I dine here quite often. This time we fetched our 14 year old grandson. He was delighted with his meal and surrounding. Has asked to come again.

Came for tea on Saturday 24/05/25 @17.30 myself and husband both ok ordered the cod and chips , my husband's meal was perfect fish lovely where as mine was complete opposite hard batter and very little fish inside it , what fish there was had to be scraped of the batter, if both the meals where as good as my husband's I would give it 10/10 but my meal sadly let it down and we won't be returning .

Been to The Plough quite a few times now due to pleasant, polite and efficient service from the staff, plus the choice and reasonable cost of the food Would highly recommend a visit . An overall lovely country pub in which to eat.

A Delightful Sunday Lunch Experience We recently enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at The Plough we had the Trio of meat Sunday roast, The meal itself was hearty and well-prepared, with generous portions and rich, comforting flavors that hit all the right notes for a traditional Sunday roast. What truly elevated the experience was the attentive, friendly staff. From the moment we arrived, service was friendly, efficient, and thoughtful without being overbearing. Our meals arrived quickly, allowing us to relax and enjoy our lunch without feeling rushed. In all, it was a warm and welcoming dining experience that combined excellent food with exceptional service. We’d happily return for another Sunday lunch.

Popped in for Sunday lunch! We had the roast beef and half roast chicken! Very tasty and plenty of food! I couldn’t finish it all!

Brought son and daughter in law, on holiday from Bristol.Fabulous meal, atmosphere very pleasant, service perfect. Evening rounded off by most beautiful sunset we’ve ever seen.

Really enjoyed our Sunday lunch here on 11 May. Hubby had the trio of meats roast and was oohing and aahing over every mouthful. I had the butternut squash wellington which was delicious and nice to have a vegan option on a par with a traditional roast. Would have liked to have had the seasonal vegetables from the roast so maybe the chef could consider tweaking the traditional roast to make it vegan and serve with the wellington, that would be perfect! Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful day so we ate outside and only ventured inside for the loos, which were spotless and I always think a mark of good place. The decor was lovely though and we would definitely revisit if in the area.

Dined here Sunday 4th May my partner had his usual roast beef Sunday dinner I had the steak and ale pie chips and seasonal veg absolutely delicious clean plates from both of us ,the staff were attentive to our needs and both friendly and polite.All in all a great experience highly recommend it to anybody.

Food excellent polite and friendly service

First time in restaurant only been before for a drink, we both had a really enjoyable Sunday roast and dessert,can’t wait to go back and try other meals.

The food we had was ok but the service was terrible we waited 1 hour & 25 minutes after ordering we were told there was a 35 minute wait for the food but it was clearly much longer! Which we all felt wasn’t acceptable

Excellent food in a relaxing atmosphere

We booked to take my parents out for meal on Saturday 29/03/25 at 1.30pm for my mums birthday and Mother’s Day. When we got there the place was busy but only had 2 staff on. We were told there was up to 1 hour wait for food as they were low staff and very busy. When my mother ordered liver we were told they never had any as it had not been delivered yet. After ordering our food we waited for over 1 hour for the food to come and when mine & my husband’s mix grills turned up all the meat was cold. We asked for the streak to be med rare when it came it was well done and cold. Not once did any staff come to ask if the food was ok as I wanted to return the mix grills. We waited 20 minutes for someone to take our order for drinks, after taking the order the drinks never came as there was no staff so my husband had to go get the drinks himself from the bar. When we tried to order dessert my father was told they don’t have custard to go with the apple pie but it was on on
