Just had the early evening special, £6.95 for starter, main, choice of rice + coffee. Only £2.50 for a nice chilled pint of lager. Have to say it was as good as any Indian meal I have had, big portions cooked as fresh as can be, couldn't fault it. Recommend keema pilau, peshwari nan and sag paneer to accompany. Only a couple of other people dining so service was perfect. Tip; You may have to ask for the special menu as they were handing out the full price ones otherwise.

such a great spot for a restaurant - feels like you have escaped the city! tried black pudding for the first time on my last visit and it was superb, followed by a really delicate north sea fish cake. a thoroughly enjoyable meal. I always enjoy going to blackfriars.

A visit to the Komal is a delicious experience. It has a great atmosphere which is complimented by friendly and courteous staff. As for the food ... simply put, nowhere comes remotely close to the scintillating flavour sensations. Excellent menu, full of choice for vegetarians and carnivores alike!

this has to be one of the best ever genuine chinese restaurants in Newcastle. Try the spicy crabs, the cold chicken and sesame starter, the shredded duck, the spicy lamb. Its like being in China I tell you- and I've been there many times. The owner Mark is super friendly and can advise on your taste buds. it the business.

Stayed in the Copthorne hotel for a weekend away with my husband a couple of weeks ago . We ate at the Orchid and will definitely be going again soon. Exquisite quality delicious food and superb friendly service. Would recommend 100% to anyone seeking a wonderful meal out.

Fantastic little place. extensive authentic main menu, along with takeaway favourites, food is absolutely gorgeous, and the lunch and happy hour menus are excellent value. went here for the first time a few weeks a go, and i've been 4 times since!

I love Mamma Mia's! I've been going there for years and feel like part of a community, the owners and staff are lovely and you are always guaranteed to have a great time. The food is wonderful and it is very cheap too! I would recommend it to everyone!

The food was so fresh and tasty - I had a tiger prawn starter and then a steak - all locally sourced and meat organic and you can taste the quality.. the service was so friendly. Try and get a booth if you can! They also bake all their own bread and desserts - I can't believe I've lived in Newcastle nearly 4 years and only just discovered it - it was busy, def Newcastle's best kept secret!

the pizza were crap. I gave specific instruction very little cheese and they put so much in. there chicken looked old and hard and it smells

the food was shit, there were rats in the restaurant, and the staff are not helpful. I had to wait 43 minutes for my starter, and there were only three people eating.

We went for my birthday in aug it is so nice def go again really nice food.

I've been for curries in West Midlands, Rushholme, Brick Lane and Southall, and this a great curryhouse. Best in the northeast in my opinion

Another fantastic meal at the Skyapple Cafe! By far the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Newcastle! The Tacocopia is second to none and the Lemon Cotton Cheesecake is heaven! I could not recommend this place highly enough! The tastiest food you will ever eat!

I have been to Dragon House for years since i was 18 years old. The atmosphere and place is good for party, meeting and Karaoke plus function room available as well. The most exciting is the Chinese New Year celebration on the street bring me come back to the restaurant every year as this restaurant is located in the centre of the street. I been there with my partner to celebrate valentine every year as the price is reasonable. I'll definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes Chinese foods. Cheers.

we are regular diners here you can get a starter, curry, rice and a cup of coffee all for £6.95 from 6 -9 mon to sat (i think). excellent value for money cheaper to eat out then getting a take away! Staff are always courteous and helpful. Love going here try this Indian excellent value for money without compromising on quality

Saroo, one of the most fantastic Asian restaurant I have ever seen in the United kingdom, I am not a guest who has been treated well in this restaurant , But there was a time when I used to work in this restaurant , One of the most beautiful restaurant I have ever seen. I live in Manchester now and Manchester is know for its Asian restaurants , but to be honest I have never tasted the same traditional flavor here yet.I am not writing here cause I used to work there but yes to have a nice quality Asian meal and also have a wonderful evening SAROO is the best place. I would recommend some nice dishes , definitely try these in saroo and you will find why I love SAROO, The king of all dishes(My favorite)- Chicken /lamb karai ( Ask them to make it Apna Style) Chicken/Lamb jalfarezi ( best seller I guess) Rogan josh Nan's are common in all Restaurants, Ask them to make some nice hot Chapatis for you .. Ummmm I miss Newcastle.

We have been to the Saroo a few times and it never fails to impress. The food is great and the surroundings are very modern and very comfortable. The West Road has two excellent indian restaurants and they are both worth a visit, give the Saroo and the Shahira a go.
