Y Sgwar – PorthmadogThis is a perfect little restaurant in such a congenial small planned town worth a visit in itself: In the bright dining room the atmosphere was convivial made possible by the jolliest maitre’D I think I’ve ever come across. Each of the dishes we ordered was absolutely delicious and clearly had been individually prepared for each customer. We were made to feel very welcome and told that we would be warmly received any time we came back. It’s great to feel special in a restaurant and not always the case.

The front of house staff were attentive. Such a shame its a long way from Nottingham otherwise both my husband and I would eat there every week.
Y Sgwar – PorthmadogWe always enjoy the high standard of food at Y Sgwar. As we had 2 children with us yesterday, we booked Early Bird. As it costs 23.50 ( the same price as Sunday lunch ) we were disappointed with the quantity. The Lamb Roast was much smaller than the Sunday quantity with no side vegetables and my husband was still hungry as was I after the smallish Seabass. The Puddings were ample, however. Sorry to be disappointed.

We received a warm welcome and service by the team was very good, the food we received was tasty and hot which all aided to a great evening out with family and friends.
