The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordBeautiful place, super clean, friendly staff. We ordered the brisket- it was super tender and tasted delicious. We had 2 lots of topped fries- both delicious. Mac and cheese was super cheesy, stringy and tasty. All in all a lovely meal!
The Smokey Cow – TelfordI booked this venue for fiancés birthday on good review and recommendation. I took in excess of 5 minutes to be seat and we were only pointed to our seats stating ‘it’s over there’. We then waited nearly 20 minutes to be for a drinks order a further 10 minutes for a food order. We asked for the child’s meal to come out with the starters in order for it to cool down, this did not happen. The starters which were a plentiful portion of nachos with toppings were grey and bland, unsure how the taste was so absent. The mains were no better. The burgers could not possibly be locally sourced 100%. They had the consistency of a herons own frozen burger and the taste of a Frey bento meatball. My daughter’s Mac and cheese was the only dish apart from one prawn starter from 9 dishes ordered that had any fulfilling taste. The guitarist was a nice touch and was a genuinely nice bloke. In the experience we had, I would be hard pushed to frequent this establishment again.

The Smokey Cow – TelfordReally nice meal here. Generous main course portions. Service was a bit on the slow side but heard they were short staffed. We liked the pub - lots of character and friendly staff even though they were very busy. We’d definitely visit again.
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordI dont usually write reviews but after some of the negative comments i had read i felt i had to. We went on a sunday and both had the roast dinner it was lovely so much we couldnt finish and the cauliflower was excellent. We couldnt find fault with the staff they were very friendly and efficient.
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordWent for Food at The Smokey Cow for My Dad's 60th. It was amazing from start to finish! Food was 10/10. Chef Josh cooked everything to perfection. The steak cut through like butter! Louise was fab, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was brilliant with the kids in our party, promit with service and so friendly. Our experience was first class and will definitely be returning. Thank you team :)
The Smokey Cow – TelfordWe came for Sunday lunch and it was fab. My husband and I had the sharing platter, with 3 meats, stuffing, pigs in blankets, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots as well as a lovely big Yorkshire pudding. There was also a selection of geeen veg and lashings of gravy. Very tasty food and lovely service. Thank you!
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordHaving been to the Smokey Cow on several occasions before and compared the smoked meats to those I sampled whilst in the USA, I was thoroughly disappointed yesterday not only to be served cold roast dinners but to have to ask the waiting staff to wash their hands after witnessing her rummage around in her pants then heading to pick up my food. This was such a good restaurant, which previously served amazing meals and is truly disappointing to see how far the standards have dropped.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordTook a chance on the Smokey Cow and happy to say we were all pleased with our choice. The venue has a warm and welcoming feel to it and the young man running front of house was polite and efficient. Food choice was plentiful with many of us struggling to narrow it down to one single meal. The meals themselves were lovely and all plates went back to the kitchen empty. Multiple drink orders were fulfilled quickly and we were tended to throughout. The small play area outside is in need of a little revamp, but if the venue has just been renovated then I understand this would be the last thing to be addressed. I would not hesitate to return here and can recommend it to all ages and group sizes.
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLily was serving us , she was very friendly and attentive. Great food .
The Smokey Cow – TelfordLovely meal in pleasant surroundings.
The Golden Ball Inn – TelfordWe did have to wait quite awhile for our meals and having a hungry one year old - we were getting frustrated, however, the food was fabulous.Tasty and the chips were amazing. 7 meals ordered and we all enjoyed, one thing though with my steak, medium rare was ordered and I received well done. After waiting 45mins, I was so hungry that I didn’t send it back. Still tasty just not what I asked for! Nonetheless , it was a meal booked for my sister in laws birthday, the waiter and chef went into great efforts in finding candles for me and making her dessert look good! I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank you.
