Our Home Group from church had a meal at the Raven to celebrate 'end of term'. There were fourteen of us and we enjoyed a nice lunch. We had placed our orders, by email, two days before, and the food was served, as ordered and quite soon after our arrival. Staff were pleasant throughout. We would definitely like to return on a similar occasion. Two minor observations: One of our folk thought the Mac and Cheese was a bit low on cheese, and another seemed to have been charged £2 for extra fries he hadn't asked for (with Ham, egg and chips). It has to be said, neither of them was very bothered about it. Those minor items apart, we were all very happy! We had a lovely relaxing time.

An excellent return visit. Easily accessible; staff very helpful; a good menu. An enjoyable relaxed visit. We will be back.

Brilliant Staff & brilliant food! A large amount of choice for varying diets or those with special dietary needs! Also very accommodating to small children! Well worth a visit, and I’ll definitely be returning and recommending to friends :)

For an extremely new venue on the food scene of Shrewsbury, I am absolutely blown away by The Gate. Whilst service did take some time this was due to all the food being cooked fresh to order and our server Callum was exceptional in the care he took with us. The portion sizes are exceptional for the price you pay with several of my party feeling very full after some chicken wings and a burger. Very happy to see a hybrid brunch/steakhouse venue in town, and I wish them every success - I will be returning

First time we have been for a meal since Mark the head chef moved on to his dream job Pleased to say the standards we had come to expect were still there Sadly if we don't support our local pubs they will disappear If your new to the area or just staying locally give the Tilley Raven a try It's an easy walk from Wem or you can even go the scenic route by the river Dee dogs very welcome

I brought my brother and his wife (plus their dog) to the Tilley Raven for a birthday lunch, and we were made to feel very welcome by Kerry, who has a wonderful rapport with customers, and even treated the dog to some biscuits! The food was excellent - a step above the usual pub fare, and with very generous servings. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

What a super restaurant. Friendly staff and super delicious food. Nothing too much trouble. The food was fresh, hot and excellent value for money. We will be back!

Food was good and reasonably priced for Sunday lunch but the service was awful! From start to finish! The young barman/waiter obviously needs guidance and training! No attention to detail regards food or drink, no checking during service , drinks forgotten twice and never cleared the starter plates before bringing out main courses! Shame really as the Sunday lunch was very good

To be honest we were disappointed this was the first time we had visited and after arriving at midday to be told only half the menu was available we thought was really strange the food was ok but with only one member of staff trying to run the bar as well as wait on the tables meant the service was really slow onto the desserts to be told no cheesecake no crumble no waffles as we were the first ones in for Sunday lunch whatever customers coming in after us were going to have was a mystery unfortunately this has put us off visiting again.

Having booked a table for 5, including 2 visitors from Australia, I was contacted about half an hour by the Bull cancelling the booking. The chef had apparently been taken unwell. I then had to put up with an hour's diatribe by the Australians about how this would never happen in Australia. What is more disconcerting, though, is being asked to write a review about the dining experience, as I didn't have one. I had no food, no atmosphere, no service and no value for money hence cannot give positive marks for any of these.

We were a party of 12 , food was superb and we could not fault the whole experience . Brilliant

First time at the Bulls Head for a few years. Callum took our order and was excellent and gave a brilliant first impression of the pub. Had a wait of around an hour for the meals but it was worth it!!! Great quality and portion size for the bigger eaters out there. The “mother clucker” burger was amazing. Well priced food, decent quality and we will return. Hopefully when the apple crumble available!!!
