Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleySecond time back! Sunday 5 October at 1:30pm. Pre-booked our table and it was ready with a very cute sign when we arrived. Staff were lovely and welcoming. We had a passion fruit drink, panini and the beetroot, feta and avocado salad. The food was fresh, delicious and well presented. Generous portions. Attentive but not intrusive service. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Very reasonably priced. Thank you.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyLovely lunch yesterday with my sister and our step Mum. It's a cozy little gem !

Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyAfter a lovely walk we had a wonderful lunch. The salads were really tasty and filling and beautifully presented and the coffee is always fantastic. Super friendly and helpful staff. We keep coming back, a real gem in the community.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyFriday 19th Sep - meet friends for an early breakfast 8:30 -8:45. Table was booked in advance. The email reminder service for upcoming bookings is very helpful. The food was really lovely - fresh, well presented and delicious. Also very good value for money. We ordered an eggs Benedict, an eggs royale, an omelette, coffees and a passionfruit drink. We were all very happy with everything we ate and drank. My only comment would be that although we had a booking, we sat at the table for quite a long time with menus and no one coming to take our order. Walk ins were served immediately but we were sat at our table for over 20 mins with no service. When I then stood up and went to the till, the young lady at the till was a little bit abrasive when I queried how we could order. I explained that as an early breakfast meet up we needed to order and have our food because we all had other time-fixed commitments later and we had been waiting a while. One of my friends ended up leaving early part way through our meet up - I estimate we lost 20-30 mins of her time just sitting at the table waiting to be served. I could see the walk ins so I can see how the young lady at the till was busy dealing with that, but when I stood up to ask how we could order I feel she could have been more polite. The food was lovely, it’s a very nice setting filled with clever thoughtful decor touches and product choices. The lady who ended up serving us our food was very hospitable and gave great service. We will book again.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyAs always, the food was very good and coupled with an excellent staff our visit was very good.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyI had a wonderful breakfast at this cafe! I tried the Egg Royal and it was absolutely delicious – perfectly poached eggs with fresh, flavorful ingredients. The presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted so fresh. I paired it with a cup of green tea, which was soothing and complemented the meal perfectly. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommend this place for a great breakfast experience!
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyTook friends for coffee & cake on Sunday morning. It was nice & sunny so we sat in the pleasant garden. Cakes arrived & were nice but 4 coffees took longer so we had finished eating the cake before coffee arrived. Enjoyed though service could improve as it wasn’t busy.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyWe had booked for tea and cake on Friday afternoon with family, after being recommended. Although we enjoyed the cakes, service was poor, cake served but drinks order forgotten and we had almost finished cakes before drinks arrived, cups without teaspoons and had to ask twice to receive these. We will try again and hope for a better experience.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyWe were disappointed that we couldn’t have afternoon tea as your online booking system does not state that you need to call to book this as takes 48 hrs. I did book in time but telephone call booking required. The lunch was good but we were disappointed that we could not stay out in the patio to enjoy are lunch as the weather was lively due to pesky aggressive wasps as you have wasp nests. One by one each booking had to retreat inside to ear as the wasps were after the food and drink. Apparently, your environmental provider thinks the staff aren’t being truthful when he comes around 5pm. Please be assured you do have a big problem there and your provider needs to take this seriously and sort the problem out so your customers can enjoy the patio to have their lunch with the good weather we’ve been having this summer. It was disappointing on top of not being able to have afternoon tea. Ruqayvah was apologetic and very professional. Due to the issue of the wasps mainly I have given 3/5 for atmosphere as we really did not wish to sit inside to eat with such lovely weather due to the pesky wasp infestation.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyJust returned from my birthday Afternoon Tea at The Lord Roberts and we could not have had a better one! The staff, as always, were delightful, and despite being busy were most welcoming and attentive. Delicious sandwiches, quiche. sausage rolls and sweet delights scattered with fresh fruit - and just when we thought we couldn’t eat any more, we were given a plate of warm scones with jam and cream - so scrummy - all went!! Everything was beautifully presented. Had the best time and want to thank everyone involved so much for their efforts xxxxxxx
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyFirst time visit here and won't be my last. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, great food and service
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyHad a lovely lunch there yesterday friendly staff excellent service and food. We sat in the garden and had our lunch a lovely sunny day .we will be going back
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyWe had booked a brunch which was enjoyable. The staff were super friendly and very polite but the service was terrible. The staff were disorganised and seemed to really struggle with using the tablets to find the menu items we had ordered and we had to repeat ourselves several times.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleyLovely place to have a coffee, breakfast or lunch. The staff are very nice and the paninis are really tasty.
Lord Roberts on the Green – PurleySadly the service was even worse than usual. I had to go up to the till to ask to order Three girl servers were chatting and one on their phone We had waited for ages to order I then noticed the people at the next table had to do the same and were complaining about the lack of service . A shame as the servers were all polite and nice when they were serving us , they just need to be attentive to their tables The food was delicious as usual Nice atmosphere and pretty place Training and monitoring of staff def needed
