I’m Coeliac and had best biggest fish in such light batter amazing homemade chips. The starter of shrimp with GF toast was beautiful. Too full for dessert but there were GF options. Went in the evening and it was a beautiful relaxed feel with the candles and not close to other tables. A lovely night with my other half. He had a great meal too. Decent prices too. Highly recommend.

Sunday lunch at the Wheatsheaf wow! Absolutely gorgeous food and outstanding service couldn’t fault it would highly recommend and look forward to eating there again.

As usual the service was excellent and the quality of the food was very good. We dine at the Wheatsheaf prior to going to the Heron Theatre, which is quite often. It would be nice if some variation of the menu could be offered.

Food stone cold as was my son’s. They took it back to the kitchen but my son had finished his meal and I hadn’t got mine back so told them not to bother. Waitress came running after us as we walked out of the door to say the food was ready now. Always had lovely meals here but this has put me off completely.

Great food, lots of choices, well presented, Served by friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

We have eaten Sunday lunches at the Wheatsheaf on several occasions recently and really enjoy them. We find the food excellent both quality and value, the staff are lovely and the ambience in the dining/pub areas is perfect.

Booked a table in advance for a small group via the website, good communication on the booking, friendly welcome and great service throughout the night. Food was excellent, really good atmosphere, very pleasant evening.

We had lunch at the Wheatsheath to celebrate my husband's birthday . We were not disappointed. We both had the fish and chips . They were beautifully cooked and presented. Although the pub was very busy the waitress was very attentive and the wait not too long. Our little dog Evie was welcomed . We will definitely return in the not too distant future.

Excellent food and service in an ancient and atmospheric pub. All reasonably priced with good parking available.

Excellent evening all round, as usual. Food, service and atmosphere just perfect. Two specials (venison casserole and chicken, ham and black pudding pie) were spot on, as were the fish and chips. Good portions, but not overwhelming. Thank you, once again.

My wife and I enjoyed a gorgeous meal on Friday night. We were made to feel very welcome and were attended to by lovely staff. My wife even took a photo of the beautifully decorated toilets! Nothing was too much trouble and we were encouraged to do the Fairy Steps walk with a free guide given. That was well worth doing. Will definitely call again. The Inn is a member of Britstops so we stayed overnight in our campervan, will recommend to other users.
