We came because of an article in the Guardian online on lesser known parts of Cumbria, and I'm glad we did. Best pub we visited by far. Food was delicious - the chips in particular are really good, although everything was tasty. It was our last night of holiday but would definitely return another time.

A truly authentic and original pub experience in a beautiful Lakeland location with easy parking. Delicious food, loved the home made horse radish. Service was great however it was clear they were understaffed on the day. I would definitely recommend The Farmers Arms.

We visited The Farmers Arms as a group of four this weekend. We love this community pub and we're keen to share another Farmers Arms experience with visiting friends. As always the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a freshly cooked, locally sourced meal accompanied by great beers from the region. We will visit again very soon. All the ingredients are there for a perfect evening with friends- relaxing and thoughtfully created environment- friendly and helpful staff- a daily menu made with locally sourced ingredients and good beer. Icing on the cake too!! The shop space with handmade items that you can peruse for that special object to top the evening off!

Haven't been for a while really enjoyed the food. Service was great.

The Farmers Arms at Lowick Green was recommended by the host of our Airbnb holiday home. A party of 7, we were made to feel very welcome on arrival. The staff were friendly and looked like they really enjoy their work. We sampled a range of the local ales and lagers, delicious!! Whilst the menu is not extensive, there was something to appeal to everyone and we thoroughly enjoyed our food. We loved the 70’s vibe and decor .

Had a meal at the pub twice during our stay. Excellent food and great atmosphere.

As ever the food (a cassoulet) was delicious. The Farmers Arms is unquestionably the best pub for a meal in the South Lakes.

Went for lunch on Sunday, food was very good all being abit cold, but was very tasty. We did have to wait over an hour for our food. There was also a dog which came from upstairs that kept escaping into the bar, which wasn’t a problem, the problem was the way it was caught and dragged by its collar and thrown upstairs, several times. I felt very un comfortable with this so we left.

Went for Mother's Day... food was great, staff were friendly, however service was slow, seemed they were understaffed. Was no table service for drinks, and the drinks were flat. Didn't get dessert as the wait was so long. Would definitely try again in the future to see if service has improved as could not fault the food.

Came to eat with a group of old college friends. We all had a variety of Thai, pie and curry....everyone of us were really impressed with how delicious the food was, great portion size and fantastic value for money. The staff were friendly and goof fun to chat to aswel. We absolutely will be back again soon. Thankyouuuuuuuu :)

The food was great! The staff were lovely. The starters were full of flavour and had a good amount to them. The Thai chilli sauce had a good balance of sweetness and spiciness. The mains were thoroughly enjoyed by all for both the English pub mains and Thai food. The only downside we had was a very rowdy group of people who fortunately left part way through the meal

What a wonderful Thai. I have eaten here on 4-5 occasions over the last 4 months and each time our entire party has marvelled at the quality of the food. Simply lovely.

Booked a table for a meal 4 weeks in advance (as this was for Boxing Day) and received confirmation. Also received a reminder of the booking 2 days beforehand which gave a lot of confidence. Turned up at the correct time only to find that the restaurant wasn’t open that day. Staff apologised but were somewhat offhand about it saying “well the pub over the road does food”. Have since found out from reading other reviews that this is not a one off occurrence. To add insult to injury I then received a request to write a review of my non existent dining experience. I realise that the responses I received are computer generated but it is surely not beyond the wit of man to modify the replies for periods that food is not served. I would suggest that anyone considering dining here ring up beforehand just to make sure.
