A warm welcome followed by lovely food served by helpful, friendly staff on a sunny Saturday afternoon, really enjoyed our time at The Bull
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe booked a meal here on Saturday. All I can say is that it was perfect. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. Lovely atmosphere to a lovely country pub. We will definitely be visiting again
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely staff, food was amazing very good value for money
The Bull – ShrewsburyFirst rate country dining pub, excellent service and very good value. We'll certainly be coming again!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe visited for lunch by air so it was great to find 0% Kronembourg on draught. The service was very friendly and the food delicious. Great pub! Wish it were nearer to us.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyLovely traditional pub, great choice of ales which are well kept. Traditional Pub Grub which is done extremely well. Ben served us and is a real asset to the place, great banter and would highly recommend. I will knock off 0.25 of the score, only because the wrong pie was served, but it was delicious.
The Bull – ShrewsburyGreat food as always! Lovely staff and amazing atmosphere! This is definitely my go to pub! X
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyThis was our second visit and again we were served delicious home cooked food. There’s a light bites menu and a god choice on the children’s menu. The staff are really polite and friendly and it’s really good value for money. Recommend the beef and ale pie 100%
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyExcellent food and service, great value for money. The brownie was amazing too!
The Bull – ShrewsburyLovely roast and great service.
The Bull – ShrewsburyLovely meal as always
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGreat Sunday roast. Well cooked, good portions and very tasty. Excellent value for good quality food. Will definitely come again.
The Bull – ShrewsburyTook my family for afternoon tea. The food was freshly prepared. The sandwiches where tasty and the cakes and scones where delicious. In fact, we had to take home a goodie box. However, the let down was no tea provided. I requested some for five people but only got a pot for two cups. The mugs provided where dirty and I had to give them back. They could only give me four cappuccino cups and a cleaned mug back and still didn't get anymore tea. And I was charged for the tea. So not a full experience for the charge stated. The staff where lovely and helpful but seemed to be very busy.
The Bull – ShrewsburyAnother excellent meal / evening out. Thank you.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGreat Sunday roast meal with the family, lovely waiting staff with great customer service. Dog friendly too and would highly recommend. Thank you it was wonderful.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyTook family for a meal early Saturday teatime. Callum was excellent for service and friendliness however the meals were hit and miss. 2 people had the steak and blue cheese ciabatta - the steak was chewy and no real taste of blue cheese. The steak on the surf and turf was also tough and that was ordered with blue cheese sauce which wasn’t a sauce. Chunky chips were overcooked on all meals.
The Bull – ShrewsburyLovely family meal
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburySelected this as one of the closest to our overnight accommodation, and offered a very reasonable selection of food, at fair pricing. There was plentiful parking albeit poorly lit. The restaurant was bright and fresh having undergone refurbishment, and we were welcomed by the young lady who was our server for the evening. Drinks were ordered and served promptly (it was quiet for a Saturday night, but had been busy much earlier we were assured). I chose a pint of cider shandy and my wife a large White Zinfandel. My wife (celebrating a birthday) avoided her usual steak and opted for Hunter’s Chicken, and I asked for a starter and side to be served as a main which was accepted without missing a beat, my choice being BBQ Buffalo wings coupled with Dirty Fries (Shropshire Blue Cheese with Jalapeños ). We waited just a few minutes and the food appeared, and generous was an understatement! My ‘5’ wings had morphed to 8, and the Hunter’s chicken came with a huge bowl of wedges masquerading as fries. They were like small roast potatoes and I ended up with half a dozen to ‘try’!. The BBQ wings were smothered in sauce and were delicious, as were the dirty fries. The Hunter’s chicken was summarily demolished and the bacon was crispy and smokey. When she came to clear away, we chatted with the lady server who was friendly and straightforward, and she came across as very genuine and interesting. Paying the bill, I was pleasantly surprised to find it much cheaper than expected, and even with a tip it was still much better value than our home turf in Devon. Thoroughly recommended, and would definitely return if ever in the area.
