Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreAbsolutely amazing meal at gio. Couldn't fault a thing! Highly recommended.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreExcellent restaurant with quick service & really good food. ‘Would definitely recommend it.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreVisiting Bolton and called in Cafe Italia for a breakfast. Fantastic food, staff and surroundings. Agree with other comments it can seem noisy when you first arrive but you forget when you get talking within your party.
Cafe Italia – BoltonWe thought we'd try this place out for our works party meal as we like to try different foods each year. We all found it quite hard to select one item each from the menu as there was so much we wanted to try, so be ordered 3 of the meat banquets and 2 vegetarian banquets, so we got a bit of most things. We shared them all between the 5 of us, fantastic, flavoursome foods, that did not disappoint, we did need to order extra flatbreads, but they arrived promptly, warm and fresh from the ovens. Great place, great company, great food 5*
Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreFabulous food, great atmosphere.
Papa Luigis – WiganYesterday was my first visit to your restaurant , although my two guests has been before . The ambience of the place was goods , I enjoyed it . The service was warm , friendly and efficient . My two guests enjoyed their choices from the menu. I was less pleased . I went for tradition fish , chips and mushy peas. This fish was ok , but the external batter was poor though . The chips were particularly disappointing ! I think they had been warmed up from yesterdays left overs !!! They certainly were not freshly cooked . When it came to paying the bill , I presented my debit card. Once in the machine the first thing that appears is a request to give you a tip !! PLEASE , can you and other restaurateurs stop trying to embarrass people into leaving a tip . People will leave a tip if the like what they have received. Just for the record , my son did leave you a generous tip.
The George Charles – DidsburyAnother really good Italian meal yesterday evening at Gios. Great service as always. Polite, friendly and efficient. Excellent authentic Italian food I just love their lasagne. Reasonably priced especially the two course army bird menu.
Gio Ristorante – Manchester City CentreA group of 5 of us had what is turning out to be our annual Christmas gathering at the GC yesterday - we had originally wanted to be in their lovely basement but the manager had reserved a table for us upstairs when a party booked it. The atmosphere was great upstairs, and the staff really made an effort to serve us promptly and check back regularly to see if we needed more drinks or anything was missing. The Negronis we ordered had to be made with Aperol rather than Campari as the manager said they had run out, but they tasted pretty darn good anyhow. The house wine is excellent and really well priced. Finally, I ordered the vegan stroganoff, which was full of delicious wholegrain rice, chunky veg and gerkins, beautifully spiced and served spilling out of a 'plant pot' wrap. Basically the best stroganoff I had ever eaten. The meat eaters all had a huge pile of brown and white meat with all the trimmings for their Turkey dinner, so they were pretty happy too. The chef definitely knows what he's doing! Thanks to the whole team - we will certainly be back next year :)
The George Charles – DidsburyWe were a large party of 17, the restaurant hosted us extremely well and the food was delicious. We all had a great time. The house red was not great but the restaurant swapped it for another bottle which was a great replacement. Would recommend for larger parties easy to deal with from a reservation perspective
Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreGreat location, brilliant staff and service; food incredible, and very generous portions!
Lime – Salford QuaysParty of 8 at lunchtime with the team. Booked in advance and we were the only people there when we first arrived. Given this we felt the service could have been a bit quicker given it was evident we were on our lunch break although it was generally good overall. The food was hot and well presented and seemed authentic (this was our first time trying Armenian food). Felt the prices were reasonable although we were a bit disappointed that the lunch time 2 course offer is still advertised online but was crossed out in the menus.
Armenian Taverna and Restaurant – Manchester City CentreAlways a winner for a high quality healthy lunch. A real treat to find vegan options as good as this near my office!
Foodwell – Manchester City CentreLove Chakalaka, smallish, intimate venue, good service.
Chakalaka – Manchester City CentreVisited with my daughter for a late lunch. This was my first visit. Food was lovely & tasty, and good value; service was very friendly. Marked down slightly for atmosphere on this occasion, as the restaurant was very noisy. However, our experience wasn't spoiled, and we would gladly revisit. I recommend that visitors try to park on the road, the car park isn't easy to negotiate.
Cafe Italia – BoltonMy favourite place in Wigan!
La Sentidos Loca – WiganFriendly staff and good service, nicely cooked food but small portions of accompaniments to the main courses and prices are high for a local restaurant in Prestwich.
Anatolian Grill – PrestwichWe had a roast dinner here last Sunday. The staff were really friendly and we had one of the best Bloody Mary's we've tasted in a long time. Really good value at £7.50. We both had the roast beef and the honey glazed chipolatas. The roast is a good-sized portion with a nice selection of veggies. Unfortunately, we felt the beef was over-cooked, sliced too thick making it tough and almost tasted steamed rather than roasted. I think we were given end pieces as well which was disappointing. The chipolatas were also not great, lacking colour and tasted a bit like cheap sausage, to be honest. Finally, and this is a pet peeve and not unique to here, throughout our entire meal at peak lunchtime there was a member of staff cleaning and sorting cutlery. It's loud to the point of being obnoxious and ruins what would otherwise be lovely ambience.
