Delicious home cooked food and accommodating staff. Would definitely eat there again

Very friendly welcoming staff. Excellent food. Large portions. Particularly recommend Chicken in creamy leak source, sausage and mash with onion gravy and the steak and ale pie.

We visited The Maypole for an evening meal while we were staying at Gallaber Park. It was great to see it open again as it was closed on our previous visits. The service was excellent and the meals were freshly made, very tasty and large portions. When we stay in the area again, we will not hesitate to book a meal at The Maypole!

Family friendly pub with freshly cooked and hearty food

Excellent food, good size portions and dog friendly! We called in after a weekend away and it was just what we needed to finish our weekend the right way! Friendly staff and a good atmosphere!

Friendly pub, with good choice of food.

Fantastic food. More than you can eat. The steak pie is epic! Dog friendly, but well controlled. I can't speak highly enough of the place. Just remember on your way out that the car park is one way.....

Pub was comfortable and staff pleasant. Food was fine and served within an acceptable time frame. However, I was part way through my meal when two customers were permitted to bring their dogs into the dining room and have them remain there for the duration of my meal. I was not comfortable with the presence of these animals and regard such practice to be potentially unhygienic.

Lovely welcome. Friendly responsive staff. Food was delicious we had the steak pie which was excellent . We went back two nights on the trot we enjoyed it so much .

We called at the Maypole on our way back from a weekend away in the Lakes. I booked a table on line and received confirmation of the booking straight away. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and made to feel at home. The food was absolutely delicious and the team were extremely friendly and helpful when choosing our food from the menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and we will definitely come back. I would highly recommend the Maypole.

A lovely meal the chicken pate was a meal on its own. The Yorkshire beef on the specials board was very good. We were staying at the the Plough Wigglesworth for three days Wished we had found you earlier far superior meal and choice, When we return to Yorkshire we will call in.
