The Sirloin Inn – PrestonWe visited here last night on a quiet thurs evening. Our welcome was particularly welcoming, the decor was unique and we were made to feel right at home. The meal was gorgeous, the chips were home made and the lamb was so tender it was divine. Our waiter who may well have been the manager could not have been any more accommodating. everyone really went that extra mile with our welcome, service and food. I will definately be going back again and would reccommend anyone esle to visit. Thumbs up!
Nellie The Elephant – PrestonWe visited Bangla tonight on a quiet mid week evening. The staff were extremely welcoming and along with the unique warm decor , we were made to feel right at home. We had poppadoms and chutney intially. After mentioning to our waiter that we liked particularly spicy food, he came out with an additional sauce for us to try which was very tasty. He then offered to write down the ingredients for us to enable us to make it at home. We then had starters which were chicken pakoras and a mixed kebab. Both very nice. To finish we shared a main meal which was a tandori mixed grill with rice, chips (home made) and garlic naan bread. Everything we had was delicious, particularly the lamb. Our waiter could not have been more accommodating and informative (recommending we come back on tues night where they have a special lamb shank evening and also do a tandori barbeque). The overall experience was very enjoyable and I will definately visit again. The staff really took every opportunity to go that extra mile with everything. Thumbs up!
Nellie The Elephant – Preston8 of us went for Fathers Day and what a fantastic meal we had. The food was superb, atmosphere was great and the staff were wonderful. This is not a cheap place to go but if you believe in paying for quality this is the place for you. No-one was disappointed. We can highly recommend the scallops and pâté for starters and the steak and ale pie was loaded with steak. If you like a nice red wine the Beajoloais was the best I ever had (and I have 2 wine qualifications!). I cannot recommend this place enough and will be going back again soon!
The Sirloin Inn – Prestonvisited Sirloin after refurb for Sunday lunch. Had roast beef and my wife roast pork. Both were tough and only just warm and served with a watery gravy. Difficult to tell the difference in the meats. Staff very pleasant and service good. First class ale and wine!
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonGo back 30 years. Remember what a true English pub was like. The Legh Arms is just that establishment . I regularly frequent this pub both on my own and With Family. Excellent ambience, clean and comfortable. What more can you ask. A treasure in Lancashire.
Legh Arms – PrestonWent to the Sirloin Restaurant on Friday 8 June 2012. Heard the restaurant had been re opened so decided to give it a try. The decor has changed which was nice, but did prefer the more modern look previously. The food was lovely and well presented and the my husband really enjoyed his steak! Would definately go back and hopefully some special offers will come on for midweek dining...might try the sunday lunch with family soon!
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonWe recently had my wife's birthday party at Bangla Fusion and right from the offset the team were very accommodating and took on board all our requests. We had about 50 guests so it was a tough task for them to ensure all the food came out in a timely manor. I am happy to say that it did and as usual the food was excellent. We have eaten in many Indian Restaurants and Bangla Fusion is definitely near the top in our ratings. The team are very friendly and always make you feel right at home. The waiters are very sociable and are always good fun to talk to. All in all I cannot thank them enough for making the evening so special and additionally I really would recommend that you give them a try!
Nellie The Elephant – PrestonTried the sirloin inn for Sunday lunch following there recent refurbishment for the first time. First impressions were pleasing, very polite staff, nice and clean, and a good selection of cask ales. I chose the steak pie with mash and seasonal veg while my partner chose the Sunday roast which was beef. After a 30 minute wait we were presented with what was probably the smallest portions of food we have had whilst dining out.admittedly the food was very good but what's with the micro portions at maximum prices! Also I feel the service requires work as it was slow to say the least with just a few people dining. All in all a enjoyable afternoon out, I would return but feel everything needs to bed in first.
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonSimply Brilliant, but could you vary the veggie menu a bit.
The Continental – Prestonvery enjoyable evening would highly recommed
The Sirloin Inn – PrestonWe visited the Smiths Arms on Saturday evening and were very pleased with the food and hospitality. The staff were very polite and the food was outstanding!! Very pleased and will definitely be returning.
Smiths Arms – PrestonModern fresh setting, good service and assistance with the menu. Fun karaoke special sitting room to start the evening. Great choice of delicious food.
Tang KTV Traditional Dim Sum & Authentic Chinese Restaurant – PrestonWent to a St George's Day charity walk what a fab day visited a few pubs but the best one was the smiths arms landlady and landlord are the best around the food, service, staff and place best in Lancashire will return a lot
Smiths Arms – PrestonTook longer than 45 minutes to turn up. We ordered Duck Chow Mein, Singapore Vermicelli, King Do Ribs, and chips. To be fair the King Do ribs were pretty good. However this was but one item - The Duck Chow Mein contained very little else other than noodles, soy sauce and duck. I could be wrong but generally there should be some vegetables in the chow mein. The duck was very very dried out. The Singapore Noodles (in keeping with the chow mein above) contained an awful lot of noodles, a sprinkle of prawns and some vegetables. The chips were greasy, soggy, cold and barely edible. This is the first and last time we will be ordering food from the Bamboo Chinese Take Away. For the £17 paid for this lot we would both expect much better food.
Bamboo Chinese Takeaway – PrestonExcellent Indian restaurant. The host asks what type of curry you like and then comes up with a dish to suit. Ours were the perfect selection for us. The service was efficient and friendly, with the staff taking time out out to interact with our baby. We sat in the conservatory which was airy and bright. The best Indian in the area.
Barton Bangla Brasserie – PrestonI have been to this pub once previously and had a nice meal. That was years ago. I think the pub has changed hands since then. We were taking part in an annual beer festival for charity through a friend who pointed out the landlady who was going bezerk at people who were standing outside with dogs, and other people who were getting in her was as she charged around glass collecting. But the beer was good. Didn't stay long enough to sample the food with that landlady though! I also witness the bar man shouting at a few people and didn't really remove his angry expression the whole time he'd been there. The other pubs on the charity drinking route had a slightly less frosty reception :-)
Smiths Arms – PrestonTook the kids to the St Georges day crawl and was shocked to witness the landlady losing complete control and swearing at customers for feeding their dogs outside (lots of paying guests with dogs annually on this route so really surprising to see someone object?!) and using their phone to call cabs etc, everything but ordering full plates of food infuriated her?! Shrink required!!!!
Smiths Arms – PrestonWeekend breakfast served all day Saturday and Sunday. Two Rashers of Grilled Back Bacon • Two Pork Sausages • Fried Egg • Hash Browns • Baked Beans • Tomato • A Slice of Toast (White or Wholemeal) with butter & marmalade for £12.
Sunday Lunch: 1 course, £18.95; 2 courses, £23.95; 3 courses, £28.95. Available 12pm-8pm Sundays.
