several occasions and the food and service have been excellent each time. We had the Alberts breakfast and chilli scallops to start followed by meatballs and haddock risotto.All were done to perfection and easily rival any of the more expensive and stuffy restaurants in the city centre. The service is friendly and efficient and the location is probably one of the best in Manchester - easy parking and a fantastic view.

Hunters serves amazing and authentic Indian food and kebabs. It's essentially a take away with a few plastic tables and chairs, so don't go expecting a visually stunning restaurant experience. However if it's just food that you are intereted in then I reckon it's the best I've had, especially their fine vegetarian dishes. Their ochre is first class. It's situated over the road from Bluu and alot of the new northern quarter developments, perfect for a pre or post drink feed! A plate of a selection of their food was only £3.50, spectacular value!!

We had a really excellent evening and would highly recommend The Sweet Mandarin. We want to thank Lisa in particular for excellent service and really making our party feel welcome. i love this place! it's just cool, it's lively and funky. but if you want top notch food or are fussy about service, probably not the place for you. The food's really good value, pretty tasty and the place has good bar atmosphere - we reguarly go after work. However, if you're a little more diserning over your food: it can take a long time for orders to come through and there's some sloppy 16year old service. all in all, good place, will keep going back - but please change the menu at some point - i've tried most things on it now!

As good as the Thai island it takes it name from. Wines are fairly priced unlike most Chinese who rip you off. Recommended to follow a theatre show.
