Having experienced nearly every Indian restaurant in Manchester, I was overwhelmed by the quality of food and service in this establishment. This was a long established restaurant from the 1970's with excellent surroundings and atmosphere. This restaurant has always been a family run business with an amazing choice in the menu.

Dined on a busy Saturday night, ate the scallop starter with a well complimented Louisiana dressing and had a superb pink lamb rack with a rosti potato and ratatouille. Very busy and surprisingly unfussed and smooth service considering. Will definitely visit again

I've only had takeaway from here, but it was a really pleasant surprise to discover how tasty and varied the menu was - I always thought it was a real kebab & chips place, but the mezze were superb - yoghurt & carrots mmmm, tabbouleh mmm ... - and provide a high-quality takeaway experience for Chorlton dwellers.

This weekend I visited this magnificent restaurant for the fifth time. If going for the first time, I recommend the Armenian Banquet, culminating in sumptuous sticky Armenian delight with pistachios. However - this is a meal for the formidable, and be sure to embark upon it with an eager appetite as you may be surprised as you finish off the first platter of superb mezze - baba ganoush, Armenian sausage, full bi-hummus, freshly made lavash bread to name but a few of the titillating savoury delights you might have on your plate - an equally huge selection of mouthwateringly grilled kebabs is placed before you, with the most perfectly cooked rice, dusted with the sweetness of cinnamon, served with a rich tomato sauce marvellously cut through with coriander seed. It is rapturous eating! They make an Armenian goulash with lamb on the bone, served with couscous, which melts beautifully in the mouth and is somehow sweet and deeply savoury at the time. I love the way this restaurant isn't trying to keep up with the trendy establishments that come and go so quickly, it just is itself, and does that so very well. Another couple of atmosphere plus-points: look left when headed to the toilets and you'll get to peek in the kitchen, and see piles of freshly made lavash bread and the wonders of an Armenian kitchen at work. Plus the music on Saturday night was delightful - I didn't want to leave!

As I grew up in North America I went in expecting the same old mediocre attempt at "American" cuisine but I can honestly say this tasted absolutely delicious! Bit pricey for a burger (9 quid) but you get what you pay for I suppose. Would definitely go back

I arrived with my friend rather sheepishly as it was nearly 2 pm and they appeared to be finishing for the afternoon. When we appeared in the doorway we were welcomed in and the music was turned back on and service was resumed. Not only were we made to feel very welcome but a complete fuss was made of the children, nothing was a problem. Food was honest and good value and due to the wonderful service we received on what appeared to have been a quiet and miserable Tuesday I will most definitely return even though it is 50 miles away!

I have been a regular at the Met for 5 years or more and can honestly say that it has never been better. The food is the best of its type in South Manchester and the beer although more expensive than some always comes in a clean glass and with a smile. The atmosphere is buzzing no matter what night and the Met is always a great environment to enjoy an evening with friends.

El Rincon is an excellent place to eat, it has a very Spanish feel and great atmosphere!! I love it!!

Some of the most interesting and continually changing food available in south Manchester, let alone Chorlton using seasonal produce well. The prices are very fair and don? miss the Sunday roasts and breakfasts, fish, steaks and specials are all worth a go, as is the organic beer

For £10 it was an absolute bargain, will definitely go again, but drinks are expensive. Don't make the mistake of placing various curries on to one plate, it spoils the meal; try them one at a time.

Excellent food, interesting and vibrant surroundings and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. Well worth a visit.

Rusholme - over-rated! Hazel Grove's 'Balti Massala': quite simply the best curries in Mancester. The chicken passanda cooked in red wine sauce is highly recommended.

A large variety of foods to choose from, a busy bar with drinks from various countries, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, live music, a family atmosphere and an excellent venue for parties.

A very good restaurant and excellent cuisine. Service and price was very good too, the best vegetarian restaurant for miles in the North West

The food was wonderful. It is always nice to see the chef/proprietor in the dining room greeting and meeting guests.

I hope that my experience at Taurus is not going to become the norm. I dined with a number of friends at Al Fresco on a Sunday night and the service was slow and the food portions terrible. Two of my friends ordered a dim sum platter at £12.50, when it eventually arrived after 48 minutes, it consisted of around 8 dim sum items, half a plate of prawn crackers, Olives (Chinese olives no doubt) and a lot of salad. My Cajun chicken was anything but, and was a humble 5 slices of chicken breast in a decent sized ciabatta (all for £5). Fortunately the Taurus Burger with Bacon at £8 was of a better standing. When we commented to the waiter about the portion sizes, he agreed that they were not altogether reasonable and reduced the meal by half price. I've eaten a couple of times here before on lunchtime on various days. I've usually found it much better but I think this is a change in policy by the management. I don't think it's somewhere I could recommend because of the lack of consistency. A great shame.

Booking is advised otherwise one can have a long wait. Service was great and so was the food, Can get a bit crowded though but that feeling fades away very fast. Convenient location and a must for Thai food fans out there!
