Sachins offers fantastic food in a friendly informal atmosphere. If you are somebody who likes their curries generic, brightly coloured and westernised this is not the restaurant for you. A lack of the usual chicken tikka massala and Vindaloo on the menu is testament to the authenticity of the food. It is worth booking especially on a Saturday as it can get very busy. This is THE ONLY Indian restaurant I would recommend to anyone as I have never eaten anywhere as good. I recommend the butter chicken, karahi gosht and the jalfrezi for those that like something with a bit of a kick! Their peshwari nans are out of this word too!

The restaurant itself is simple so don't be put off by the layout because the food here is lovely! Its beautifully presented and the portions are huge! The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you're a seafood fan you'll love it and you'll always go back for more!

Gorgeous food, friendly staff, great atmosphere and good value for money, what more could you ask for?

This is our first choice for a girls night out. The food is excellent and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They even cater for someone in our party who has a nut allergy. Imagine trying to cook the food without using a nut oil but they do it and she says it tastes lovely. We have tried other restaurants but we always come back to this one as it can't be beaten for taste, atmosphere and the price is really good value. The banquets offer a really good choice and you can change anything on the menu for something different to suit.

Been going her for years. Visited on the 20th Dec 2006. Arrived just before 9. Was still offered the special Xmas menu. As usual excellent! Wouldn't go past it.

When the moon hits yours eyes like a big pizza pie you're in UNO's. Oh Yeeeessssss. Not only was the food su-poib but the manner in which the barista serenated my dying grandmother was truly breathtaking. Hats off to you Gianni (you beautiful bastard). Me and my gran shared whole roast piglet which was oinktastic. The coffee was delicious but the bitter aftertaste suggest it was conflict coffee. Are these fairtrade beans Gianni? (don't lie to me man!)

Every time I eat here it is always full and the vast majority of customers are always Chinese, so that tells you all you need to know! The Singapore Vermicelli noodles (my favourite) are fantastic, always freshly made (as all of the dishes are) and piping hot. It's a no frills place though you often have to wait for a table but the wait is worth it.

Me and my girlfriend went here for a meal before Christmas an found the food was amazing. we ordered from the set meal and a portion of tuna sushi, and the way they cook the food in front of you is brilliant. tried the egg flipping into the hat, as did the girlfriend, but its a lot harder than it looks!! overall the food was outstanding, but was quite expensive. then again u do pay for quality. definitely worth a visit

This is the best place in the North of England if you want Chinese food. End of story.

Sachins Restaurant was described to me as being one of Newcastles best kept secrets. The food and service was great and made my visit to Newcastle most memorable. I will be recommending it to all of my friends.

Went to El Coto for a meal with colleagues just before Christmas. Was really good atmosphere and the food was the best Tapas experience I've had in Newcastle. Service was average/good but I guess its just the Spanish way. Thoroughly recommend El Coto. I'll certainly be going back.

This is different, this is real, the best ever Indian meal I?e had. Rasa serves the food from the Southern region of India and it is one hundred times better than the usual soulless curries, which are a pool of oil most of the times. Been there accidentally because their neighbouring place was full and I have found my type of food here. Healthy and with full of flavours.

This is one of my favourite Italian restaurants in Newcastle. The food has always been very good, the wine selection is excellent, the cost is reasonable and it has a nice atmosphere. The only lacking area is the customer service sometimes. If they improved on this I would visit more often and tip a lot more.

The previous night we had been to the Theatre Royal and tried the competitor on the other side of Grey Street (Zizzi) which was truly dreadful. So it was with somewhat low expectations that we went to Barluga. We were very pleasantly surprised. There was a very good live jazz band playing. We had a very nice bottle of wine, and the quick bite tempura prawns, beef sandwich and a massive portion of potatoes wedged chips. Excellent value and served very promptly. Highly recommended for a quick pre-theatre bite.

I have ate my Indians from Latif's for 18 years, (I was previously a customer of the Al-Helal whilst under Mr. Latif's ownership). I must say I can't eat curry from anywhere else.... The staff and family that work there are excellent and always have a good chat with me when I go, not many waiting staff have as good a personality as these!
