Very nice welcome, excellent service and exceptional food cooked to perfection Staff are very friendly and attentive My husband had fillet steak which was “superb” I had Thai flavoured crusted cod which was equally as good. Definitely our favourite place !!!

Having read numerous good reviews on Trip advisor I booked a table online. we entered to a warm welcome and the waitresses were very attentive and cheerful during meal. Food was very well presented and the flavours were excellent in every course. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food, would have no hesitation in recommending dining there.

The atmosphere at the restaurant is very welcoming and the staff are attentive without intruding into your evening. The front of house person was extremely helpful and you were made to feel that your booking was important and that the staff would take care of your needs. The food arrived in perfect time, enough between courses without feeling that you had been forgotten. The food was exceptional, hot, tasty and very well presented. There was a good choice, including vegetarian and vegan options. Overall it was a fantastic evening, great food, great atmosphere and excellent service.

Great food, Great service and value for money.

Lorraine, Yol and the team always make you feel so welcome. The food is consistently excellent and the service consistently friendly and exceptional. We've tried the set menu, a la carte, early bird and Sunday lunch. Probably tried everything on the menu too! It simply tastes fantastic and is beautifully presented. We go back time and time again because we enjoy it there so much!

This was our first time at the restaurant following recommendations from friends. We ate from the Early Bird Menu. The restaurant was busy and there was a lovely atmosphere. We had great, friendly service from the team. There were only two small things to mention, the pastry crust on the pie was slightly burnt and we were only originally served with one small dish of veg for 3 of us, until we queried this and were quickly given another dish and asked if we wanted a third. The lamb dish was very good. We would definitely eat here again.

As soon as we walked in you couldn’t fault a single thing, from the welcome, service and food .Will definitely be returning and already recommended to friends .

Amazing food and first class service. We visit the area every summer and always try to eat here (we've started booking a table here when we book the holiday, just to make sure we get a table!). At the end of our meal here last week my partner announced that he thought he'd just eaten his best ever restaurant meal - high praise as we eat out a lot!

I live locally and I've eaten twice at Y Sgwar now. Each time all the food has been splendid and the service impeccable. The menu includes some well cooked Welsh favorites such as lamb and Sunday Roast, as well as delicious asian influenced dishes for variety. I shall definitely be going there regularly. It would also be a great place for special occasions or when you want to treat yourself.

Spent a splendid evening with f&f here. Everybody agreed that food was excellent, nicely presented, and served by friendly staff. Beautiful colour concept, too, matching the tone of walls, tables and plates harmonically

My meal at Y Sgwâr was fantsstic! The staff were very kind and attentive, the atmosphere was very contemporary (I particularly liked the smooth jazz covers of top-40 hits played at a pleasant volume), and my meal was fabulous: I had garlic mushrooms on sourdough toast to start, a rump of Welsh lamb for my main with a side of dauphinoise potatoes and broccoli, and an apple tart with a scoop of ice cream for dessert. The mushrooms were decadent, very nicely prepared and presented, and the garlic flavor was perfect. The lamb really stole the show — cooked rare at my server’s suggestion, and with the mint jus, it practically melted in my mouth! The broccoli and potatoes were also very good. I will say the dessert was pretty average, but I live by the rule that “if it isn’t bad, it’s good” — and I definitely enjoyed it! I really appreciated the service at Y Sgwâr; I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to eat or drink, and everyone was very accommodating of me and had plenty of patience while I worked myself out — though I’m sure it got easier for them after I’d downed two cocktails and loosened up a bit! I was very pleased with my experience at Y Sgwâr, and I would love to come back someday. I highly recommend it!

Absolutely lovely! Dinner on Tuesday evening while working in Beddgelert. Staff are marvellous. I had 2 starters scampi amd mussels- the attention to detail and taste was delicious My husband had goats cheese and Thai curry main - he loved both. We always try and eat at Y Sgwar when we are in the area we ❤️it

Love Y Sgwar, the food is amazing and the staff are so friendly. We’ve been coming here regularly for a couple of years now and don’t think that we’ll be stopping any time soon. I’m sure that the same goes for all of the regulars that we always see x
