Preston in Lancashire is a cosmopolitan city located on the River Ribble and is also the home of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN). Many restaurants and food pubs can be found in the city centre and its suburbs.

I have been a couple of times to this indian restaurant & can defo recommend a visit to it. Although the prices are quite dear for what you get it is very very tasty. There are some lovely comfy sofas to sit on whilst you wait & browse through the menu & the staff are all really friendly.

This is by far the best indian restaurant I have visited throughout the north west. I have been many times & just keep coming back. The food is absolutely divine, it can be a bit pricey but worth it & the staff are all very friendly & helpful. Defo recommend this place!

food excellent i heard they had a good head chef so went to find out and wasn't disappointed the tall man behind the bar was very helpful and courteous

I was expecting big things from Thyme as the friends we were with have visited two or three times before and had always been very impressed. I have to say that I was very disappointed at both the level of service and the general quality of the evening. This was the first time I have ever been to a 'high quality' restaurant and been addressed by the waiter as 'guys'. I would also have expected an expensive bottle of red wine to be served in a red wine glass, not a tumbler borrowed from the pub downstairs. It is the little things that should be right that were not on our evening, including the cutlery that was so scratched it must have been used a thousand times before. We still hear good comments about Thyme and are going to visit again with the same friends in December, I only hope that we experience the Thyme that others return such glowing compliments about, not the one we visited back in June.

Nice food but the attitude of the lady behind the bar, who I took to be the manager was dreadful. She needs to go on a customer relations course, we will not be going back!

always excellent food and service. The decor is a bit dated and wouldn't go here for a romantic meal for 2 but for a curry on the way home after a few beers this is definitely the best curry house in Preston city centre

I visited this place on a Sunday evening, - Wasn't sure what to expect. When we got inside I was so impressed! The rural location, the design of the building the restaurant was situated, the architecture inside and out was beautiful! Staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Food was out of this world!!! Really competes with the big rollers situated in the city centre, very impressed! I live 40 mins away from this restaurant, but WILL be making a journey back ! Recommend to anyone wanting a quality dining experience that is child friendly too! It must be even better in the peak of summer with the glass extension at the front of the restaurant! Keep up the good work xx

Don't go to Bukhara expecting the usual Beer and curry night. They dont sell alcohol for a start. No big deal really when you consider the quality of food is fantastic. I'm a real foodie and have been several times and loved it every time. Originally recommended by an Indian friend, Bhukara tends to make more authentic Indian dishes. I guess the fact that the restaurant is usually largely populated by Indian families, points to the fact that they serve REAL Indian food. Trust me, try it and you'll never quite see the local Indian takeaway in the same light again. I would recommend their signature mango salad (spicy!) and try some Mango Lassi to boot. Mmmm, makes me want to have a curry just thinking about it.

Been to lots of Italian restaurants and this is one of the best. We went on a Saturday night and had a table booked for 8.45pm and had to wait half an hour but it wasn't a problem as the bar area is lovely - really comfy sofas and a good atmosphere. Very busy but the service was excellent. I had octopus salad to start and pasta for main and both were excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will go back very soon. Beats Tiggis and Angelos by far. Menu was varied and lots of specials on offer. Price was average for an Italian, some people may say a bit on the expensive side but it was well worth it.

Although the food was good, there wasn't much choice for soft drinks. I would say it's a place to go once. I expected a proper Thai restaurant but the place looked more like a English tea house.

Tiggis Pizzeria – Preston

This is Indian cuisine at its best. The food is fresh and light. We are slowly working through the extensive menu and everything is wonderful. The breads are highly recommended as are the fish dishes. The introduction of a fine wine selection has made this restaurant even better and the service is attentive and confident, but very unobtrusive. This allows you to relax and enjoy an intimate evening. Don't waste your money at Heathcotes etc. Here you can have higher quality food and better wine for a much smaller price.

mmmm food

What has happened the food is still outstanding but the last two times i have visited the place is totally dead, far more staff than customers. It's very sad to see this happen to a fantastic restaurant.

Always a great meal, Fantastic selection on the special boards, and you never have to wait to long for your food, good wine list. Very cosy interior and friendly staff, I was very happy to find they had opened another restaurant closer to us (The Beaumont in Clayto-le-woods) , the only draw back is the prices are higher for both food and drink at the sister restaurant which i find a little strange as the menu's are identical and the restaurant's are not much more than 1 mile apart!

Hospital Inn – Preston

Absolutely brilliant food, i am actually in the process of ringing them up to book a table and came across this website for their telephone number. The leg of lamb was beautifully presented with the potatoes, gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous food!!!

The Smiths (no not Delia's crew)

We had a great night here, the food was excellent! not a moan or even a mumble from any member of our party, there were eight of us and we all had different dishes, each and every dish was really, really good, very nicely presented and very delicious. The Lemon Meringue Pie is scrumptious!(as well as everything else..) The place itself is very clean and has a nice cool, calm ambience, very relaxing, the staff are nice and friendly too, we are looking forward to our next visit.
