A group of 6 of us visited this restaurant on a Saturday in January. We ensured we booked in advance. Although the food was great, I have to say that the service was bad. After ordering some drinks we had to prompt the waiter several times to actually bring them over. When the mains came out we were missing one, when this was pointed out to one of the waiters he simply shrugged. It arrived almost 10 minutes after everyone else's with no apology. Don't think any of our party would return.

This place is a jewel for the Carleton community. At any time you are sure of a friendly welcome by experienced staff. Excellent meals all fresh cooked with well sourced ingredients. My favourite is the magnificent soup at lunchtime with classy sandwiches, but mornings and breakfast, or afternoon tea is a pleasure to look forward to as well.Days are planned to incorporate a visit to Salt!

A group of 5 of us visited Thai by night on Friday 18th February 2011 for the 1st time after receiving recommendation from friends. When we arrived, the 5 of us were squashed round a table for 4 right next to the door. Needless to say every time someone went out for a cigarette break we were wafted by a huge blast of cold air, and someone seemed to go out for a break every 2 mins!!!! We placed our order and although the starter was quick to arrive, we only had 1 finger bowl between 5 of us and some of the mixed combo starters were cold. After finishing our starter we had to wait over an hour for our main course and were beginning to think we hadn't ordered one. They didn't clear away our starter dishes and we were basically left unattended. After an hour of waiting, when we asked where the main courses were, we were told that they had 2 large groups in, and when they had been finished with they would get our food!!! Not great customer service. Then when the main courses did eventually arrive, we were one short, they sent 4 instead of 5. The rest of us didn't like to start without one of the group so asked where it was and it became apparent that it had been completely forgotten. Those of us that had a main course decided to get on and eat it as it was now lukewarm. When they did bring the main course, no apology was made and the noodles were very very greasy. Needless to say we will not be visiting the Thai at Night again, and if your looking for attentive service with hot food, I would suggest that you avoid!!

I get regular takeaways from here and every one has been excellent, prices reasonable too. Best to ring your order in before collecting at weekends if you can as it often gets busy

The absolute best Thai food around. You have to go as far as Manchester to find quality like this.

We've not eaten here for a few years and never upstairs on the floor. while this is a novel idea its far from practical, very uncomfortable if you are wanting to savour the evening after you have finished eating. The food was ok, the quality and quantity seemed to have suffered from when the place first opened, however we will no doubt be returning in a few more years.

Saw the ad in the evening Gazette recently about this place and remember this chef from her time at the Mews. Went recently, her food is still fantastic and would certainly recommend Suda Thai.

first visit to mews Thai on Saturday night and its AMAZING the food id the best Thai I've ever had, We had guests from Italy so we sat on the cushions on the top floor and it was a little uncomfortable but a must do for a true experience... we had the banquet for 4 people and there was soo much left...cant wait for our next visit.

After having booked a table for 15 China Red called up and told me that actually my reservation had been cancelled because they were closed for a week! They didn't even apologise! Leaving me two days to try and find another restaurant! THEN on the day I had originally booked the meal they e-mailed asking me to confirm the booking and called me three times asking me if I would have the meal there because they weren't actually closed! Completely mixed signals. Ruined my night. AND the food isn't even that good. So do not go the China Red!

I visited the Thai by Night on the 29th Dec 2010 for a Christmas treat with a few of my friends, and I must say, we were treated to some lovely tasting food with excellent friendly service. A real treat!!

We went here on 04/01 in a large party, I was unimpressed by the staff seemed totally unorganised, forgot to cook some starters, served drinks in view of customers from 2 litre Pepsi and lemonade bottles bought from supermarkets, food portions small and very expensive for portion size.

As a regular at the Saffron, I can only recommend that everyone tries it. It's got a good atmosphere and the staff are superb and always have a welcoming smile. The food is excellent and there is quite a choice of different dishes to choose from. We even go on Christmas Day, and even the Christmas Dinner for the ones that don't want to try a Curry is absolutely superb. Well Done Saffron, see you soon.

I went to Saffron just before Christmas for my birthday night out and we had a lovely night. It was booked late but staff did everything they could to squeeze us in and we weren't disappointed. The waiters and managers were really helpful and attentive and were more than happy to recommend different dishes. Service was quick and efficient and the food was lovely. It is reasonably priced and in a good location within Poulton. I would definitely recommend, it's my favourite restaurant for miles.

Excellent food, Excellent atmosphere, Excellent staff. Saffron is the place to eat in Poulton. We have recommended Saffron to people and family and friends when they come up from around the country always want an Indian from Saffron. Highly Recommended to both the inexperienced curry eater, and the experienced. You fancy something with a little more heat the staff will endeavour to please.

We have visited the shard riverside inn a few times since we moved into the area, and each time has been a pleasure, the food and its service is first class, I am inclined to agree though that the bar service is a little surly, could do with someone behind there who isn't afraid to smile.

Very bad. I sent my food back three times and I got no apology. It was very expensive and the cook constantly shouted at the waitress. I would not recommend this cafe at all.
