Fantastic food and service. Food hot and very tasty Best meal out we have had in a long time. will go back

We were out with our walking group and have weekly experience of lunches at different pubs. We were very happy with the Whitchaff . Meal were excellent with all in the party happy with their choices. The sandwich selection gave very good value, especially with the copious quantities provided. Despite the place being crowded when we arrived, service was friendly and efficient, our drinks and meals arrived without delays . We gave the pub a five star rating and look forward to returning in the future

Great service from great staff. Lovely pub/restaurant interior. Would have liked to have tried the Sunday roast but it had run out by 4.00pm. Our alternative order, Steak & Stilton pie was delicious. Large portions and too much for my elderly mum in one go but the leftovers were boxed up for takeaway, no problem.

Fantastic meal with family on Sunday. It was my sons birthday and the staff were brilliant. Service was excellent and the food was too. We will certainly return and would recommend.

Booked a table & paid £5 deposit pp. for a family Sunday lunch. We all ordered different - Sunday Lunches, Lamb, Fish Pie's. It was all served prompt, plentiful, fresh and piping hot. All agreed the food was wonderful. Staff kept us supplied with drinks throughout. Delicious desserts - Tiramisu, Sticky Toffee Pudding and The Playground all helped finish off a fabulous lunchtime treat. We will be back!

Lovely food. Great service

This was the first time we visited and will be the last. I found the staff to be apathetic, and the preparation of my daughter's starter was done by a man on his mobile who didn't wash his hands or have any apron , gloves or hat on. We also found the proportions of our food very minimal and somewhat cold. The price was quite extortionate for what we had. No help was given regarding what was on the menu.

Love the new bar relocation and the food was fantastic even catering for my vegan little brother. Great service great food excellent atmosphere. And good value for money

Loved it! Been meaning to visit for a while, my daughter booked for my birthday, lovely setting, food was lovely, I chose the fish pie, which was a good size portion with a side order of perfectly cooked seasonal veg, my partner had tha lamb rump which he enjoyed and was able to ask for it cooked to his preference, my daughter had the fish tacos, which she said we’re lovely and my grandson the Lancashire burger, whicjh he rated 9/10 ! Overall lovely meal and ambiance, service good, friendly staff and great value, will definitely return.

Had a lovely meal on a Monday night out. It was quite busy and had a great atmosphere. The food was delicious from quite a comprehensive menu. And the prices were very reasonable. The pub has recently been refurbished to a more modern style from the traditional pub it used to be. The staff are great. We will return

We came for a joint birthday celebration. The menu has so many options and something to cater to everyone’s needs. The food itself was excellent, clean plates all around. The service was also brilliant, our waitress had a great sense of humour and was very attentive. Can’t recommend enough!

First time here and hadn't been inside before . Staff were very attentive polite and a credit to the resturant/bar. Food was confusing to order for first timers but staff helped. We thought this was a resturant but quickly realised it was more of a meeting place / bar so was exceptionally busy and extreamly noisy. We were seated upstairs where there was a handful of tables and a small bar. It was our anniversary so presumed we had booked a cosy restaurant our fault of course food was nice staff were lovely just wasn't the atmosphere we expected
