I'm a regular in porthmadog for work and was recommended Y sgwar. It did not disappoint. Super friendly staff, amazing food and great atmosphere! Hoping to return next time I'm in the area

This was my second visit to Y Sgwar and again the food was fabulous. I had the crusted lamb (cooked to my taste) and it was delicious. I then had the apple crumble and glad to see custard was offered (and enjoyed)! Service spot on and the place was nicely busy.

Delighted to have the opportunity to return to Tremadog and have a meal at Y Sgwar. It was every bit as good as we remembered. Could not fault the ambiance, service was faultless and the food excellent. Can’t wait to go back.

We have eaten here several times. The food is exceptional and the service second to none. The waiting staff are all quite young but very well trained. They are also all dressed the same which looks very smart and professional. Not many restaurants do you see this nowadays. Even though it has been quite busy each time we have been the service is very quick and efficient. There is a lovely sitting area and the restaurant always has fresh flowers on the reception. Would thoroughly recommend

We had a wonderful family meal at Y Sgwar on Saturday July 20th. It was to celebrate an 18th birthday and a Golden Wedding Anniversary. We couldn't fault anything, food service and attention to detail. The scallop starter was fantastic, could have eaten lots more. Mains were good too. Thank you to all of the staff for making it a memorable evening The only downside was the lack of Malbec !

The food was really good and the staff great my only complaint was the smell from the cooking ? Maybe better extracter fans would help as the food deserves a good environment

Excellent fillet steak mash and side salad. Unfortunately the salad came with a vinegrette which was not to my taste

We had a fabulous dinner at Y Sgwar and would highly recommend it. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It was the perfect choice for our last evening staying at nearby Portmeirion.

We took our children to the early bird offer mid week and we were absolutely blown away by the food. Absolutely beautiful and the staff were so nice and helpful with the children. Menu was fantastic and the children loved the menu. Will look forward to our next visit when we book again

Best Sunday lunch anywhere ..food 5 star..service excellent ..staff friendly and very helpful..very well organised ..definitely recommend to anyone..took friends recently and they could not believe how good it was ..well done

Booked an early-bird slot at 5pm for two! Beautiful decor, very friendly staff who were very attentive throughout our meal, lovely relaxed atmosphere. The food was wonderful, very tastey, hot and well presented. We ordered steak, which was cooked to perfection. We were staying in Tremadog for a few days break, would definitely eat here again and would thoroughly recommend anyone staying nearby, try this lovely little restaurant.

We booked Y Sgwâr on the recommendation of our accommodation host while my son and I were staying in the area for a few days. It did not disappoint and my meal was the most delicious I have had in a restaurant in a very long time. The atmosphere was warm but not pretentious and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The service was extremely friendly and efficient and we will most certainly be back!
