We had a lovely lunch on Saturday afternoon will definitely go again
The Gate – ShrewsburyFirst time we have been for a meal since Mark the head chef moved on to his dream job Pleased to say the standards we had come to expect were still there Sadly if we don't support our local pubs they will disappear If your new to the area or just staying locally give the Tilley Raven a try It's an easy walk from Wem or you can even go the scenic route by the river Dee dogs very welcome
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyI brought my brother and his wife (plus their dog) to the Tilley Raven for a birthday lunch, and we were made to feel very welcome by Kerry, who has a wonderful rapport with customers, and even treated the dog to some biscuits! The food was excellent - a step above the usual pub fare, and with very generous servings. I'd definitely recommend a visit.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWhat a super restaurant. Friendly staff and super delicious food. Nothing too much trouble. The food was fresh, hot and excellent value for money. We will be back!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyDelicious food, friendly service and great value. We will definitely be back!
The Bull – ShrewsburyFood was good and reasonably priced for Sunday lunch but the service was awful! From start to finish! The young barman/waiter obviously needs guidance and training! No attention to detail regards food or drink, no checking during service , drinks forgotten twice and never cleared the starter plates before bringing out main courses! Shame really as the Sunday lunch was very good
The Bull – ShrewsburyTo be honest we were disappointed this was the first time we had visited and after arriving at midday to be told only half the menu was available we thought was really strange the food was ok but with only one member of staff trying to run the bar as well as wait on the tables meant the service was really slow onto the desserts to be told no cheesecake no crumble no waffles as we were the first ones in for Sunday lunch whatever customers coming in after us were going to have was a mystery unfortunately this has put us off visiting again.
The Bull – ShrewsburyI have been asked by email to write a review of my meal at The Bull. Having booked a table for 5, including 2 visitors from Australia, I was contacted about half an hour by the Bull cancelling the booking. The chef had apparently been taken unwell. I then had to put up with an hour's diatribe by the Australians about how this would never happen in Australia. What is more disconcerting, though, is being asked to write a review about the dining experience, as I didn't have one. I had no food, no atmosphere, no service and no value for money hence cannot give positive marks for any of these.

The Bull – ShrewsburyWe were a party of 12 , food was superb and we could not fault the whole experience . Brilliant
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyFirst time at the Bulls Head for a few years. Callum took our order and was excellent and gave a brilliant first impression of the pub. Had a wait of around an hour for the meals but it was worth it!!! Great quality and portion size for the bigger eaters out there. The “mother clucker” burger was amazing. Well priced food, decent quality and we will return. Hopefully when the apple crumble available!!!
The Bull – ShrewsburyWe visited on a Thursday, early evening, having booked 2 weeks prior. Due to the time the Raven was quite quiet. I had the sea bass, cooked to perfection, it was fabulous. My friend had the Mediterranean vegetable cous cous (usually has Hunters Chicken, but decided to be brave and try something different) she was not disappointed. We both left extremely clean plates!
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyAbsolutely superb food as it always is, we are never disappointed.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe were a party of 13 so had pre-ordered from a large and comprehensive menu, which included light bites to suit smaller appetites. Everyone enjoyed their meal and spoke of returning. Service good, atmosphere good, happy diners.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyFirst but not last time we will be eating here, the atmosphere is lovely inside helped by very friendly and helpful staff. The meal was excellent I had the Brisket and my wife had the crispy Pork both cooked beautifully. Highly recommended
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyWe booked a family meal here on Sunday teatime. A couple of us had the Sunday Roast - very succulent, and a couple had a burger meal. As always the food was excellent & we were all very happy with our meals. The food was very tasty, well cooked & presented & a good price.
The Tilley Raven – ShrewsburyGroup of eight cycled to The Bull for lunch. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was very good and well presented. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Will definitely visit again.
