Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeExcellent experience
Ravelston House – EdinburghHaving been brought up in NZ with a brother who went fishing I am fully cognisant with fresh fish. Came to Cafe Fish based on reviews & sadly got a disagreeably early booking at 6pm. Shown to table indoors on an extremely hot evening. Asked about their simple fish choices & asked where the fish was from…the smart Alec answer without a smile was “from the sea”. From that point on I realised we had made a big mistake choosing this restaurant. This insult was followed up by another full of himself staff person asking if I knew what an Aperol Spritz was when looking at the cocktail list. He looked bemused when I informed him I was a Margarita girl. I chose the simply cooked Halibut. Over cooked, over sauced, overpriced & pre frozen. Disgusting at £31. My friend had the seafood stew which I tasted…oily & over flavoured (tomato)…awful. After watching walk-ins & friends be shown to tables outside I asked if we could have our dessert on the deck. Sat down & Mr “Fish is from the Sea” immediately slapped a Reserved sign on the table to give us the message. After fabulous service & food elsewhere on Mull this experience left a sour taste on the last night of our stay. An extremely over hyped restaurant with bad attitude…I can cook simple fish better myself, however living in Oxfordshire it’s not straight from the sea, which I expected here.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeFantastic location, great atmosphere, views of the bay etc. Excellent service, staff were helpful, attentive and professional. Food was delicious and fresh. Well worth a visit for dinner
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeGood service, very reasonably priced lunch deal with good portion sizes. Friendly staff. Thanks.
Ravelston House – EdinburghA great find! Loved the food and decor. A wide range of tasty dishes and accompanying drinks. Hugely popular and rightly so. We opted for an "high tea," time rather than midnight feast as the premium times were already booked well ahead.. We felt lucky to get a table at all! You HAVE to make a reservation. Can recommend without hesitation.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeLovely little place. Super friendly, great atmosphere and tasty food. We loved our little stop in and would happily go back.
Cafe Neuk – AberdeenSuperb and tasty food , super fresh fish/seafood, lovely platters and presentation. Excellent service, efficient and genuinely friendly We had a sweet surprise offered for birthday, thank you so kind of you :). Such a memorable dinner ! Truly the best restaurant for fish/seafood in Tobermory , and amongst the best we’ve ever had. Enjoy!
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeThe vibe was lovely. The staff obviously love working here, and get on among themselves. One of the best seafood experiences we have had. Also the head chef has a lovely singing voice.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeA great meal served which was delicious, served by professional charming smiling staff. Many thanks.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeTerrible service. Wait staff not attentive at all, inc what looked like the manager. Took absolutely ages to order, receive the meal and then get the bill. Food was ok, though veggie fajitas were a joke. Tiny wraps and filling was only onion and peppers, so basically the base of the chicken fajitas - no extra vegetables put in place of meat and definitely not worth the £17 charged for them. Such a shame as used to be a good place.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingWe went there on Wednesday. We are relatively regulars. This occasion was probably the worst ever. By their own admission they were short staffed and there would be a delay. Don’t get me wrong the staff were lovely but the service times were poor. Gotta say the food was below their usual standard. I can only hope they get their act together or locals and tourists will go elsewhere. We won’t be back for a while.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingAnother special meal at cafe fish couldn’t resist the seafood plata - it didn’t disappoint The hummus is not to be missed The meal was as always first class We make a special trip to Tobermory just to have diner at Cafe Fish
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeCafe fish fabulous as ever. Delicious hot Langoustine, beautifully cooked scallops to die for, shellfish bisque that was undoubtedly the best we've ever had. The wine was perfect, staff so busy but friendly and chatty, and the atmosphere is perfect. Still our favourite seafood restaurant anywhere. And thanks Liz for looking after us again.
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeLovely meal, food was delicious, lovely restaurant and lovely friendly staff too. If ever I am in Stirling again I would definitely visit.
The Golden Lion Hotel – StirlingAbsolutely delicious, the scallops and monkfish were amazing. Original and perfectly executed. We all loved the friendly, relaxed atmosphere and brilliant service. Every time we come visit we are never disappointed. Thank you
Cafe Fish – Argyll and ButeOur first time at Cafe Fish but won’t be our last. Exceptional food - fish and seafood cooked perfectly and flavours that were fresh and different to so many other places. The service was great as well - attentive but not pushy.
