Jute Takeaway – BoltonAmazing food , the best pasta I have tasted in Manchester , service is fantastic and staff very friendly .
San Carlo – Manchester City Centrewent to Momentum at lunchtime with Him , after reviewing and researching for a good local restaurant, was impressed by Chef's credentials ( working alongside SImon Hopinkson @ Bibendum, Lowry etc, made this a really worthwhile visit ), The presentation on entry and warmth from the team there was great, it was quiet with 3 sets (including us as diners (about 115pm) considering this is the old Pub Bridge Inn a true revelation inside with its modern and comfortable decor and remembering we are in Westhoughton, website did the restaurant justice for a change we ordered the pie of the day - 2 glasses of red ( pity the malbec wasn't available by the glass, although excelled by offering the chilean merlot to test before buying Him : chicken, white bean and chorizio pie Myself: Chilli, nachos and Guacamole Him - desert Cheesecake the food was good - the wood platter for the chilli was lovely presentation personally could do with improving the rice and making less watery , the bean soup that came with the dish was lovely a little over powered by the star anise flavouring, pastry could do with a little lift , Nachos were home-made and delicious, the chips were made with fresh oil and well cooked and the crushed peas well could do with crushing! overall the food was good and worth a re visit we have booked to go back and have the al a carte menu the menu reads like a menu not over written, personalised with names of the owners and ensuring you get what it says its a good menu presentation 6 quality of food 6 service 9 will update after next evening visit thank you to the team at momentum for a lovely lunch more than expected
Momentum Restaurant & Lounge – Westhoughtongreat pub with excellent food and a good traditional atmosphere
The Black Bull – BuryService a little slow but worth the wait the pizza was delicious.
Pizza Express – BuryI went to Zouk on a recent trip to manchester and would like to say i had a lovely experience. The staff were very friendly and pleasing. Food was to die for not had such good quality and fresh food like that. I would recommend it to anyone reading for a truly wonderful experience in a wonderful restaurant i would visit Zouk.
Zouk Tea Bar – Manchester City CentreThis evening was our second visit to Momentum, and for the second time our party of four had a fabulous meal. The atmosphere is tasteful and pleasant, and although today the dining room was much busier than our first visit, the tables were comfortably spaced so that we almost felt that we were alone. We had different staff on the two occasions and received extremely friendly and efficient service both times .We ate from the market menu .Over the two occasions we have sampled the suckling pig served in different ways and the pan fried cod, and all agreed they were delicious. The livers and the mackerel starters were also lovely. We moved to the a la carte menu for pudding and if it's possible the sweets almost exceed the other courses in quality....well almost. The lemon tart is out of this world . I am a stickler for good pastry and this is GOOD pastry.,with a filling of perfect tartness and texture. If you prefer to make small changes such as having cream instead of ice cream , it is changed very willingly.I must not forget to mention that if you arrive between 5pm and 7 pm the cocktails are 2 for 1 and they're very good at those too! All round an excellent relaxing place, which is now a favourite.
Momentum Restaurant & Lounge – WesthoughtonVisited the china lounge at the weekend with a group of friends. The service was excellent and the food was to die for. Not been for a while but think they must a have a new chef because the food was spot on.Considering how packed it was the service was first class.Would recommend this restaurant and booked to go with my girlfriend.
China Lounge – WhitefieldBeen going for years as we live in Swinton, last time was a few months ago and it was great as always. Went today (Sept 2012) and it was appalling. Stale popadoms, day old salad, not fried but napalmed starters, decent main but then they brought the wrong drinks out...twice. It's REALLY changed there and definitely not for the better. Should have guessed as it was empty at 7.30 on a Sunday evening. Never again, gutted!
New Far Pavilion – SwintonHave just had lunch at the Rivington Pub and Grill formerly The Ridgeway Arms. What an improvement!! The decor has been tastefully done and to match the menu is excellent, with a number of choices. We both had fish in beer batter and it was delicious, as were the chips. The Staff were pleasant and efficient and we have already said we will return.
Rivington Pub and Grill – Horwichits great that they are using good quality local produce but the chefs need to learn how to cook it properly. from over cooked steaks to over heavy sauces & venison so overdone it tasted like badly done liver but if you stick to pizzas they are very good.
San Marino – BoltonLow prices but very high standards for everything else, especially the food. Try something that sounds unusual. You will be pleasantly surprised every time. One warning: Beware of the Persian ice cream and the homemade cake as they are most addictive part of the menu.
Hafez Restaurant – SaleHad a really nice time at the toy box the food was good and the staff a pleasant
Toy Box – HarpurheyActual shit. Ordered a madras sauce and received some creamy horrible curry sauce. Rang up to try and change it, tell them they had done the order wrong, was refused a refund, and was refused a new correct curry. Now have chapattis and chips with no curry to eat it with. Waste of time and money and now I'm hungry!
Cha Cha’s – LevenshulmePlease can you give me the web address for your Thai retaurant. Am getting rave reviews about it. Want to have a look at the menu please.
Buraq – WiganPLEASE READ THIS THEN AVOIDMy partner and I became very ill with food poisoning after ordering from here, after a day of constant diarrhoea and vomiting I contacted the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I was then put on to someone who I've now found out not to be the manager but actually one of the chefs. She was incredibly rude and sarcastic (even laughing) and after a lot of awkward silences told me that that "she didn't have anything to say" and when I told her I would be contacting the local environmental office she told me to "go do that". My partner then called back and asked to be put in touch with the owner of these four restaurants; we've now had a call back from him today in which I got told how he's run the business for 17 years and how both he and his pregnant wife eat from there and how large their customer base is...totally irrelevant in this situation. After making my point again about how rudely we were spoken to and how ordering from there had meant that we both had a totally ruined next day as well as wasting £25, I was told that the absolute most he could do is offer us a 50 discount off our next order as a "goodwill gesture"- A TOTAL INSULT. Any 'goodwill' is clearly insincere. This is much more fitting for a late delivery or missing items than being made very ill. As if we would ever again eat from somewhere we got so ill off and give money to such a business.
Oriental Express (Salford) – Manchester City CentreLovely food and atmosphere
Panama Hattys – Manchester City CentreWorst coffee shop i have visited in my life the staff are unintelligible and have difficulty with the english language, the food is overpriced, the enviroment is clean though which is a positive sign on a regular basis ....and you can only get things on toast but not actually cooked which is frankly bizarre for a cafe.... and the pdq it seems dislikes certain people... go there but remember to take a Lithuanian phrase book .... although its still better that the indian takeaway next door eh?
