Excellent meal,great service and a lovely ambience.

A pleasant experience. Good drinks menu.

Went for a meal on Sunday tea time in December. My partner had the burger which he said was superb and I had the traditional christmas turkey roast dinner. It was perfect, a huge plateful with all the trimmings and a Yorkshire pudding. The sticky toffee pudding and ice cream was great too. We’ve eaten here a few times and love it. It’s our no.1 choice for eating out.

Excellent Sunday lunch as usual!

What a gem the Wheatsheaf in Beetham is, set in the prettiest village. The food is excellent, with a nice range of beers and wines. The staff are so friendly and the pub is cheerful and welcoming, with some spectacular Christmas decorations. Love the service bells on the tables!

Excellent meal as ever. We brought some friends with us who loved it too. This is the 5th time we’ve eaten here. I’d definitely recommend the Wheatsheaf.

Excellent food and service.

My husband and I stayed overnight getting the midweek special which is bed breakfast and £50 towards your evening meal. Everything was spot on, the room was lovely, the meal was delicious and breakfast was great. The staff were very pleasant and helpful especially Callum who greeted us and served us breakfast. Thankyou, we will return.

Fantastic food and service….never disappoints

Booked the Sunday Night Special which included the Sunday Roast and Breakfast the following morning. Order was taken for our Sunday Roast and arrived 15 mins later and looked promising, however it was not so. The meal wasn’t hot at best it was luke warm and the broccoli & cauliflower were under cooked almost still raw, the mash and carrot/swede mash were very tasty just not enough as with the roast potatoes (only 2). The topside of beef was ok as was the Yorkshire pudding. Following our roast we ordered the Sticky Toffee Pudding which we had eaten there before and once again it did not disappoint it was the best part of the meal. One other downside were the two uncontrolled children at another table whose parents weren’t interested in calming them down just wanted the rest of us to know about their recent holiday. It was a relief when they left. The following morning we had our breakfasts which again were very good and plenty of choice.

Hearty good food - roast was super. Breakfast was also very good. Pudding was okay but didn't blow us away. Very much worth the money - atmosphere and staff excellent.

We are not local but were staying in the area and googled find a Sunday roast near me! What an excellent find. Easy to book online, loved the simplicity. The ambience was just what we wanted, a lovely looking country pub. We both had the roast dinner and a dessert. They were top quality - wow the sticky toffee pudding was light and possibly the nicest I’ve ever had. The only bad point I can make was that service was a little slow, but it was very busy and some of the staff looked new.

The Wheatsheaf was exactly as described, a lovely, cosy pub with a great atmosphere and superb food, especially the ‘home made’ pie with mash and mushy peas…highly recommended! We’ll definitely back next time we travel to Scotland. Thank you, P Thomas.

Booked on the Sunday morning for lunch that day. The on line booking was so simple and far better than ringing on the 'phone. My wife had the Roast Beef Sunday lunch which she found excellent. I chose the Burger which was simply awesome. Quite simply the best Burger I have ever had. Would definitely recommend both the food and the service. Thankfully no plastic palace. Just a very clean and simple Bar/Restaurant that was packed with more than satisfied customers by the sounds of it. Most certainly pre book on line. Highly recommended.
