Lovely restaurant . Food and drinks were nice. Service was very slow, forgot some drinks and waited a long time for a few extra strawberries. Overall would go back as nice atmosphere and food.

Booked a table well over a week in advance for 4. On arrival was told we could only sit outside. It was 28 degrees and the table offered had no umbrella and the chairs sunk into the sand. Moved with umbrella to another table. Was told because we were outside we had to pay at the counter when we ordered obviously incase we did a runner. Four middle aged law abiding ladies. ...really? After complaining the waiter agreed we could pay at the end. Once we placed our order we were told we would have to wait longer than usual due to the fact that a business party of 20 inside ( reason we had no indoor table) had just placed their order and the chef was overwhelmed....not our problem we thought . At that point we were tempted to leave but due to road closures decided it was easier to stay. We did wait over 30 minutes for our food. When eventually we recieved our order one of our party didn't have theirs.. ..she had to wait a further 10 minutes. No apology from the surly waitress. Food was limited but what we had was good although basic. Quiche and salad ....can't go wrong with that really! We all fancied a dessert to be told they don't offer desserts but have cake. The waiter told us what was on offer then advised us in a certain manor to go and take a look at the counter for ourselves.....we didn't...too hot. Called a waitress over to place our order. Tea all round each , a slice of what I would call chemical cake ( not homemade). Only one pot of tea arrived for 2 a further wait for the remaining pot. It goes without saying that we didn't leave a tip and we won't be visiting again. Shame as it is in a fabulous location, really pretty and local to me but the whole experience was a dissapointment. My advice, don't bother looks better than it really is.

Nice atmosphere good food and soft drinks as well as coffee.

Lovely setting outside, when the food finally arrived it was great. But the serving staff is always such chaos. Some serious training needed on customer service, organisation. We heard the kitchen staff and waiters moaning about our gluten free order which they got wrong. It’s been years of chaos young staff and they need to sort it out.

Really lovely little place, great location and amazing service - will be back again.

Visited Lord Roberts on the Green for lunch with a friend yesterday. Service snd food were fine. However two members of staff had an argument. Terrible amount of shouting and banging of doors. Not what you need when you are catching up with a friend.

Lovely spot with lots of charm, parking available and food is good. Staff are great and welcoming. Would like to see an updated menu with chips added.

Such a lovely little spot .. lots of character and charm. Had the full English breakfast, came quick, was hot nicelly presented and super yum. Great customer service too.

Another delicious meal at The Lord Roberts. Generous portions and creative ingredients, nicely presented. I had the feta and beetroot salad this time. A large plateful which I struggled (and failed) to finish completely. Lots of parking available nearby as well as some onsite.

I have been coming to The Lord Roberts for the last few years and really enjoy it. Visited in Sunday for brunch and the food and service was great. The garden is a lovely addition but very uneven in parts making the seating a bit wobbly! Great service on this occasion and I will definitely be back Thank-you

Two young girls doing their best to serve and be polite but men need some serious customer service training - chose to stack the freezer and ignore me for nearly five minutes when I arrived. Came back into order food from the garden and then had to wait for 10 minutes while the girl behind the counter served the people in front and two men stood next to the fridge talking about football with two customers I asked if anyone else was serving and they said she’ll do it! Food and drinks took ages small portions and sub par. I haven’t been for ages and it’s a shadow of my last visit I won’t be back.

Excellent food and location

My friend and I had lunch on Thursday to celebrate her birthday, We have been for coffee before so it was our first time choosing food from the menu. The food was excellent and we both enjoyed it very much. The staff were friendly and it was nice to see the restaurant full and thriving. Highly recommended.

I visited on Friday 1st of May with a friend, the first thing we noticed that it was a bit chaotic, we were shown to our table, nobody explained that we had to go to the counter to order, when we ordered, there was people complaining about that they had eaten there food, but still had not received there drink order. We placed our order, sat back down, and waited, I had to ask twice for our coffees over 15 minutes before someone brought them. Overall I was not impressed with the service, and I don't think I will be going back.

Very disappointed with the service, waited ages to get served meal not to great ordered extra hot caramel latte was luke warm sent back to warm up still arrived back luke warm same as the latte, eggs royale was a boiled egg, was a regular there but will not be returning, very disappointed as it used to be a really nice place to eat.

I go here often with friends and family. Good quality Halal food, peaceful and beautiful cosy place that's perfect for enjoying a meal and catching up with friends. Three biggest plus points are, good food, good parking and no music.
