we visited the restrauant on Friday at 6.30 pm for a meal for 4. The food was fine but the service was so bad. We asked for a jug of water which came but had to ask for glasses. We finished the main course and waited and waited for the plates to be cleared. Had to go to the bar for another jug of water and some drinks. No one to be seen waiting on, We eventually asked for coffees but nobody took an order and still the dirty plates remained on the table. We eventually asked for the bill without the service charge. I do not blame then young man who was serving us. He obviously had not been trained at all. The chef/owner?? came into the restaurant but was oblivious to what was going on in the restaurant as he was chatting to a group on a table. The restaurant was not busy at all Probably 12 people in all. We have been to the restaurant a number of times but found this time the prices were extremely high and a service charge added instead of being able to tip what we wanted. ADVICE TRAIN YOUR STAFF

The best French restaurant in Skipton. Good food, polite staff and a nice atmosphere.

Another fabulous meal at Le Bistro. Eaten here a number of times and always had a great meal. Thank goodness this exceptional place has survived in this difficult environment. Well done.

Nice local pub with a friendly feel. Staff where extremely nice and polite. Food was average and served extremely quick and nuclear hot! We was just placing the last mouth full of our starter in our moth and the waitress was there taking away our plate. 3 minutes later the mains where on the table.

Le Bistro des Amis is our favourite go-to restaurant in Skipton, and we always take friends here. Lovely menu, priced reasonably for the quality of the food, which is always well cooked and presented, and the staff are just super. Highly recommended.

Excellent food everything was hot and well presented . The service was really good and staff were able to answer any of our question's. Would highly recommend you visit .

Really good! We lived in France for 13 years and your food was just about as nice as we’d had anywhere

Just popped in for a starter and a drink, nice and quick service, however, the bread served on the side of the dishes was slightly stale and was advertised as being fresh so just let the meal down slightly. Tasty food though!

Really well placed, just down the hill from the castle, the food was delicious and made even more enjoyable by the friendly, attentive service. Fantastic place to unwind with some great food and a glass or two!

A superb evening. All of the food was delicious. The best French onion soup I have ever tasted. The service was excellent from the young staff, nothing was too much trouble, they were so cheerful and pleasant. We had such a lovely time. Thank you.
