Had a great lunch last week, very friendly staff along with quality freshly produced food. My partner had the seabass risotto of lunch menu and I opted for the 14oz Ribeye which was perfectly cooked and served with fresh hand cut chips.Homemade apple crumble served with custard finished the meal off nicely.Great choice of wine too.

Since being taken over by Crompton's, the food and service has improved ten-fold. Went for Mothers' Day and it was superb. Great food and excellent service means we'll definitely be going back.

Cromptons @ The Waterside – Eccles
Cheshire Royal

Ate at Rozafa last night, what a little gem. It's a predominantly Greek, Mediterranean restaurant. Excellent food and value for money, get there early and enjoy the 3 course inclusive meal, if you can. Friendly helpful staff too.

I have eaten at the the Woodstock twice. Once before and after the recent refurb and both times have been disappointed. We ordered two burgers with chips and horseradish sauce, and a sausage bap with onion rings. The food took a long time to arrive and was not worth the money at all. The salad on all 3 was old and wilted , the horseradish sauce was not horseradish, appeared to be mayonnaise with chopped up garlic and onion. The portions of chips were small, the bread buns of all 3 were dry and the onion rings were soggy. Nice for a drink but don't go for food.

I have to disagree with the comments above. I took my partner here for her birthday as I liked the look of the varied menu. However, all was not as it seemed. The restaurant itself was nice enough but like so many places, it was run by kids. The menu was very confusing and even the staff didn't know what was what. Having said that the food was good but we just felt the place was trying too hard to be something it wasn't. It's all every well producing 'posh nosh' but you have to back it up with good service. I've never been to a restaurant where the waiting staff ask you to pass them your plates instead of walking around the table to get them themselves, and they left half the food on our table instead of clearing it properly. Not sure I'd go back here again as I feel there are better places, serving better food for the same price.

I've been here twice and the food was poor both times. The first time I went, the service was terrible and disorganised, waiting over 45 mins for a starter, and half an hour for a bottle of wine to arrive. Decided to write it off as a one-off and went back for Sunday lunch recently. The service was better, but the food was way below standard. A huge shame.

I thought the £10 2-course menu was good value. For my starter I chose the Chicken Murtabak (pancake consisting of chicken, onion, potation, egg and herb), which I thought was yummy. My main meal was the Masak Merah (chicken in chilli tomato and onion sauce) accompanied by jasmine rice, which was also delicious. I hear that in March 2008 they have introduced 20% off for takeouts (call and collect). I’ll definitely be visiting again.

Went for a meal last night, all our food arrived after 5mins and it was clear that the tapas had just been warmed up in the microwave. This was the same at every table near us. We had to remind the waiter we had ordered wine. We had finished our meal after 40mins and the bill was placed on our table shortly after. The food wasn't good and neither was the service. We won't be going back!

I had a bad experience here. There service was good and the wine list also good. However I found the menu to be far too large and indicative of rushed cooking and a lack of fresh, seasonal ingredients. I had a chili pasta dish that was so hot it drowned out any other taste (eg £19 bottle of wine). And i'm not shy with chilli. My girlfriend had duck that was fatty and served with glacier cherries (the menu said fresh). The starters weren't up to much either. Shame cause its pricey too.

My friend and had the great misfortune of visiting The Didsbury last night. Without a doubt it was the worst pub meal i have ever attempted to eat. I might not be a Jamie Oliver or Delia Smith but even i can tell the difference between "smash" and fresh potato, despite the managers insistance to the contrary. The meal remained un eaten mainly due to the meat being unchewable, the bubble and squeak looked liked mashed carrot and "smash" (no cabbage in sight)and everything was drowned in vinegar. A refund or apology?? absolutely not just a look of annoyance at our audacity to actually complain. A venue which most i will most definetly never visit again!

we took our son and three of his friends for tea all i can say it was excellent food was excellent and the staff were amazingly friendly.it was my son's birthday and they made a big fuss over him even though he was 13 would recommend it to any one who has young children even the clown with the balloons is superb with the children and he makes everyone feel like they are so special

Frankie and Bennys – Trafford Centre
Ranga Bhabi

We often order a take away meal from Cafe Lahore and its been brilliant every time. The quality of the meat is very good and lean(lamb is tender and melts in the mouth). I also like the fact that Cafe Lahore does not use (as much) artificial colouring. I would recommend Cafe Lahore to everyone.

Absolutely Awful. Having heard good things about this place we decided to go for some dinner on the way into town for a night out. Really strange menu comprising student favourites alongside more sophisticated dishes costing considerably more that much better alternatives in the city centre. In the end we opted for Chilli Nachos x2. At £7 a throw we expected great things but what we actually got was a luke warm bowl of second rate chilli with a pile of cheap, overly salty, broken tortilla chips (probably from Netto or similar). They need to have a look at what you get in establshments such as Kro or Chiquitos for less money. While these things can happen it says something about the quality of the kitchen staff that something prepared with so little care and attention even made it out of the door. Its also worth mentioning that the table next door sent theirs back because it was cold. Service was also appalling! Avoid like the plague.

A brilliant mother's day treat! Obviously very busy but the food and service were excellent. All the staff worked very hard to ensure satisfaction and nothing was too much trouble for our party of 13. Look forward to our next visit.
