excellent service, very friendly owners and staff. well done. have eaten here many times, and will eat here again, and proximity to pub next door makes it a lovely evening out in Southport.

Bengal Lounge – Southport

We have eaten several times here and loved it each time. Marc has brought an authentic French flavour to Birkdale Village. The soupe de poisson is to die for but the whole menu brings a touch of the Gallic dining experience with the tiled floor French chansons and the lip-smacking food.

Bistrot Verite – Southport

great food and great atmosphere.

Sgt. Peppers Pizzeria – Southport
Lil And Arth.

we highly recommend Tonys Restaurant for the best food in Southport, very pleasant surroundings and excellent service, the menu has a good variety and the portions are very generous to suit all tastes also there is a very good selection of wines. we have been eating at Tonys for a number of years and we have never ever been disappointed.hewitt@

A little known and seemingly under appreciated small bistro in Birkdale. Recently had the lamb & ham dishes, both cooked to perfection. Decently sized portions, anything extra not needed as such excellent quality food. All reasonably priced, where as other restaurants would charge well over the odds for the same dishes. Will definitely be returning again soon.

The Retreat – Southport

Went for the first time last night. Absolutely wonderful! Service was excellent, staff friendly and helpful. Seasonal produce superbly cooked and presented. Cannot praise Bistrot Verite highly enough. Looking forward to going again.. and again.. and again!!

Return visit, Had sunday lunch today starter was a very good pate with brioche toast, lovely sweet sauce and tangy garnish, mains was a carvery, but not, I must hasten to say the usual tired apology but fresh pink juicy beef with fresh soft Yorkshire, floury tasty roasties plus new potatoes and nice fresh veggies. Dessert was bread and butter pudding to die for and ice cream. All for about a tenner ! excellent food, very reasonable price , good ambiance and friendly staff, Highly recommended.

i recommend the sandgrounder restaurant because the very first time i had something to eat was when i was working in southport.I was working on the pier and i was eating at the marine lake cafe by the marina but i found that it wasnt up to much so i decided to try the sandgrounder and i must say it is the best fish and chips i have ever tasted. The staff are very friendly and they make you feel so welcome it is a warm and friendly atmosphere.I think the sandgrounder is good value for money it is cheap clean friendly and the food is very nice

I can truly say this is by far one of the best restaurants in Southport. My husband and I have been there numerous times and on each occasion the food has been delicious. Book early to avoid disappointment as it is only a small venue. Recommend the gusto goats cheese salad absolutely gorgeous.

Been the beelash, a lot of times, over the past 2 years, maybe as many as 20 times, food is top quality every time, never had a nicer curry, in the area.

My family & I visited Fuegos in Sept 09. The restaurant & staff are lovely & the place is very child friendly. We opted for the early bird menu, the food was fabulous & there was more than enough. We had three courses for 3 of us and a bottle of wine for around £36.00, easily worth the money. I would definitely pay a return visit

Had a lovely meal at Bistrot Verite on the 22nd September. The service was friendly with a good menu using local produce. The food was excellent and reasonably priced for the quality and size of the portions. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Westminster Tea Rooms – Southport

Been going here with my family for nearly 3 years now & would not go anywhere else. The service is excellent and the food is fabulous & it is no wonder that it is always busy. They have also recently refurbished the restaurant and also added some new delicious meals to the menu. Highly recommended - Andrew & Julie.

Taj Mahal – Southport

First class restaurant - I had Mussells to start with and Lamb for my main course - absolutely gorgeous. I am not a wine drinker but there appears to be a pretty comprehensive wine list. Would recommend a visit - this is 20 yards from Birkdale Train station and there are several bars near by.

I ate here recently and the food is very poor. It was very poor quality. For example the steak and ale pie was full of lumps of fat and gristle. The fish pie with 'king prawns', turned out to be a frozen prawn and potato pie with no trace of fish, or king prawns for that matter. The food is cheap, but even at those prices I would rather not bother. Not recommended

The Thatch and Thistle – Southport
Joe

I recommend it because the restaurant has a good feel to it. The chef is well known for his cooking and shows it at his own place. The restaurant is small and homely and has a great atmosphere, all the staff and kind and make the time there a little bit more memorable. So all in all, it has got to be one of or the best place to eat out in Southport.
