Definitely book as it gets busy. Service excellent. Food delicious. Atmosphere relaxing. I am lactose intolerant and great care was taken to cater for my needs. Highly recommended.

The food and service was superb as usual.

My husband and I visited yesterday 2nd March 2025 for Sunday lunch (second sitting ) We have been to Y Sgwar many times and have always found rather food to be excellent and we weren’t disappointed yet again. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere bubbling… We visit the area very frequently as we have a lodge there and we are blessed with so many excellent restaurants in the area, Y Sgwar is one of our favourites and we will definitely be returning very soon..

We had a brilliant time at Y Sgwar and the food was delicious. I would recommend booking in advance as it can get very busy. The staff were incredibly helpful regarding my boyfriend's gluten allergy and made sure that we felt catered for. The majority of the menu is gluten free which is great for coeliac. The dishes are presented beautifully and taste just as good as they look! I would definitely recommend to anyone in the Tremadog area.

Great value, friendly staff and excellent food. Never had a poor experience

The food was really good, best I've had in a long time with some amazing flavours. We had an early bird meal which was good value and we were stuffed!. The only drawback I have, is that we found the restraunt a little cold, could of done with a few heaters. Staff were very friendly and attentive.

Excellent food and service will go again my friend had the lamb said it was brilliant so I will have that next time .Don’t be put off by the price it’s about value it was well worth the money……

Cannot fault the Y Sgwar food, the staff, and the ambience. So glad we live locally; it's amazing, we are so lucky. Plenty of delicious, home-cooked food, well presented and delivered. Evening meals and Sunday lunch are fab. Prices are also very realistic. Well done, all.

Whilst on holiday, we visited Y Sgwar for the first time this weekend to have Sunday Lunch. It was nice to see that it was busy and very popular. The Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious and I don’t think we’ve ever seen such large Yorkshire puddings! The staff were polite and welcoming and very efficient. Would definitely recommend. Hope we have the opportunity to come again.

We had a family meal on 22nd February.This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. The food was expertly cooked and served hot and on time. So many restaurants seem to fill the plate with chips and reduce the size of the main ingredient. Not here. My only criticism was the price. You expect to pay for quality of the food and the expertise to cook it correctly, but this is only a minor criticism and we would all look forward to a return visit in the immediate future.

Fantastic food and great service.

We had a delicious family meal at Y Sgwar on Tuesday 19th February. Very welcoming atmosphere. On arrival we were escorted to our table promptly. And provided with menu’s, together with our drinks order taken. Both the food and drink menus provide plenty of variety and choice to suit all. We had two course each, a starter and main, the portions were just right, pleasantly presented, in itself a work of art. Each bite full of flavour that certainly tantalised the tastebuds. The service was excellent, attentive, but not intrusive. The staff very efficient, providing a relaxed dining experience. Certainly recommend, a little jewel in the Tremadog crown, we’ll definitely be back, again and again!

The food was excellent. Very short waiting time between ordering the meal and it arriving. The staff were attentive and friendly and the prices very reasonable. My go-to place for a Sunday roast.
