Thyme – PoultonCelebrated my birthday at the Greedy Badger and I was delighted with the service and food. I chose the Beef and Marrow pie and it was absolutely delicious. Everyone in my party commented how wonderful the food was and also how it was piping hot too. I had a fantastic birthday and would highly recommend the Greedy Badger.
The Greedy Badger at The Miller Arms – Poulton-Le-FyldeWe went for our wedding anniversary. Couldn’t fault the place, nor the service, and certainly not the quality of the food! We splashed out on the “Surf n Turf Greedy Platter” which was absolutely superb. Rump steak, half rack of the most beautiful tender ribs, salmon fillet, half a dozen huge king prawns, calamari rings, chips, ciabatta and some amazingly tasty sauces and a large dollop of purple coleslaw. Wow! We are not lightweights, and we struggled to finish it all! And the wines we chose were the perfect match, her indoors had a rosé wine, I had Malbec which was smooth, fruity and full bodied. Our meal was early evening on a Sunday, and there were not a lot there, although it had obviously been busy earlier, but had a nice chat with the landlord and landlady and another four diners. We will certainly be back!
The Greedy Badger at The Miller Arms – Poulton-Le-FyldeCame here Saturday for drinks with friends. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Lovely to sit in the outdoor seating and enjoy the sun.
Thyme – PoultonBooked a Sunday lunch for 3pm Meat Choices from beef, chicken and lamb, we chose the beef ,which was Very tender , no fat. tradition Sunday lunch , Well presented and portion size was good , food hot, We also ordered cheese cauliflower and the pigs in blankets as side orders Staff very polite and friendly We will be happy to return in the near future
The Greedy Badger at The Miller Arms – Poulton-Le-FyldeUnfortunately found gristle/bone in a chicken sandwich, waited ages to order an alternative, waited ages for it to arrive. The staff seemed to completely avoid us as I was trying to catch their eye to let them know as I'd finished my lunch we would like to just pay and leave. No apology, no acknowledgement, no customer service and poor quality food for the prices charged.
Thyme – PoultonWe are a group of 10 friends who go out on a regular basis for a meal together. Waitress was friendly and helpful. On the whole the food was very good. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Only niggle was length of time it took before we were served and 1 meal was a little delayed however I understand that on that night they were a chef short and we were a larger party. Would recommend and would go again all be it as a 2 or party of 4. Others in the group said the same. I would say give them a go.
The Greedy Badger at The Miller Arms – Poulton-Le-FyldeI have eaten here now three times and it has always been good but the other day was superb. The cheese pie was like nothing I had had before and I would like a lesson in cooking vegetables from your chef. They were beautiful. Mum loved her salad and my son is always wary of ordering pizza because sometimes it can be 8 inches! He needn't have worried, it was huge and delicious. A couple of points taken off for atmosphere as it is very loud in there with no soft furnishings to absorb noise and so conversation was difficult.
Thyme – PoultonThat large breakfast is something else!
Thyme – PoultonI booked Sunday lunch for my family on the as we have done previously. Food was great, three of us had Roast Dinners and the forth being Fish and Chips and all were nicely cooked and very enjoyable. The only minor negative was that our table staff on that day could have been more welcoming during service. It might have just been an off day . But other than that we had a great lunch.
Thyme – PoultonService a little slow, but restaurant quite busy. Food good, but rather expensive
Thyme – PoultonWe have dined here a few times, the food has always been excellent, the staff very friendly, prices reasonable and it's dog friendly. What more could you ask for.
Thyme – Poulton50% off burgers and pizzas on Thursday 13th
Thyme – PoultonWith friends who had never been before… (quite fussy..) we all thoroughly enjoyed not only the meal but the dining experience also .. nice attentive staff..and very tasty food .. thanks Thyme..
Thyme – PoultonBeen here many times but it all depends on who is working in the kitchen that day. Had the mushrooms on toast for brunch, two large slices of toast and just a tiny amount of mushrooms, but disappointing for the money. Coffee is beautiful
Thyme – PoultonFood was lovely but would have preferred a couple more savoury pieces and less sweet.
Thyme – PoultonAll the family had a roast dinner, oh my goodness it's the best I've ever had, turkey, beef and vegetarian nut roast, the gravy on the turkey dinner was amazing, I've been quite a few times for meals but this meal is the best yet. Wow!! We came for my daughters birthday and for fathers day, lovely day, but please don't run out of lemons, makes all the difference to a glass of water!!
Thyme – PoultonWe have been coming to Espanol for years and usually spend every Christmas Eve here. Since having a child we have not been able to get there so a very rare night off meant we booked a table for last night. As soon as we arrived we noticed the atmosphere was not as welcoming as normal and were put on the high stools by the door to dine. We were told they had a large party in who had all the menus so could not offer us one. This large party that turned out to be just 9 people was mentioned several times to us and the table next to us and we realised they would be the main priority for the evening. We had our drinks order taken but no drinks appeared. We were given 1 menu and they came to take our order. Before we could start ordering the waitress asked if we were just ordering tapas. We said we were planning to order the chuleton- the most expensive meal on the menu. The flippant response was “our large party of 9 have just reserved them all” We did something we’ve never done before and decided to walk out. We were so disappointed with the service from the moment we walked in. The restaurant seems to lack it’s authentic charm but had more a feel of a wine bar. I can’t argue that the food is delicious as it was always my favourite and I have recommended to a lot of people. However, based on service alone we will never go there again.
