Had a meal on Sunday afternoon. The food was great as normal but the service was a bit off. Tables not cleared, drinks ordered but not delivered and several extra drinks put on the bill.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeWent for Sunday lunch and had booked the day before. However it was very busy and our table was tucked away by the side of the stairs and so was quite dark and cramped. However the staff and service was very good and the Sunday dinner couldn’t be faulted. Will certainly go again but not at that table. It wasn’t really suitable for anyone to eat their dinner.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeGood service, enjoyable food and a nice pint of Swan. If I had one observation, I would have appreciated some mashed potato with the Venison Stew. I had to leave some delicious gravy, it broke my heart !

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeI’m Coeliac and had best biggest fish in such light batter amazing homemade chips. The starter of shrimp with GF toast was beautiful. Too full for dessert but there were GF options. Went in the evening and it was a beautiful relaxed feel with the candles and not close to other tables. A lovely night with my other half. He had a great meal too. Decent prices too. Highly recommend.

The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeAs usual the service was excellent and the quality of the food was very good. We dine at the Wheatsheaf prior to going to the Heron Theatre, which is quite often. It would be nice if some variation of the menu could be offered.
The Wheatsheaf at Beetham – MilnthorpeFood stone cold as was my son’s. They took it back to the kitchen but my son had finished his meal and I hadn’t got mine back so told them not to bother. Waitress came running after us as we walked out of the door to say the food was ready now. Always had lovely meals here but this has put me off completely.
